We can confirm through Malta Gaming Authority documents that the site uses the SBTech platform for sports betting. Navigation

This element might not normally be a consideration for the average player. However, since the site also offers live events, predictive sports betting, and a live dealer suite it is worth a brief mention.

One nice feature here that we haven’t run across before is filtering and sorting for each game sub-category, all on one page. With this, you could scroll past or to any section such as popular, jackpots, tables and cards, video slots, video poker, keno, and bingo, etc., and then filter by provider and sort by popularity, release date, or alphabetically.

It’s not a profound development choice, but there are only so many possible configurations to organize a website, and this one is innovative but most importantly functional. Since form follows function and simplicity is the ultimate sophistication, the designers here seem to have settled on a near-perfect user interface.

Alternative navigation

Above the pictorial representations of the game types, there is also a text link menu. Some, but not all of the second-tier game-type options exist in both the top menu and the visual scrolling menu. Both lists start with “Top Picks”.

Just above the game icons the text-link list of choices also adds Megaways slots and a “New Provider” section. When we visited, the featured studio was Realistic Games LTD. The London-based developer has been making slots and other games since 2002 and holds licenses from the MGA and the Gaming Commission in Great Britain (UKGC).

We found about three dozen of their titles here including Time is Money, Symmetry, Super Graphics (x2), and Sunset Reels. The games are all available for demo play on the site using the exact same parameters as are launched in real money play.

These games can be found by using the text search box (magnifying glass icon) in the top left corner - in which case 22 games are displayed. You can also simply click the word in the menu to display all of the game titles (30 as of review time).

During the bonus play, winning spins increase the multiplier by 1x but null spins do not start it over or lower the multiplier so each subsequent win is simply worth more than the last. Matching symbols including wilds along the horizontal extra reel on top of the game can create phenomenal wins.

In the next game, we started out with a 10x multiplier and repeated that bet 3 times for a cumulative loss of one enhanced stake. So we tried 10 spins starting with a 5x multiplier - win or lose. The end result after five feature buys was just about evens - which is not bad for a high-risk/high reward - go big or go home type of game. In fact, a fairly rare result.

Many sportsbooks and hybrids apply a maximum amount that can be won on sports bets. That’s understandable, you don’t want to be betting at a place where the book can be broken. However, Winmasters specifically applies this same rule to slots, tables, and card game winnings.

The Final Word

Winmasters Casino offers players a great variety of betting opportunities from sports and live matches to slots and live dealer gambling games.

From our desk in Canada, we found games from most of the top online providers as well as some that are not so easy to find. Synot, Genesis, Tom Horn, and Gamevy are among them. EGT games, many of them almost perfectly emulating NOVOMATIC titles, are also included via Euro Games subsidiary Amusnet’s Maltese license.

Banking is straightforward and the terms are spelled out well. However, some players with impulse control problems might be tempted to reverse a withdrawal during the 72-hour pending period. No onboard responsible gambling tools are available to prevent this.

I didn’t go back through the history of changes to the terms and conditions but some sections seem to be sports terms that have been modified for other types of gambling. One example would be the “maximum win limits” term that applies to slots et al. It’s unusual. But in the final analysis, it is fine to have a term like this as long as gamblers are aware of it from the outset. It is not VIP-player-friendly so high rollers beware. 

The average player should not be affected by “win limits” of  €15.000 per day, €20.000 per week, or €25,000 per month.
