Dazard Casino Review Jump to comments

Dazard Casino is an online gambling site that operates on the SoftSwiss platform. The site was launched in 2021 by industry veterans, Dama N.V., and is operated under a Curacao eGaming license (8048/JAZ2020-013) from Master License Antillephone.

Look for about 5,000 game choices here from Amatic to Yggdrasil and from Betsoft to Pragmatic play. All told, there are more than 100 developers, studios, labs, and providers feeding the catalog a world-class selection of top-tier games.

While Dama may “own and operate” over 40 labels or storefronts, some managerial decisions are left up to the owner of the label itself, as far as we’ve been able to determine. So, while Millionaria is Dazard’s only direct sister site, it also enjoys the company of legendary operators such as Bitstarz and Oshi to name but two.

The welcome bonus is fairly generous, wagering is liberal (40xb+fs win) and there aren’t any max cashout limits on the amount you can win. Here s a bit of a governor on your odds though with a max bet of €1 per spin - some will mind, others not so much.

Aside from being “the whole package”, a finely tuned and well-curated place to play, the site features all the virtual creature comforts and deep support structure any player would want, it also has the distinction of being one of those Dama (formerly Direx NV) sites that simply don’t generate many player complaints to speak of.

Payouts are quick - instant to 24 hours, and the daily (€5000), weekly (€10k), and monthly (€30k) withdrawal limits are tolerable if not ideal.

Perhaps as a matter of luck or other good fortunes, the site happened to open shortly after a fairly major disruption in SoftSwiss systems that was beyond anyone's control in the business, had been set right. So while the sites still must operate in a bit of low transparency (secrecy from certain Eastern European governments) mode, “all systems are go” from game procurement and delivery to frictionless banking in both directions as well as consistent and capable customer support.

Since some sites are held up as the golden standard by several highly respected and long-lived player advocate sites, and this one has so far operated as if it is one of the creme de la cremes, there’s not much sense digging too deep into “step-sister-sites” that have had some player satisfaction errors in the past.

However, when individual managers or label owners in a jurisdiction like Malta start to catch flack from regulators on issues beyond KYC and AML (know your client, anti-money laundering) and start acting more like nanny-state enforcers while genuinely trying to protect vulnerable persons (gambling addicts) those site operators tend to let it run downhill - because they have to. The vast majority of problems players have with these sites is in document verification.

The players who have been frustrated due to Source of Wealth (SoF/W) requests are usually the loudest, and who could blame them? It’s understandable the government would require money handlers to know the source of deposits if there are other indicators of foul deeds. Asking for the source of funds in relation to paying out a bet already made and won is simply a bridge too far in this reviewer’s opinion. The time to do that if you are ever going to, is before the gambling begins, period.

None of the above is to say that any given player will have document issues here any more than anywhere else. However, since there is really nothing much else to complain about (everything else is fine-tuned and well-lubricated) those seem to be the complaints we have seen over the course of time. Occasional slow document verification and the occasional SoF request that must be processed.

Anecdotally, I’d say that players in eastern Europe are most likely to experience document verification delays, while players in LatAm may experience payout delays if they don’t do their homework on outward-bound payments before depositing. Geographic areas with a relatively high volume of players and a very low volume of complaints include Canada, Germany, and Oceania including New Zealand and others.

There is one other area of concern, which is also anecdotal as we have never seen the actual evidence or even detailed accusations, but the “bonus abuse” clause has been invoked more than once across the three dozen or so operations, and “players” have had their winnings seized for using unspecified “systems” to beat the casino while using a bonus. The operators never get specific in public or even in providing proof to an advocate (trade secrets, proprietary security, etc.), and the players almost never give much detail on their gameplay.

Frankly, unless someone is using a bot to click and fast clicking somehow cheats the casino (it can’t), is using AI to predict patterns (none exist so why bother), or is using a computer or other device outside of their head to count cards at blackjack or baccarat - so what if they use a “system” to beat the bonus. Factor it into your bottom line and catch it before they play. Don’t offer some players bonuses. If you do, and they win, pay the player and then ban them from your property. But a bet laid IS a bet paid notwithstanding any brigand terms that may exist to pretend otherwise.

Again, this clause is rarely used and when it is I tend to think it is a matter of responding to collusion or robotics, not just a player being ‘smart’ enough to beat a bonus. Is Martingale or the like a problem? Then don’t allow roulette or simply restrict the max bet. How hard is it?

Since the operator seems to be taking care of their end of the deal - operating without complaints, and it is among others that exemplify excellence and are the very personification of a near-ideal online casino gaming experience, we’ll spend the rest of the time here looking a little closer at the software and games, the bonuses and promotions, banking and customers service and any pitfalls we may discover before giving it a wrap with a final word or two.

Software and Games

Operating on the SoftSwiss platform has been a net positive for several years now. While the first few sites were cryptocurrency pioneers, you don’t even need to know BTC from BCH to play on it now. It’s still one of the best ways to deposit and withdraw if you like instant payments but it’s far from necessary.

The software is easy for any operator to administer and has been very stable for nearly a decade, after a few bumps in the road in the earliest days.

Game aggregation is accomplished from a library of over 11,000 games from more than 150 different providers. Of course, Dazard didn’t just plug in every available game, administrators selected their own package of only the best of the best games. With about 110 software providers on board here, the total slot count (as of review time) is 4,776.

The live lobby is ablaze with hot games from Absolute Gaming, Playtech, Pragmatic Live, LuckyStreak, FashionTV, and more with plenty of region-specific titles and native language dealers and felts for players almost everywhere.

For players that do prefer playing with Crypto as a currency, there’s an entire section of games with the user interface configured for play in your currency and they are not all BGaming and Endorphina games. You’ll find hits like DJ Wild, Hidden, Electric Sam, Nitropolis, and others.

Variety of games

Of course, with so many providers there are bound to be new-to-you studios and games for all but the most prolific players. Look for names like Zillion, Reallifegames, Hotrisegames, Bulletproof, Print Studios, and more.

Unfortunately, we didn’t find demo or practice mode available without logging in when we explored the two-title "Zillion" catalog; the one-game "Reellifegames" options, or the two games listed as "Hotrisegames". The splash art was awesome, and we’ll definitely explore these further at a later time.

Navigation

The game catalog or rather the database containing the game links is just sort of ‘plopped down’ on the page without a lot of thought going into how players could best use it. Maybe they thought that keeping it simple - choose this that, or the other - would be the best way to go. I, for one, prefer all elements to work together at least to some degree. If I choose a game category like “Live” and then access the drop-down menu of providers, I only expect to see live streaming providers listed. That is not the case here.

Within the icon-driven horizontal menu along the top of the page, we find the following categories:

  • Lobby
  • Slots
  • Tables
  • Live
  • Crypto
  • Bonus Buy
  • Megaways

Choose a section such as “Slots” and the page simply loads with game icons. Scroll through them all and you’ll need to choose “Show More” to carry on. It’s not a very sophisticated system considering the fact your eyes would bleed before you ever got to the bottom of the list. It’s also not at all apparent why the games are in the order they are presented in.

Are the most popular ones at the top and does that hold true until you get to the 4,776th game which we might assume nobody ever plays? Or is it based on payouts or even operator profit? They aren’t presented in alphabetical order, so I guess it’s just a mystery.

Oh yeah…

I’ve got to try that one!

How on earth did I ever miss the release of Break da Bank Again Megaways? Looking into it very briefly we see that Microgaming Studio Partner Gameburger got the honor of bringing a new classic into the full light of day with Big Time Gaming’s blessings (and some licensing fees, of course).

Break da Bank was an edge-of-your-seat 3-reel teeth-clencher in its own right back in the day and then “Again” came along and knocked it out of the park using five reels and nine paylines. The 5x multiplier wilds in the base game that went up to 25x during the free spins sealed the deal for some huge wins. Now, this?

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised considering there was another version too - Hyperspins & Respins, but I digress. I think this is Microgaming's first 4-title franchise.

This version has 6 vertical reels. Icon sizing makes it so that there can be as few as 2 symbols on a reel or as many as 8. Across the top, we find another reel but this one is horizontal and always has four symbols. The end result on the stilled reels under this configuration renders anywhere from 64 to 117,649 ways to win.

Lobby

This is where you'll custom categories not listed in the menus or anywhere else on the site. Scrolling down the page reveals Top games, New games, Jackpots, Hold & Win, and a specialty category - when we visited it was "Buffalo Games" and the list was fat with twenty titles. Among them were Megaways, hold and wins, and Playtech's Buffalo Blitz Live - a 6-reel slot with 4,096 ways-to-win and hosted by a live dealer.

Bonus Buy

Color me cynical, but I think I’d like to see a few things before I get too lost playing bonus buy games. Oh, I love the concept and yes, sometimes I sign in with no idea more of what will do in a session than start it with a few BB rounds rather than taking a bonus with terms and conditions - but I haven’t seen any regulations that say the theoretical return to player percentage has to be the same as 'regular’ play, nor any separate RTP for that particular bet posted in the pay tables.

What I’d really like to see is the PAR sheet for just one of these games, barring that, some in-depth data about hit frequency, bonus trigger frequency, the percentage of RTP expected to occur in the base game, and the bonus, whether the volatility remains the same in both mechanics, and a handful of other things.

For now, this is my strategy. Don’t take a bonus. Don’t gamble today, deposit 2x as much tomorrow. Open the next session with 1, 2, or 3 Bonus Buys with no more staked between them than 50% of my total bankroll. Win or lose from there, other strategies come into play all based on volatility and bankroll management - and those - depend entirely on my mood.

Megaways

I wasn’t paying much attention to this part of the industry in that brief interval when everyone got on the Megaways bandwagon and when Evolution acquired Big Time Gaming, so I don’t know which came first, the chicken or the egg. All I know for sure is these games are popular enough that an entire “game type” category has been created for them by many operators. It's often the first place I’ll head as well.

It’s simply insane how many developers are plugging the mechanic into revamped and popular older games as well as creating whole new games around it to take full advantage of the features. Dazard currently offers about 35 titles, but that could certainly change by the time you read this.

The top suppliers by numbers in this category are Pragmatic Play and iSoftBet. The third provider, Quickfire, is non-descript as it’s just an aggregator platform but those games come from Microgaming Studio Partners, Buck Stakes (4 Diamond Blues), Gameburger (Break da Bank Again), Storm (Magic Merlin’s, Monsters of Rock), etc. GamesInc and BGaming also get in on the fun here.

Most of the Megaways games I play also have a bonus buy. Some also have a bet booster of sorts that’s supposed to double the chance of triggering the feature. From there, several offer the option to set your own volatility based on the number of spins and multiplier with all being roughly equal (10 spins 3x, 15 spins 2x, etc.) and some have another option with a random number of spins accompanied by a random multiplier. Starting a game with 15 free spins and a progressive multiplier beginning at 10x is a strong temptation - of course.

Table games

This section of random number generator (RNG) games includes everything from branded scratch cards like AMC’s The Walking Dead to iSoftBet video poker, as well as animated blackjack, roulette, Hold’Em, and Sic Bo to name a few.

Live dealers

Look for Playtech’s Quantum Blackjack Plus, all of the fun gameshow-type offerings from Pragmatic Play, some serious fun from Absolute Live Gaming, and perhaps LuckyStreak’s entire table count when the place gets hopping.

It’s an interesting mix of studio-provided games, some from casino floors, and plenty of language diversity as well as specialty games mostly enjoyed in certain regions.

It would be interesting to see the data on the game of Sic Bo. Only a few live streams provide the game, but as purely Asian as the game is I’ve never looked at it like that. You’ll find the game here, live. If there was ever a game that offered all of the elements of roulette (odd/even-specific number) but held the opportunity to go big on the odds, this is the game.

Yes, you can grind blackjack hands and throw some volatility in here or there on a high house edge side bet, but where else are you going to hit 180:1 with most of your other bases covered? Check it out, it’s worth a look if you like to tempt the fates, gamble from the gut, and ease right back into nearly even money without breaking your stride.

Playtech’s live offering seemed to be almost asleep for a few years if you were playing in European or Caribbean-licensed casinos like I was. It’s good to see them offer that cutting-edge thrill to players almost everywhere again.

If you aren’t familiar with Playtech Live, where one provider might use some ‘greenscreen chroma’ tech to change the logo on the felt, Playtech augments the entire studio and brings in the thrill found in some of their slot games in other ways.

Personally? I’ll pass on Pragmatic Play’s cutesy gameshow stuff, it’s still a little weak compared to Evolution, but to each their own. Here, Playtech has the experience and serious gamblers will find Absolute Gaming accommodating. Other lobby portals seem to come and go. When we visited from a certain Asian country (via VPN) TVBet was available.

All told, it’s a good mix - unique today, but maybe a blueprint for the future.

Bonuses and Promotions

Dazard wants you to play. They are going to kick in something to get you going. There is no free lunch. If you take the bonus money your gambling will be restricted in certain ways.

The rollover here is not terrible at all. Wagering requirements are currently 40x the amount of the bonus and that includes any wins from FS.

  • The wagering requirement is 40xb

It’s all good if you don’t mind playing the games they let you play - and - if you don’t mind betting only €1 per spin. It’s a nice way to play for real money with at least twice as many chances.

  • The max bet with the Welcome bonus is €1 per spin - subsequent offers raise that to €5

Also, look for deposit bonuses on Fridays and up to 50 FS on Wednesdays. Wagering is 40xb and the max bet is €5 per spin.

The VIP program has 17 levels of status with increasing rewards as you work your way up the ladder. From your first deposit, you will earn one point for every €10 wagered. Ratios become even more favorable over time with increased play.

Upon receiving the IMPERATOR status, the player receives the main prize, the Lamborghini Urus supercar.

Every deposit of €20 or more awards at least one ticket into the bi-weekly lottery draw. Players can have more than one winning ticket in any given draw. The larger your deposit, the lower the ‘cost’ of a ticket so larger depositors do have better chances of winning more.

Tournaments are usually based on certain providers’ games. Pragmatic Play’s Drop & Wins are active here. Yggdrasil’s bonusing engine is lit up on certain slots as well. This month the third participant is Booongo Games with a 30,000 EUR prize pool.

Banking and Customer Service

The cashier supports several fiat currencies and a good selection of cryptos. Deposit in NZD and similar, EUR, USD, CAD, JPY, INR, etc. The minimum deposit is reasonable at €20 and that goes for the withdrawal minimum as well at €30.

Payout limits are set at €5,000 per day, €10,000 per week, and €30,000 per month with any cash out larger than that being broken up into installments to meet the thresholds.

Pending time is stated as up to 24 hours but many players report receiving their winnings within an hour. Bank transfers can take up to 3 business days.

Venus Point is available for players in Japan or elsewhere who prefer the method. iDebit, Interac, and ecoPayz are handy as well as Much Better, SIRU, and MiFinity. All common cards are accepted and top Euro eWallets are supported.

The site is available in German, English, Spanish, French, and Russian while live chat and email support are available around the clock. No phone support is provided.

Pitfalls

  • No phone support
  • Limited ongoing bonuses
  • May require Skype interview for document verification depending on circumstances

The Final Word

Dazard Casino checks all the boxes ✅ and doesn't raise any red flags. While some dolphins have been caught in the tuna net of document verification before, that is just a sign that security here takes their job seriously. At a minimum, you know that nobody else could use your identity so you can play your heart out, safe and sane, and enjoy your gambling mood.

The game selection is phenomenal and it's nice that they have separate categories for crypto games, bonus buy slots, and Megaways. I'd like to see the Megaways inventory expanded two or three-fold, but there are over 30 titles available now including some iSoftBet games I haven't tried yet.

While there isn't a specific category in the menu for new games, fresh releases are labeled as "new" so they are easy enough to spot outside of the lobby - and in the lobby, they do have a section that can be expanded further by tapping or clicking "Show all".

Banking is a breeze and most players will have an easy time with document verification.

I think the main reason that element looks larger than it might be in reality is that all of the operations run on a single specific protocol that leaves no room for error as a matter of regulations and security for the casinos and the players. If they do everything else right and players don't have anything else to get frustrated by, and you have upward of 40 labels with some stretching back a decade or so - document verification issues might just echo much louder than they are in reality.

i was about to signup and deposit - another dama casino, it gives nothing more than assurance about low max cashout from freespins and overall no free bonuses for the players, but the welcome bonus are often worth it (then leave :D). but when i saw that 1 eur max bet while wagering the first deposit bonus, headed out immediately. BEWARE! 1 EUR MAX BET BONUS WAGERING RULE!
