TornadoBet Casino Review Jump to comments

TornadoBet is a multilingual online casino that also features Golden Race 3D virtual sports and a sportsbetting component.

The Curacao-licensed site is owned and operated by Media Entertainment N.V. They also have several international subsidiaries - one in Costa Rica, seemingly not gambling-related as well as Cyprus-based and Malta-based payment processors.

The company has a sublicense issued by the Master License holder, Curacao Interactive Licensing N.V. [(C.I.L) #5536/JAZ]. The site may have been launched as early as 2009 on another domain. However, the current URL has more likely been the residence of TornadoBet since no earlier than 2019.

Look for an impressive array of slots and random number generator-based tables and card games along with a multi-provider live dealer suite.

Following is a list of current game providers. The selection is constantly updated so please see "Software Platform" drop-down on this page or visit for an up-to-the-minute listing.

We don't find any complaints about TornadoBet. However, some properties under the same management have an uneven history in player fairness and T&C enforcement.

It should be kept in mind that many sportsbook-centric sites that also have casinos simply don't respond on public forums and unresolved complaints may have been resolved with no follow-up or even unresolved because a player didn't follow up.

We find one complaint about a sister site where a player failed to complete a 10-minute Skype verification of her account. The account was closed and the deposit was refunded after the player was unable to schedule the task after several months.

Other complaints about a sister site remain unresolved in the public forum, some have to do with not honoring self-exclusion requests to the players' expectations, but purportedly in accord with T&C.

The most frustrating items of unfinished business involve tens of thousands of dollars with neither side following up with proof of their assertions. These cases involve document verification on very sizable sums (4 and 5 digits).

Without access to the actual verification documents or the tools to vet them, we cannot render a definitive opinion. That said, when such a dispute arises it is incumbent upon the accusing party to provide proof of fraud and to the best of our knowledge, Media Entertainment N.V. failed to do that.

To view the single claim we found on the world's biggest online gambling forum, you can read the Direct Casino Support forum on LCB.org. An official representative has been available to players on the forum since late 2017.

We only find the previously mentioned Skype identity verification complaint lodged in about half a decade between all four sister sites - LSBet, ReloadBet, SlottoJam, and TornadoBet.

Software and Games

The site operates on the management company's proprietary Offside Gaming Platform.

This allows them to integrate several distinct gambling opportunities into a single site. Bettors can go to sports or live betting and never have to think about the casino components as well as the other way around.

The sophistication of the platform approaches the cutting-edge-ultimate and is simplicity itself.

The live dealer games are accessed from within the full casino lobby. Visitors can click here and never notice there is also a sportsbook module plugged in at all if betting on sports is not something they care about.

Since the new breed of virtual sports doesn't fit neatly into either section, Virtuals have their own directory here as well.

All games can be played on any device with some built specifically for mobile.

One area that needs improvement is harmony between the user interface and the user experience. More clearly, part of the interface function negatively impacts the user experience. The game sorting and filtering have a cold spot that keeps this reviewer from feeling that game navigation is intuitive.

After wiggling switches and lighting up game categories (that can take several seconds to transition) I finally realized that clicking on "provider" toggled an arrow down or to the right. With the arrow pointing down, each game category I clicked after that eventually lit up, populating the area directly below the menu with studio names.

Navigation hint: First select a game category such as slots or table games - then toggle the providers button to see which studios or aggregators are represented in the library.

From there, the list would populate immediately with games from the selected supplier.

Players today expect instant play to be instant. The good news is that once I selected a game from the Play'n GO, iSoftBet, or any other provider's list, the games loaded instantly as expected from an HTML5 platform.

With that, we can explore the game categories! Inside the casino lobby, we find...

  • Providers > ▽
  • Favorites
  • All games
  • Tom Horn
  • Slots
  • Top Games
  • Classic Slots
  • Live
  • Table Games
  • Other Games
  • First Person
  • Search Games

Tom Horn games

This category may have a mix of Tom Horn and iSoftBet games, but we didn't spend much time in it to determine that. When selected by the provider, it lists iSoftBet, but the games we noticed were Tom Horn titles. Our guess is that iSoftBet is supplying the Tom Horn games through their Game Aggregator Platform (GAP) as they've had a cooperation agreement since at least late 2016.

Look for titles such as 81 Frutas Grandes, GoldX, Feng Fu, The Cup, and Spinball to name a few.

Under the Slots category, we see an anomaly wherein they run the names Yggdrasil and Seamless together. However, we are not familiar with "Seamless", but both games in the directory were provided by Salsa Technology (formerly Patagonia Entertainment until 2020).

Salsa is an iGaming solutions provider with its own gaming and aggregator platforms as well as a game development studio.

The company develops bingo titles and other individually crafted games for all regulated markets in Latin America. Spain and Portugal are also important markets outside of Brazil and other LatAm markets.

Other notable providers in the well-populated slots category include Microgaming, NetEnt, Blueprint, and Betsoft.

Under the Classic Slots section, we find a previously unmentioned developer and supplier, CT Gaming (fka Casino Technology 1999-2019) along with about 50 other titles from the Bulgarian powerhouse that has created over 150 online slots and other games.

Table Games

The animated random number generator table and card games here are provided by iSoftBet, Microgaming, NetEnt, and Play'n GO.

With so many categories existing already, it's really no wonder they chose to place video poker titles in this category. To be fair, I have played video poker in Las Vegas with the machine recessed into a bar top, making it a quasi-table game of sorts.

Blackjack, roulette, and baccarat also populate this section with about 30 titles so there are plenty of paytable shopping opportunities as well as rules variants to explore for the serious gambler - not to mention, good variety for the average player.

Other Games

Look for more than a dozen titles from Salsa in this section. Video bingo is the name of the game in this LatAm appealing section from the former Patagonia Entertainment. Super Pachinko+ and Crystal Monsters look like fun titles.

Live Casino

Rather than populating the main suite with a mix of games from Evolution and VIVO, each has its own lobby and a small handful of new games occupy prominent positions in the main live lobby.

With the coming together of NetEnt and Evolution we see the first fruits in Gonzo’s Treasure Hunt™ - based on the legendary NetEnt Quest game.

It's a sort of augmented reality game show title hosted by Gonzo and a human host. The revolutionary title mixes slots play with the big board with a personalized treasure hunt and big prize multipliers.

In the provider's words: "Gonzo’s Treasure Hunt is a ground-breaking online live game show and the world’s first live casino game to bring together live and slots-style gameplay, and the first with the option to play in VR (Virtual Reality) mode."

The other game is Evolution's Craps Live. Where VIVO was the first to provide online craps, their inaugural offering was sort of clumsy and required two hosts at all times - one, the croupier, and the other the shooter.

The offering went offline for several years but with the resurgence in live gaming - largely driven by Evolution's aggressive campaign to populate nearly every online casino on earth with their product, their version has made a comeback - we'll get to that in a moment.

The feature game here is Evolution through and through. They've simply changed some of the rules a little bit to make it possible and have deployed a robotic arm to shoot the dice.

Nearly all of the bets you'd find in the floor game are available - but they also provide an "easy mode" where most of the more complicated bets are simply removed from the table and the user interface. With that option, anyone can play the game.

If that is still a bit intimidating for novices or beginners, they provide a 3D RNG version in the First Person library (also found on the main lobby menu) that lets people play at their own pace. When they are ready to enter a live game, they simply click GO LIVE and are immediately transported to the 1920's US speakeasy environment with a croupier in a white shirt and black suspenders and an atmosphere to inspire the mood.

The Evolution lobby itself is jam-packed with every imaginable game from game show favorites like Crazy Time and Dream Catcher to low minimum roulette, blackjack, poker, and baccarat titles alongside high limit games and a Salon Privé for high rollers.

Native language tables and dealers are available.

VIVO Gaming

VIVO has been in the business for over a decade and has expanded its studio games offering from the original Costa Rican facilities to gain more of a global footprint with newer studios in the Philippines. There are plenty of Spanish-speaking and LatAm favorites games in the suite.

Some of the games you might wander upon in this realm are:

  • American Roulette
  • Baccarat
  • Blackjack
  • Caribbean Studio
  • Casino Hold´Em
  • Craps
  • Dragon Tiger
  • European Roulette
  • Live Bingo
  • Sic Bo

Just another quick mention of VIVO's craps game. They were not only the first to offer craps to Latin-language-speaking peoples, they were the first to figure out how to provide the game to the internet arena at large.

Personal preference and expanded betting opportunities make this version a favorite of many players.

First Person games - Evolution

The concept here is simple and quite brilliant. The live dealer space has exploded in popularity over the last few years. However, some players have never felt quite comfortable jumping into a whole new world of gaming.

Enter - First Person

These games are essentially 3D animated random number generator versions of live games that Evolution serves. You can play the game at your own pace with no structured time elements between bets and no other players on chat, and you don't have to talk to a dealer (all optional in live games, anyway).

You can simply play the game, practice a strategy, build up a bankroll, whatever you want to do - and - if you ever get the urge, simply click the ‘GO LIVE’ button to be magically transported to the same game in a live dealer setting.

While we think it is brilliant and will convert players to live gaming, we also think they may have missed the mark in game selection.

I'll explain...

Baccarat, blackjack, Dragon Tiger, craps, Football Studio, roulette, Dream Catcher, Lightning Roulette, and Mega Ball are all very popular games with fairly well-known or highly recognizable counterparts on land and online.

However, it's our estimation that one of the greatest driving forces converting existing online RNG players (slots, etc.) was the introduction of highly volatile side bet games into the live gaming realm.

Adrenaline-inspired players rarely grind away at a 0.6% house edge awaiting a lucky streak in a blackjack session - but - give them a side bet that can pay 100x, 500x, or 1,000x their bet and we flock to the new games like hummingbirds to a flower.

With the company approaching a dozen First Person titles, and only Dragon Tiger and blackjack beckoning the thrill-seeker, we see a missed opportunity here. Hopefully, more side bet games will be deployed in the First Person series beyond Perfect Pairs and 21+3 side bets in blackjack and suited or unsuited side bets in Dragon Tiger.

Bonuses and Promotions

While the sports promotions lead on this page, the gaming incentives are listed separately.

Note: Promotions, not to mention terms and conditions overall, and those on individual offers do vary as time goes by. Please see the current welcome offer above or visit the site to read terms and search for any flash bonus offers.

Upon review, we found a welcome bonus comprising a % match of up to €200 followed by a smaller % Bonus up to €300 for the first two deposits.

Wagering requirements on both offers are 25 times the bonus plus the deposit (25xb+d).

The weightings are all over the board as far as wagering requirement differentials. Please see T&C.

Some games, including some progressive Microgaming slots, count 150%. That results in an effective wagering requirement of 16.67xb+d which is virtually unheard of nowadays.

Note: Microgaming pays progressive jackpot winnings directly to the player.

Most slots, plus American roulette (RNG) and several other games including Joker Poker count 100%

Some games, including a few slots, weigh in at 60%. This would put wagering on Microgaming's 3-reel Coach Potato and NetEnt's Jack Hammer 2 at an effective 41.66x wagering requirement.

Aside: Do you get the same feeling I'm getting here? Those ratios, along with other bonus terms, cannot be long-term and tenable. They are far too easy to "beat" on average, especially considering the (discretionary) maximum stake of $10 per spin/hand while a bonus is active.

Before going further, we'll quote the terms and then dig in and see if we can find the "whammy".

16. TornadoBet might impose a $10 maximum stake until bonus wagering requirements fulfilled, in cases in which there is a suspicion of deposit and/or bonus funds are not used for the sole purpose of gaming.

17. The Bonus cannot be wagered in the Sports, Virtual Sports and Games sections.

18. General Bonus Terms and Conditions apply.

T&C Deep-Dive

16. A *suspicion* funds aren't used for the sole purpose of gaming?

Are we buying dogs or shopping for a new car here? This term is suspect, giving the operator far too much leeway in determining 'the *spirit* of the bonus'.

17. Cannot be used in the Games section? There is no "Games section". Again, far too murky, with way too much wiggle room, not looking good.

Okay, let's look for the whammy. I'll just guess that it will say something like - "if you play any game with a higher wagering requirement/lower differential all play will be weighted to the highest wagering requirement. I hope I'm wrong.

We'll look for any easy-to-find caveats...

6.1. Minimum stake for wagering is the equivalent to 0.5 USD in the betting account currency for all events. Is a slot game an event? What if that game has a minimum of 0.45 spin?

Outside of the bonus terms and conditions, the above - 6.1 - is the only potentially 'bad' term found in the General Terms and Conditions when searching for the following words:

casino, wagering, turnover, rollover, differential, and weighting, play through, playthrough, requirement, (PTR).

Glad to say my suspicion on that was 100% mistaken.

We do find this term, which has resided on rogue operator's sites in the past. In those cases, a decade or more ago, the manager would drop a bonus into a player's account without permission or notice, then void winnings.

7.5. Customers should immediately notify the Betting Company, if they notice any amounts incorrectly credited to their accounts. Otherwise, all subsequent winnings directly or indirectly derived from that error will be considered invalid and should be returned to the Betting Company.

Aside from the specific Welcome Package terms, we examined the General T&C without finding. When we clicked through to "Bonus T&C" it was clearly stated and was obviously only related to sportsbook bonuses.

Banking and Customer Service

Look for plenty of ways to get your money into the cashier and to take your winnings home. We count a total of 16 deposit payment methods counting cryptocurrencies; 6 ways to withdraw, and 5 methods that work in both directions.

Most players will be limited to $2,000 per day in withdrawals which should take 1-3 business days once document verification is complete. The company reserves the right to reverify any account element at its discretion.

In certain circumstances, players may be required to provide a picture with ID, proof of address, utility bills, bank details, bank statements and bank references, etc, as well as a Skype conference.

The site is multi-lingual and accepts multiple currencies. An email link is available around the clock but Live chat is only 8 hours a day four days per week and 12 hours per day Wednesday through Friday.

Pitfalls

  • Operator has an uneven history of following up on some complaint/advocate forums to clear name
  • Has used 'spirit of the bonus' (read whatever they think, not what is black and white) to confiscate winnings
  • Bonus rules (game weighting/wagering requirements) seem overly generous (too good to be true?)

The Final Word

TornadoBet Casino offers a complete gambling package that ranges from top-tier slots and table games to live dealer suites, virtual, live, and pre-bet sports wagering.

This reviewer never goes by any other portal's opinion of an operator unless the good or bad qualities are either legendary or already known to me. However, the facts or undisputed assertions that go into those opinions are fair game once investigated as fully as possible within the time constraints of an overarching, critical, and unbiased review.

Players in the target markets of Finland, Germany, Hungary, Norway, Portugal, and Russia may find mention of the gaming site in their native language forums to form their own opinions beyond what we've been able to highlight here, for better or for worse.

Most of the unresolved casino complaints seem to be related to document verification and wins approaching or surpassing €10,000. Some others are related to responsible gambling issues including self-exclusion.

We don't find any issues in the last 3 to 3 1/2 years. And some go back a decade. Management may have changed in the interim.

We also don't know if they have seen the light and expect to grow their business with exemplary customer service, trust, and integrity, or if a culture exists within the operation that makes a rosy future unlikely - which is often, but by no means always the case.

For example, I play several times a week at the fastest-paying RTG slots site in the world and have been more than pleased with everything about the relationship for over 2 years now. Over a decade ago it was one of the absolute worst I had ever played at other than venues from a certain group.
