About the Company
Reel Time Gaming Enterprises PTY Limited is a Queensland, Australia based casino game developer founded in 2009. The company claims over 100 slots titles including many that the creators developed for other companies such as Merkur. The company, headed up by CEO, Martin Visocnik is responsible for many popular games including Eye of Horus. Visocnik developed Book of Ra while working as a slot developer and game designer for Novomatic.
We first see the company come into the public eye with a content deal the company made with GameAccount Network (GAN) in the summer of 2013. This deal saw Reel Time recreating several of their land-based games for online deployment. It allowed the company to expand its commercial footprint without the distraction or expense of creating their own remote game server and opened doors already serviced by GAN. The GameAccount Network had access to regulated markets such as the UK and Italy, Spain and the regulated online gambling American state of New Jersey. Reel Time is licensed by the UKGC.
Markets and operators that were potentially opened up by the GAN deal included SNAI, Sisal, Lottomatica, Intralot Italia, William Hill, Sportingbet, PaddyPower, Boylesports, Rank Group and Gala Coral Group.
While Blueprint Gaming, which is controlled by the Gauselmann Group started in Atlanta, Georgia, USA and a provider by a similar name, Realtime Gaming also started in Atlanta, Georgia and develops most of their slots in Australia (Aussie Slots) these two companies should not be confused with each other.
In 2017, the Gauselmann Group, which also owns Merkur Gaming, made the decision to de-license any online casinos that were offering their games to the German market, as online gambling is thought by some to be illegal in the country. You can read all of the details here.
While Merkur is controlled by the Gauselmann Group, Reel Time Gaming is an independent developer and can still offer some of their games to German players. Titles such as Eye of Horus, Fishin Frenzy, Wishing Well, and El Torero are available at some online casinos such as Lapalingo as of late December 2017.
The Games
We can't be sure how many of the company's games are only deployed through their machines and which of those are online. Their Game Ring packages for land cabinets operate a lot like Novomatic's Gaminator series with multiple games available on a single machine.
The original slots here are the same as those found with the Merkur label, except they don't have the addition of the trademark ladder feature.
Wishing Well is a dark and foreboding 5 reel, 3 position slot with a three scatter trigger that fires off free games. During free spins, the special symbol expands to fill entire reels and acts as an extra wild. The high paying symbol can cover all 15 reel positions paying 2000 coins per line.
Eye of Horus is another 10 pay line game with massive payout potential. Landing scatters opens the doors to the pyramids and grants free games with expanding wild symbols. The game presents with simple graphics and generic sound effects giving it a land-based casino game feel and experience.
Fishing Frenzy is a comical nautical themed slot with free awards whenever the fisherman symbol appears during free games. Again, 5 reels, and 10 lines, the game features a colorful assortment of reel symbols and up to 20 free spins per trigger.
Conclusion
It's always great to find the name behind some of the most popular slots of all time like Reel Time Gaming's Martin Visocnik as the developer of Novomatic's Book of Ra. We find similar gems in reading about CORE Gaming, Lightning Box, and several other "boutique" developers. It's also great they were able to retrieve the use of their games so that die-hard fans, especially in Germany, are not deprived.
