About the Company
BF Games (formerly known as Bee-Fee Games) is a software and real money game and sports developer founded in 2013 by Marcin Wolski.
The company holds licenses with the UKGC, MGA, ONJN, SGA, and more.
While there is some confusion as to the reasons for rebranding and if the founder is still the owner, the company still operates as Bee-Fee Limited and simply trades under the BF banner in the UK and Malta.
BF Games is part of the LV Group of companies.
The concern is larger than it may seem at first blush with a facility in Switzerland, half a dozen offices in Poland, and the carrying out of various activities in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Georgia, Italy, Latvia, Malta, Montenegro, Sweden, and the Netherlands.
Georgia is interesting to note as the LV Group is headquartered in Batumi.
The company's divisions and products include:
- Online casino platform
- Sportsbetting platform
- Slot game studio
- Payment services
- Slot machine manufacturing
Software, Hardware, and Games
The casino platform integrates top software APIs. Among them are over twenty payment methods, slot games from major developers and providers, and affiliate management services and back-office support for operating partners.
The betting platform offers a standalone solution for land-based or online betting that can also be integrated into existing platforms.
The company's self-service betting terminals can be found in bars, casinos, and betting shops in Europe. The web-based mobile version is built and deployed in HTML5, making it compatible with all browsers, desktop or mobile.
The payment services offered include the online wallet, "Paymenticon" now called Plix. It is not only an e-Wallet, but it is also a payment gateway. Gaining popularity in Poland, it also works with other currencies and could be colloquially considered a type of bank account, prepaid card, and online payment service.
The company produces a line of cabinets with over 16 slot titles available. They also provide point of sale, self-contained touch terminals, and DTM flatscreen touch-activated units.
All of the slot machines are manufactured at their facilities in Poland.
LV Group also has its own online casino and an online sportsbook, both are highly rated by advocates and consumers alike.
BF Games Online Slots
The online slots portfolio contains some of their land-based titles as well, giving players in central and eastern Europe brand recognition and familiar favorites.
As of review time, we count about 50 titles for online play. Many are created for local appeal such as Book of Gates, Book of Gods, and Book of Ming.
Others are series games, and titles that borrow mechanics from each other and deploy them in unique ways each building on the last such as Stunning Hot, Stunning Hot 20 Deluxe, Stunning Snow, and Stunning 27.
The entire range of common themes is here including golden lamps, fruits, stars, vampires, and more.
Some quite unique games include The Best New York Food and Bonnie and Clyde, as well as Mad Men & Nuclear War.
Our first impression - Book of Gods
The games look as good and play as well as NetEnt or Play'n Go titles on the first pass.
Animations are brief, succinct, and meaningful. Perhaps better than most.
The sound effects are very well done with depth and body not usually found in an online slot.
The user experience does include the need to click the spin button twice after a win - a quirk unique to central and eastern European games, most likely leftover to accommodate user habit from the time when all machines allowed a double or nothing bet after a win.
Book of Gods also had 10 fixed paylines, which is again, standard fair for the bulk of the region's games.
For a game of 96.12% RTP, all else was bog standard except that wilds also acted as scatter symbols. Also different was that 3 scatters trigger 10 free games with an extra scatter symbol added to the reels which increase the chance to retrigger free games.
Without seeing the mathematics, the free spins feature (along with a 500x line bet max win in the base game) tells us that a good portion of the RTP comes from the feature game.
This can add to anticipation after landing two scatters and elation when the third falls in somewhere on the reels.
However, like any volatile game with pure maths, the much-anticipated bonus round can return naught on occasion.
Second Impression Joker Spin
Clowns and fruits lend to the atmosphere of this game with red 7s and gold bells.
There's not a lot special about this game other than the fact it feels nostalgic while still delivering semi-modern feature mechanics.
There are twenty paylines (fixed, of course) on this 5x3 reelset. Look for wilds, sticky wild respins, scatters, free spins with a multiplier, and a gamble game.
All in all not my favorite type of slot but we are choosing games at random to get a complete picture for you. So, we'll play another half hour or so to see what happens if and when a feature is triggered.
Landing 3 scatters paid 20x total bet and awarded 15 free games x2 multiplier.
The Sticky Wilds mechanic was removed from the reels but regular Joker wilds remained.
Free spins were not automatic, you have to click for each new spin. The gamble game is not active during free games.
Free games gathered another +/- 20 total stake for a total feature win of 38.5 times triggering stake. Ho-hum.
Assuming all of the "Book of..." games are equal aside from theme, etc. we decided to try The Best New York Food but the layout and icons were simply too much to bear. I felt like I was in a Parlay casino in 1998.
Next, we tried Bonnie and Clyde. In this game they get the minimalistic retro art down to a science with a pulp fiction feel adding to the game experience.
With each spin, you'll be eating up the road alongside the dastardly duo because the highway rolls up at you behind the reel set.
Expanding wilds on the three central reels and random 3x multipliers add to the suspense, anticipation, and excitement for this title.
During the base game, the lower-paying symbols are some of the letters of Bonnie's name rather than 9, 10, J, Q, etc.
Three or more scattered Hearts trigger free games. Choose one symbol to trigger 5, 10, 15, 20, or 30 free spins. A new set of reels is used during the free spins feature with no wild symbols.
During free games, the individual Bonnie and Clyde symbols will appear randomly with Bonnie covering three diagonal reels and Clyde filling four symbols in a block anywhere except on reel 5.
Landing a Jukebox on each of the three central reels triggers a picking game. Choose one Wheel symbol to win a 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, or 50x multiplier of the total bet or nothing at all.
The Final Analysis
BF Games provides a variety of services and products to the industry and players alike. The variety of games seems to be designed to appeal to a wide audience rather than being reiterations of the same mechanics and themes.
That said, we found it interesting in our random sampling that wild symbols were removed from the reels during bonus spins and wonder how that affects the maths. It's not possible to assume anything as there are new reel sets in play during the bonus games.
While games like Joker Spin fell flat with our review, Book of Gods was as good as anything that came out in the early 2000s, with better art, animation, and sound FX than most games.
Bonnie and Clyde could become a favorite but we were unable to trigger the bonus spins in order to find out. The style and execution are pulled off really well, except for the strange dance the duo performs when their common wild symbol activates.
