Barbados Casino is an online gambling site launched in July 2017 by AG Communications Limited under the trade name Aspire Global for their UK licenses and Aspire Global International Limited for all players elsewhere under their MGA licenses from the Malta Gambling Authority.

Aspire Global reportedly spun off their lottery-focused NeoGames brand a few years ago, but we still see some of their fixed odds and fixed-odds "slots" games across the platform. More on that below under Software and Games.

Sister-sites include the newly relaunched Karamba, Luckland, Kaiser Slots, and NextCasino among many others. Aspire also manages about 20 white label properties on the platform including Mr. Mega, Primeslots, and VikingSlots.

ASG signed an extension of their contract to use the NYX OGS in June 2017.

Several years ago there were a few complaints about Karamba and some of the white label properties but with the UK license or perhaps simply due to better management, unresolved complaints seem to be non-existent aside from some advertising issues. Many affiliate websites and gambling portals are operated by people who don't keep up with the times, so you may see some outdated reports prior to 2016. It is also good to note that although the domain name has been around since 2002, this particular iteration was registered on April 15, 2017, and is not connected to the previous websites.

One resolved complaint we have seen was in regard to a terms and conditions change which seemed to void a player's winnings. When dates of deposit and change were shown, the operator paid immediately. Welcome bonuses are also something to look out for and we'll cover those later under Bonuses and Promotions and Pitfalls.

As of early 2018, the operators seem to be taking their business very seriously. The providers and game count may vary based on your location. When accessing from France and some other areas we were able to choose English, German, Norwegian, Swedish and Finnish languages. Some sites on the ASG platform force the language based on your IP address, we were happy to see this one did not.

The site launches the newest games as they are released and classic titles share their space. The featured games category always displays popular games like Starburst from NetEnt, Thunderstruck II by Microgaming, along with favorite Play'n GO titles like the phenomenal Sea Hunter 3-reel slot. We were little disappointed to not see almost all of the Neogames content in the scratch card section. They have games like Monte Carlo, that looks like a slot, mixed in with true slots like Fruity Friends, not to mention alongside games from other developers.

While games such as Legend of Terra may indeed have a theoretical average return to player (RTP) of 94.52% and may be absolutely fair games - they are in no way slots. Readers may consider that a purists argument, but Legend of Terra is an animated fixed-odds game that looks like a slot. And while the results may be the same, you wouldn't know what sort of game you are actually playing without looking at the Help File. Pitfalls

Back in the day when there were only a few providers, there was a small but vigilant cadre of players who would take the time to map the reel strips of any slot and compare the pay table to determine the RTP and whether the game was fair or not. That is no longer possible, but, I am an old-school purist and do not believe that fixed odds games should be promoted as slots - they are simply different animals. That said, who cares, really? If the RTP is 95% why should the maths and mechanics get in the way of delivering the same results over time? Pariplay cared and changed their model several years ago and now they are huge.

While it's nice that they have helped guide players to the terms restricting welcome bonuses at any two or more ASG properties, it would be much better to simply alert players using the same email address to register that they are not eligible.

Table games and video poker offerings are scarce, live dealer suite offers more games in some regions than others. Withdrawal limits may be too low for some players. Welcome, and Loyalty are some of the only incentives. Restricted jurisdictions are not easily apparent. "1 in 3 overall chance of winning a Prize" on fixed odds games that look like slots.

The Final Word

As long as you know that some games use different engines but deliver the same end result over time, there's no reason not to play certain games here. We do wish they would explain their "Fair Play" policy a little better. They state that when the big prizes are gone in a specific game, they'll alert players.

What we find here is a superb collection of games from a variety of suppliers. The licensing is solid and UK players have enhanced access to dispute resolution. It's safe and secure to play here. Depending on the percentage match, the welcome package is quite 'beatable', just be sure to check your history with the group. Navigation is a snap, except for the lack of ability to sort by the provider. All in all, Barbados Casino provides a unique mix of live tables, world-famous slots, and a great variety of fixed odds and scratch games.
