NitroCasino Review Jump to comments
Nitro Casino is a Malta-licensed online gambling site launched in 2020 by the former Betpoint Group which rebranded to PressEnter Group in October 2021 as announced that October. The group’s genesis is that of a single operator who simply grew and grew as more and more customers came on board. As of the time of this review, there are 6 gaming sites listed on their Malta Gaming Authority license.
Look for well over 1,000 gaming titles from about 60 of the top providers including Microgaming, NetEnt, Evolution, and Pragmatic Play. The games, including live dealer streams, are available for instant play on any operating system with a web browser and a connection to the internet.
The site is available in multiple languages like French, English, Finnish, Norwegian, Japanese, and even Korean.
There are over a dozen payment methods available for deposits and withdrawals including region-specific options such as InstaDebit in Canada, iDebit, Trustly, Klarna, and Venus Point for Asia and beyond. Daily and monthly payout limits are higher than many other top-tier sites and much higher than most.
Welcome bonuses and ongoing promotions may vary by region but we found a three-stage offer with a 100% match on the first deposit. The wagering requirements might be a little tough on the first deposit offer. However, since they only apply to the bonus given, not the deposit amount, cashouts from the second and third stages may be easier to achieve for those who don’t get lucky on the first try.
Let’s take a look at the company and state of affairs…
Alternatively, you can skip on down to software and games or any other part of the review if you prefer. Another option would be to simply go play if you are the type of gambler who prefers to suss out a new-to-you-site on your own. It’s all good!
About the operator
It may not be the sexiest of information to read about, but an online gambling site’s history and associations are critically important for us to be aware of in order to present a complete picture to our loyal readers. Especially in the case of rebranding - that can happen for one of two reasons or a combination of sub-reasons.
What we find here is the most positive type of rebranding. Firstly, all of the properties have retained their original names, service levels, and customer satisfaction awareness. Players might not even know that something has changed behind the scenes. But we are aware, so we’ll take a look at what that means.
While each individual property in the group, including this one, continues to function just as before, there’s new energy behind the management group itself - a new CEO and an ambition to become an “industry power player”. The former boss at ComeOn, Lahcene Merzoug is the new CEO as of May 2021.
Players and partners can be on the lookout for new brands, new markets, and new ways to play including the addition of sports to some sites. Also look for PressEnter to start picking up other popular brands to build their stable of operators beyond the existing line up of 21.com, JustSpin, Neon Vegas, Nitro, Ultra, and Rapid casinos.
As we always do, we took a deep look at any history of complaints for the group, examined the terms for any predatory or unfair conditions, and got a feeling for the pulse of the community when it comes to customer satisfaction.
We weren’t even able to find the normal contingent of uninformed new players not understanding bonus terms, sore losers out to ‘hit back’ after playing irresponsibly, or even shills or trolls on sites like Trustpilot.
Every interaction we’ve seen (representatives have always been available on player and advocate forums to settle disputes in public) has been handled fairly, amicably, and professionally.
That’s not to say that everything is perfect. Not all review sites tow the same line as we do here. I’ve been an independent contractor with World Casino Directory for over a decade. My remit is simple - review each and every casino, software provider, and any other commercial participant in the iGaming industry with full transparency.
I get nothing more or nothing less if I sprinkle stardust all over a name or drive by and splash it with shame. I mention this because deep inside some marketing contracts are terms against disparaging a brand - I couldn't care less and neither do my contract providers. My job is simply to tell it like it is.
What we find here is a record of fair play and fair practices with a few incidences of slow pays, extended document verification times, and the occasional “whodunit” related to transposed account numbers on bank wires. Players are always paid and most are paid within 72 hours per the terms and conditions. Payouts within hours have also been reported.
Some players without much experience in online casino cashier banking - especially in LATAM, have had to resubmit a few times and some players regardless of location have been required to change their withdrawal method (to the same as the deposit) just like anywhere else. Also, due to MGA KYC rules, some documents may need to be re-verified after 90 days.
Each of those potential pitfalls has a solution on the player’s end and none of them actually rise to the level of a valid complaint. That amounts to a green light in this reviewer’s opinion with the caveat that you let customer service help you if you ever have an issue. The best news is that they are empowered to and will help you. Direct support can also be found in the public forums.
With that, let’s take a look at the…
Software and Games
The user interface here couldn’t be laid out more smartly or more simply. The top-level menu can send players to games, promotions, or back to the lobby.
Entering the games section opens up a lot more potential to choose your personal journey. The page loads with a sub-menu of links such as Featured, New, Slots, VideoPoker, Table Games, Live, All Games, and the ability to filter by the provider or alphabetically.
Another option is to simply scroll down the page for more choices.
These choices include Featured, Games by theme, etc. The themes at this “Built for Speed” site include the following:
- Asia
- Sticky Wilds
- Megaways
- Drops and Wins
- Falling Symbols
- Feature Buy
- High Volatility
- Egypt
- Books
- Sports
- Live Blackjack
- Live Game Shows
- Live Roulette
- Live Baccarat
- Table Games
- TV
- Music
Wow…
This is one of the most highly curated and best-categorized libraries of slots and other games out there. Whatever you feel like playing - whatever mood you are in, there’s a whole aisle of titles to choose from.
The sorting and filtering options allow for exacting selection without eventually disintegrating into absolute granularity.
Of course, it would be nice to take the high volatility category and break that down further by the theoretical return to player percentages (RTP), hit frequency, and other qualities but they would probably have to ban any of those games from bonus play. It seems that they have found a happy medium while not starving the discerning slot player of choices.
Unfortunately, the interface falls a little short in one area - the list of providers doesn’t get less populated when you choose a game type - which just means you can't choose table games and then choose a provider on a single screen. Conversely, you can’t choose a provider and then see only slots or video poker from that provider.
Let’s take a look at some of the themes..!
Of course, there will be some overlap or redundancy in any of the thematic categories since many slots will have more than one of these qualities. Sakura Fortune is bound to show up in Asian and Sticky Wilds, and Peking Luck will show up in Asian and High Volatility, etc. Some of the titles, such as a highly volatile game with Megaways, Feature Buys, Drops and Wins, and any other qualities can show up in most of the categories.
You might ask yourself…
Why does this lobby look so fresh?
It took me a little while to notice the reason after asking myself: “Why do these all look like new games at first glance?”
The designers have simply created new icons for all of the games. They are instantly recognizable, and you will know them by the titles too, but each thumbnail for a game is a work of studio art only found at gaming sites within the group. Now, that’s some clever branding if you ask me. It also makes me want to play some games that may have lost their luster over the course of time - the new images bring up new feelings inside me.
Megaways slots
When we visited, this section was well-stocked with nearly 40 titles using the Big Time Gaming mechanic that has swept the online slot world by storm. Among the developers that have added up to more than 100,000 ways to win to their own games include:
Kalamba’s Machina (delivered via Relax Gaming’s Silver Bullet RGS) features three different personal progressive Cashpot Jackpots, a buy bonus feature with four bet levels, symbol collection for extra spins, and morphing symbols on top of all the other advanced feature mechanics that should make this any dystopian sci-fi fans go-to slot.
ReelPlay’s Hypernova Megaways is another space thriller with near-infinite possibilities. There’s no lack of options in themes and providers in this section
Live blackjack
All of the other live game types have great selections as well, but the blackjack section here really shines and shows off the offering.
The section is headed up by Pragmatic Play Live titles followed by Evolution Gaming. Pragmatic offers over two dozen titles with various rule sets, side bets, and table limits with Evolution coming in with just under a dozen.
With more than 30 different choices in blackjack play from Evolution’s Blackjack Party with unlimited bet behind to Salons Privé and everything in between, any live blackjack player is bound to find a favorite table and a favorite dealer whether playing on the big screen at home or filling in some time on a mobile device between tasks.
Live game shows
Pragmatic Play Live runs two social games for real money in this section and both of them allow play for as little as $0.10 per game. Mega Roulette and the Mega Wheel also feature the company’s proprietary Drops & Wins to encourage engaged play and to reward players for choosing the brand.
Evolution is constantly rolling out new game show titles and social-oriented games. If you are a fan of Gonzo’s Quest, try playing the community slot version on big reels with Evolution’s Gonzo’s Treasure Hunt.
If an interactive multi-player game like Monopoly is more to your liking, Evolution’s Monopoly Live with a sort of augmented reality bonus round might be for you. Additional games as of review time include:
- Lightning Roulette
- Mega Ball
- Crazy Time
- Dream Catcher
- Deal or No Deal
- Instant Roulette
- Lightning Dice
All live games
In the full Live games suite, you’ll find every manner of floor game from craps with a robot dice shooter and live croupier in a speakeasy tavern environment, suspenders and all to speed baccarat, high dollar Sic Bo, dozens of roulette games, and plenty of poker including Hold’em games with optional progressive jackpot side bets.
Bonuses and Promotions
Most of the big money bonus value here is in the Welcome Package with much higher limits on the second and third deposits than on the full match first deposit bonus. While the first offer is capped at $100, there is no max cashout involved and wagering is on the bonus amount only.
The total package is worth $5,000 in percentage bonuses.
Neteller, Skrill, and Paysafe deposits are not eligible for bonuses. Wagering on deposit bonuses must be completed within 21 days.
Note: “In order to claim a deposit Free Spins offer, the deposited money is subject to a 5x wagering requirement.”
All depositing players are eligible for second chances and extra spins, but the value isn’t really there beyond entertainment unless you get extraordinarily lucky. Yes, you can turn the spins into real money but winnings are almost always capped. On the bright side of that is that the current max NDB/Free Spin cashout is a generous $250.
I guess they have to limit the value considering the fact they had 3 million free spins budgeted for 2021 alone.
Free spins bonuses can have different wagering requirements - please see terms. Free spins and other no deposit bonuses are good for 24 hours.
Max bet with a bonus is EUR/USD/CAD/NZD 5 or SEK/NOK 50
Additional incentives change over the course of time be currently comprise:
- New game promotions
- Drops and Wins
- Live dealer Drops and Wins
- Daily Reward
- Sunday Boost
Banking and Customer Service
The minimum deposit is very low here and the maximum withdrawal threshold is better than most with up to $150,000 per month at $5,000 per day/transaction. We count some 15 payment methods from Visa/Mastercard and bank wires to market-specific options such as InstaDebit and Interac for Canada - Nordea, iDebit, and Trustly - MuchBetter, Skrill, Neteller and ecoPayz, and even Venus Point for those who are familiar or have a need for it such as players in Japan or other Asian countries. Revolut can also be used for deposits and withdrawals.
The terms and conditions state that the cashier will endeavor to process pending withdrawals within 72 hours of the request. We’ve seen quicker processing and we’ve seen slower times when documents need to be verified.
Plan on updating certain documents every 90 days in accord with the regulator's KYC requirements and EU anti-money laundering directives.
Live help is available via the chat icon and contact info is provided on the web page. There is also a comprehensive FAQs section covering the following broad topics with more detailed information available within each category:
- Getting started
- Verify my account
- Bonus and Free Spins
- Banking
- KYC
- SOF
Responsible gambling tools include Account Deposit Limits - Session Reminders - Account Cool offs - Account Self-exclusion - Account Closures
Pitfalls
There aren’t any traps to be found per se but no single site can be considered ideal for every single player. Many of the drawbacks found here are the result of robust gaming regulation and not choices by the operator so they are not unique to this casino. Some of the following might be of interest depending on your priorities:
- No live dealer bonuses beyond Drops and Wins (random prizes)
- No comp points or listed cashback offers
- Small/short time window on free spins wagering (24 hours)
- Hard to find bonus details (do cash bets count toward wagering requirements?)
- Long potential pending time could encourage reversals (72 hours)
The Final Word
Nitro Casino promises lightning-fast action and it delivers. Unfortunately, that does not always translate into lightning-fast payouts. Players who may have trouble staying out of the lobby for 72 hours after a big win should consider using the responsible gambling tools to help avoid playing back any winnings.
The game selection is great and the presentation is fresh, which almost makes it feel like every game is new. Novel titles roll out quickly here with releases staying on the cutting edge. There are some database weaknesses such as not being able to sort and filter at the same time but that could be more down to a personal pet peeve than something other players might find to be a barrier to frictionless entertainment.
I especially like having high volatility games segregated for easy access as well as Megaways slots. The basic “themes” categories make it easy to slide from an Egyptian mood into something different like TV shows including Peaky Blinders, Game of Thrones, or Highlander branded titles, or even music-themed slots like Deadmau5, Saxon, Twisted Sister, or DJ Wild.
The loyalty scheme is extremely simplified here with daily rewards and a goal of releasing 3,000,000 free spins in any given year. I would not be likely to log in to collect a single spin. However, the incentive for accepting that daily spin is that the top 7 daily winners each take a share in 3,500 spins and you only have to make a deposit once every 30 days to participate. Wagering is 21x and you can withdraw up to $5,000 if your lucky streak holds.
While the current 100% match up to $100 certainly can’t be sneezed at, I wasn’t able to find in terms whether the wagering requirements only count on bonus funds or if all bets count - there is a marked difference in value if that’s the case.
Players shouldn’t be left to infer that something left out is an enforceable term: “Real money will always be used first when you have both real money and bonus money in your account”. That does not necessarily mean anything in regard to what counts for wagering and a term stating you can cancel the bonus does not clear it up either.
That being said, the (lack of) term is far from predatory but could greatly disappoint some players. On balance, it’s simply something they should make more clear because even though I can have a bad day, I am not your average player - I judge T&C for others almost daily, so they might want to make it clearer for everyone.
All told I see great things for this entire group of sites and all they add in the future. Players have nothing to worry about because winners are always paid. Another small level of assurance is that the new CEO of PressEnter Group is also an investor and he has never left a mess in his wake. He will most likely make personally sure that Nitro and every other group casino continues to perform as they have in the past - not generating complaints, constantly attracting a larger player base, and rewarding every player with the chance to win every day whether they have deposited lately or not.
