About the Company

Storm Gaming Technology is a land-based and online HTML5 game developer based in the United Kingdom. Founded in 2002 by CEO Richard Sheldon, the company has over 3,000 digital kiosks installed in more than a dozen countries. The company is also owned by industry veteran, Stephen Murray and backed by equity capital, with some investors on the board.

As the online gambling sphere matures, many lines are being blurred by innovative companies like SGT. With a wealth of experience in bringing land-based gaming solutions and platforms to casino operators in the United Kingdom, Spain, Holland, Belgium, and Croatia, SGT has expanded their reach by crafting innovative partnerships with companies like Core Gaming of the UK and CashBet of the US.

The company signed a deal in late 2015 with Core Gaming giving them access to Core's online portfolio which allows SGT to reproduce the content for casinos in their land-based markets. A scant four months later SGT's Pharaoh's Wild slot appeared at Sky Vegas in cooperation with Core.

The company has two websites, one does not reference online systems or games and the other mostly duplicates the original with the addition of online content section. The company provides games that are based on their UK street market successes to UK and other EU licensed operators.

Games such as Captain Cashfall, Mandarin Orchid, Carry On Camping, Bar Star, Pharaoh's Wild, and Railroad Riches transcend online and in person machine play and deliver the same unique experience no matter the device used to access the games.

Bar Star is a simple looking and straightforward 5-reel game with 10 pay lines that pay left to right, right to left, and outward from the center giving (10+10+5+5) 30 ways to win, as awards are paid for matching 3, 4, or 5 symbols. Love Island is a branded game from ITV Broadcasting with romantic and fun beach-centric symbols based on the reality dating television show. Landing three scatters triggers five free games. The free games can be retriggered, and each retrigger increases the multiplier by 1x. A thermometer shows the multiplier progress up to 4 levels. The Final Analysis

While Bar Star definitely has its appeal and games like Pharaoh's Wild are worth their weight in spun gold, Love Island would be better played in a pub atmosphere as every movement of coin value goes through several steps and the game gives win celebration for paltry returns like 5x total stake. Those elements plus the lag between spins are enough to turn me toward another game quickly.

The company itself seems to be doing everything right to be ready for the next big change in online gaming short of augmented or virtual reality. It's an old-school company with plenty of mid-level private equity. The games are all certainly worth a try and may appeal to some people more than they will to others.
