About the Company

SYNOT Games is a subsidiary of the SYNOT Group, a land-based multi-vertical company involved in the lottery business with offices and facilities in Mařatice, Czech Republic and the Slovakian capital of Bratislava. The company was established in 1991 and participates in many industries including real estate and BMW car sales with business activities in 21 countries and employs over 3,000 people worldwide.

The company owns and or operates casinos in several diverse countries including Georgia and Vietnam, and is a major gaming machine supplier for eastern Europe. The company designs and builds poker and casino game rooms, and supplies fixed odds betting terminals and server-based slot machines, video lottery terminals, and multi-player technical devices (MTD) to the land-based industry and lottery providers. Some of the MTD are created by JPM International of the UK and operated by SYNOT.

The group of companies is managed by WCV World Capital Ventures Cyprus LTD of Nicosia. Subsidiaries and individual companies in the group operate in the Balkans, Czech Republic, Latvia, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, and several other countries in Europe and Africa.

The online game division was created in early 2016 and has already developed and deployed more than 25 online games including five table gaming titles developed by sister company, Easit. All games are created in HTML5 for delivery to any device and support multiple currencies and languages including Czechoslovakian, English, Spanish, Swedish, and Russian.

Software and Games

The company has focused not only on creating exciting and unique games but making them flexible and easy to integrate into any software without the need for customers to do anything on their side. Technical support assures that the games perform well not only on the contracted platform but on the front end as well so players have the best experience possible. All games can be tailored to a customer's needs including qHD, HD, FHD resolutions, multiple language and currency support, and the ability to deploy all content on VLTs as well as mobile phones, tablets, and desktops.

Game graphics are rich and colorful with well-rendered light and shadow for enhanced 2D and some 3D effect. The slot games are set against various backgrounds with interesting yet unobtrusive animations giving increased depth to the gaming environment.

Simple 5 payline slots like 007 Fruits offer scatter prizes and a post-win gamble game. The Wild Job slot has 9 compulsory pay lines with bonus symbols, free spins and a wild symbol. During free games, the bonus symbol becomes an expanding wild on reels 1, 3, and 5. None of the games we reviewed held overly complicated bonus rules and the game cores loaded quickly while supporting files (animation and sounds) took more than a minute over a steady 4.6Mbps internet connection. Once loaded, the games performed perfectly with no lag or hiccups.

One of the most satisfying games we tested was Moonlight Fortune. The graphics and animations were excellent and the game sounds were intriguing and appropriate to the theme. The initial wait time for the game to load was well worth it as the bonus game fired off immediately upon trigger. The extra stacked wild symbols and bonus re-triggers contributed to a huge payout, and the win celebration was not annoying.

Another game, Alchemists Gold, loaded completely in under a minute and when we returned to the game it was deployed immediately. However, the only enhanced game mechanic was a mystery symbol that changed to a randomly chosen symbol. All games displayed well on mobile with crisp graphics and smooth play. The roulette games on offer via the Synot Games website were actually designed and branded by another SYNOT company, Easit s.r.o. and were unremarkable. However, gameplay was smooth and the user interface was uncluttered and totally functional with a racetrack and special bets.

Final Analysis

While we find the words "Synot is licensed and regulated in a number of jurisdictions" associated with every Synot Games webpage, the link to where the licenses can be found was not active. However, we were able to make out a logo/badge for the Romanian National Gambling Office, ONJN in the footer. We were able to locate a license there.

SYNOT Games is part of a large multinational corporation with deep influence in the Eastern European gaming market. While we did not find any of the 20+ online games on offer among SYNOT's server-based land games, so they were most likely developed specifically for the online market. It is an impressive number for such a young company.
