National Casino was established in 2021 with thousands of real-money online gambling games. The site holds two licenses from international regulators, the most important one is a Kahnawake Gambling Commission license from the Mohawk Territory “in” Canada, and the other perhaps more well-known certification comes from Curacao.

TechSolutions Group N.V. holds both licenses. Sister sites include 22Bet, 20Bet, and Bizzo on the Curacao license. Additional sites associated or affiliated with National through shared customer service or another crossover could include Playamo, Spinia, and BetChan.

The site’s digital literature touts five “pillars” that they say set the venue apart. We’ll take a look at each of these as well as go deep into the terms and conditions to see if we can find anything players might want to look out for. The five elements National states make it great are as follows:

Another element many players are concerned with is site design. Of course, nice aesthetics matter to the overall experience, and this site doesn’t lack “pizazz”, but more important are the design elements that make the player experience not only engaging but memorable. As the fates would have it, form follows function and simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. 

By focusing on the five key elements and making them all obvious and accessible to the player, National has naturally created a user interface and user experience of polished sureness.

All the best games and providers, augmented with frequent and generous bonuses and incentives along with 100% safe and secure banking wouldn’t mean anything in the final analysis if the great experience didn’t translate into a sure payout, on time, every time when you win.

We’ve spent several hours pouring over disputes and complaints of related sites dating back to 2016 and in this reviewer’s opinion, there were periods or instances where the operators were not 100% transparent and fair. That said, 8 casinos of various ages over a period of 6 years are bound to generate complaints if not controversies. Under a previous management arrangement or name (Direx NV) some of the associated, or formally associated properties generated both.

However, National, 22Bet, 20Bet, and Bizzo - the only sites listed on TechSolutions N.V. corporate website, were not involved in any of those problems. For posterity, we will note that Playamo - which may or may not be more related than sharing customer service or marketing partners - at one point accepted deposits from US players but refused to refund or pay ill-gotten winnings as each player breached the written terms by depositing and playing. 

This transgression was remedied as a matter of policy and the advocate website was able to convince SOFTSWISS to install Geo-blocking capabilities for operators. 

In at least one case the operator denied winnings and refunded deposits to a player who had used nearly 60 bonuses but had deposited only 30+ times. This action was ostensibly covered under “bonus abuse” in the terms and conditions. The operator refused to relent.

Later, in 2018 they refused the winnings of a live roulette player whom they accused of developing a ‘strategy’ to win.

Representatives are available on live forums but rarely respond directly, instead opting to pass messages back and forth in public until resolved.

None of the TechSolutions brands have any bad marks against them that we can find - and -  because the types and depths of relationships with other brands are not clear - and- since the brands including National are relatively new (less than 2 years old), it becomes difficult to predict the future based on the past. 

Here is where the Kahnawake Gaming Commission (KGC) license comes into play for me.

What good is a second license?

To answer that we need to take a quick look at both licenses. While there is certainly some redundancy or overlap between the two, the Curacao license doesn’t provide any consumer protection beyond self-exclusion for problem gamblers and those rules are weak. It mainly certifies anti-money laundering efforts (AML) and know your customer compliance (KYC). It makes sure known criminals don’t hold the license, and that they had enough money and a business plan to open the casino. There’s not a lot more to a Curacao license.

Kahnawake, on the other hand, is inextricably involved in the online gambling products of online casino operations in several regulated US states for starters. It is a robust regulatory jurisdiction with an impeccable reputation for more than a decade. The last time I looked, the ratio of disputes settled in favor of the player is superior to the record of the Malta Gaming Authority, and the Commission has been licensing and regulating online gambling concerns since 1999 - nearly as long as any other jurisdiction.

In a nutshell, the KGC license matters because it matters. While not even a UK Gambling Commission license can guarantee operator integrity, this second seal lends serious weight to the benefit of the doubt for any nascent or even re-emerging operator.

Software and Games

In the operator’s self-assessment (5 pillars), this section would include providers and game selection and we’ll take a look at those.

The site itself is delivered on the SoftSwiss platform which is, in effect, infinitely scalable. In player terms that simply means that if they wanted to they could shove every game known to humanity into the package - it’s basically limitless.

I don’t have any actuary tables in front of me and I’m not reading any of your “big data” so I can’t tell you if the following claim from TechSolutions is true:

It has the ring of truth to it, but I think that is only because they have a head start!

If I have 4 hours of leisure time per day and use half of that every other day as well as play 4 hours on weekends I only have 10 hours per week to play. If I play each title for 10 minutes I will get through 60 games per week, in which case I should be able to consume the library within 2 years - but - depending on the rate of new game deployment, it could be a literal statement. Honestly, I will never play every game there, no matter how ‘possible’ it is or how “able” I am.

Providers and games

To say there is something here for everyone would only be true if everyone games online. There might not be anything here for your next-door neighbor's son-in-law’s yoga instructor or the house painter across the street, or even your favorite cashier at the store - but - if any of those people play online…? Yes! There is something here for them and there is something here for you.

We found a few minor complaints and those were resolved. Whatever was going on with Playamo and a few other possibly related sites a couple of years ago seems to have been worked out when it comes to newer venues like National, Bizzo, 20Bet, et al.

The site is very professionally composed and well-presented. Players seem satisfied and we find several positive aspects to the site experience.
