Vegadream Casino is a Gammix Limited (Malta) online gaming site with over 3,000 slots and other games to play for real money. The operators are known to enjoy wordplay in some of their brands but this one simply means “star dream”, and I suppose that’s good enough.

Some of their other sites are a bit more creative in that respect. We find the tongue-in-cheek Rigged Casino for example. Why on earth anyone would be looking for a rigged gambling site is beyond me, but I guess they know what they are doing. Try Rant Casino - and then try to find any rants about it. We find raves, but no rants - unless you count TrustPilot where even Mother Teresa would be pilloried and raked over the coals if she had a gambling site.

Touch lets us know it’s good for mobile, I suppose, and Sugar tells us it’s oh-so-sweet. Nordslot must be good for the Nordics, and Locowin must be crazy fun.

Vegadream, obviously, is not about a “star dream”, whatever that might be - it’s about Vegas dreaming and the first thing you are likely to see when you visit is an image of Sin City at night in all its glory. If not, just wait a few seconds and the marquee slideshow will bring it back around. In the meantime, you will probably see some bonuses and promotions or maybe a new game announcement.

We don’t find an “About Us” section here, and that is a little disconcerting for a reviewer like me who likes to build as much background as possible into a working bias before going through the black-and-white nuts and bolts of an operation. Nobody really knows much about Gammix, their website has been “under maintenance” for years with a brief period hosting links to a few of their operations (Sugar, 7Gods, LocoWin, and CashiMashi).

What we can find out by exploring half a dozen rabbit holes is that just below the surface of the mud, there’s more mud here. That’s not necessarily a bad thing - all but the most transparent publicly listed, UKGC-licensed operators operate with various levels of “discretion” and that is especially true for operators who might offer products and services in jurisdictions that don’t have their own regulatory stuff together, so to speak. 

Sometimes, you have to look fairly deep to determine just what sort of audience a gaming site is seeking. We can say with a fair amount of certainty based on several factors, that this is a Nordic-facing casino that also accepts players from Canada. That means you are likely to get a slightly different iteration of the site when you visit from Sweden as opposed to Denmark - and Dutch players might see different bonus offers new customers in Finland might see.

We’ve been able to determine, again through tradecraft and proprietary methods, that some or all of the operations on the Gammix license are individually managed so what you see and what you get at one is not necessarily what you will see nor what you will get at the next.

To illustrate that point let’s look at one of the oldest or perhaps the oldest sibling - Sugar. This site has been around for a decade so any behaviors should be about baked in by now, but are they?

Back in the day, this may have been called a Netagame platformed brand, but that platform has all but disappeared from the internet. You are welcome to wiggle down the Netagame, Danguad Limited,  iGaming Platform (iGP), Adrenaline, Vegas Berry, Gammix, Vegadream burrows if you want to. Pack lunch. We’ll keep a light on for you!

We find a complaint from December 2019 accusing a player of collusion or using a bot or other program (probably simply card counting) and Sugar did not provide the arbiter with any proof of term violation. Another player was not paid in December 2020 due to “fraud checking” on their account. Neither the operator nor the player followed up so there’s no way to know what eventually happened. The only other unresolved issue was from 2017. In that case, the player was simply accused of “bonus abuse” and not paid. So we find three or at least 2 bad marks over a period of ten years. 

Operators may not seem to understand that they have one thing in the final analysis, and that is their reputation. It is incumbent upon them to go back over all of time and defend themselves if they were in the right. Today, I have unearthed questionable policy, tomorrow someone else will. There will always be fair reports in this industry even if they are only found on a few sites.

With that, I’ll have to balance my initial bias with the fact that all indications are Vegadream is not operated by the same person(s) as Sugar and ten years is a long time to fail the resolution of three complaints. We also see Sugar and other Gammix sites reviewed without negative prejudice at places like Casinomeister. 

A representative of Vegadream has been available on the LCB.org Direct Support forum since soon after the site launched. None of the members there have found reason to ask a question nor lodge a complaint, so that bodes well. Finally, we do find three resolved complaints on another forum  - all involved players from Germany, and all were settled with the players being paid.

This brings us back to a neutral bias but will inform the way we approach a detailed look at the terms and conditions.

Software and Games

It wouldn’t do a lot of good to offer over 3,000 slots if players couldn’t find the games they wanted when they wanted to find them. VegaDream has taken a bit of a risk that was probably based either on direct player feedback or by compiling traffic data when players navigate around the site. It's not a big risk, but it’s a bit of a stretch to assume all players will want to be funneled like sheep into certain predetermined game categories. After choosing any of the categories you can also use the “providers” dropdown and select a studio. Reducing your choices to “Megaways NoLimit City” or “Megaways Microgaming” will display anywhere from zero to five choices and that is a lot better than 3,323 games to choose from if you are a player who knows what you want and knows how to get it.

The user interface is highly functional but the database has not been made so granular and accessible that you can choose a type of game such as Live dealers, and then only be presented with providers of live games. That makes it a little clunky - and although you can find your favorite type of game if you are after big wins or ‘nothing’ (high volatility), you can’t take those games and then sort them by the theoretical return to player percentages (RTP).

If you don’t know that the live dealer providers are Evolution and BetGames, it will be hard to fine-tune your search for BetGames-only titles. One option would be to simply not choose any game thumbnails with the Evolution logo - but if you don’t know, you wouldn’t know.

Megaways

As a slot player, I personally love these games. The ability of the Big Time Gaming mechanic to take almost any slot and make it exciting is nothing short of revolutionary. High volatility - the wild ride

The Final Word

If you have read this entire entry without skipping anything, we have taken quite a journey together. It took a bit of work to arrive at a neutral bias and a sharp eye to complete the review. We mentioned that a sister site, which is most likely managed completely separately, has used accusations of “bonus abuse” at least twice in the last ten years to deny winnings.

We examined the “rule of law” here and found that the operator reserves that right, even for something as ludicrous as martingale betting and assumably card counting.

That’s all fine and well, I guess, as long as the player knows the site makes up its own rules that have nothing to do with odds and the century’s-old gambling contract of a bet laid is a bet paid - but - those made-up rules are their rules and the onus is on the player to accept them or reject them.
