Thunderpick Casino Review Jump to comments

Thunderpick is an online gambling site with thousands of slots and table games as well as sports betting and a great selection of eSports. In fact, the site started out as an eSports and skin betting site before expanding to offer players even more ways to join the community.

The site is operated by Paloma Media B.V. under license from Curaçao eGaming #1668/JAZ granted to Cyberluck Curacao by the government there in 1996. Unlike many offshore real money game operators licensed offshore, Thunderpick provides a link from its website to the actual License Certificate.

We’ll focus primarily on the casino part of the site in this review and leave things like CS:GO, DOTA, and even sports betting to those more qualified. The great news is that all parts of the site operate under the same license and are managed by the same people. What we find to be true about customer service, banking, dispute resolution, etc., should be the same no matter what type of gaming you want to do.

We find about 50 gaming studios and developers providing slots, jackpots, blackjack, video poker, roulette, baccarat, and specialty games based on internationally audited and certified random number generators.

Live dealer streams are provided for everything from game shows to blackjack, baccarat, and roulette by top-tier providers like Pragmatic Play Live, Evolution, and Ezugi among others.

Note: If the game icons are in black and white, they aren’t available to players in your region - or - you’ll have to turn off any VPN or other masking devices. The geolocation tech in the HTML5 framework serves multiple purposes to provide players with the best experience possible. For Instance, players in Canada may not be able to play Evolution. Germans, those in Oceania especially New Zealand, and players in South Africa should find at least 2,000 available games.

Banking is currently crypto-only with all accepted coins working for deposits as well as withdrawals. Eight of the most used or lowest fee cryptocurrencies are in use here including BTC, LTC, Dogecoin, and Tron.

The same bonuses and promotions may not be available to players in all countries. Please see the information above or use the dropdown menu found elsewhere on this page to drill down and find any particular details.

The site is available in the following languages as of review time: German, English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, and Chinese.

Look for plenty of ways to stay in the game from rewarding quizzes to daily giveaways. The first deposit bonus can change at any time but you will see today’s offer along with basic terms near the top of this page.

First-time visitors should always find at least a 5% bonus with 2x rollover and no restrictions but if you discover this review on a lucky day (during a special promotion) you will probably see a 100% match up to €200 with a rollover requirement of 30x. The bonuses are good for playing in the casino or on eSports.

Pouring over the internet for player comments, kudos, and complaints we find the greatest number of entries on TrustPilot. I try not to give things said there much weight but, on the rare occasion, a posting there can open pathways therefore unseen.

In this case, we find what appears to be a single disgruntled player posting multiple times with each posting within a few days of another. Then, there is a stretch of indiscernible complaints about losing deposits for ‘money laundering’ etc., which usually means the player wasn’t able to provide identification or other KYC-required documents. Following complaints back to 2019 and 2020, we see the operator stopped responding to them in 2020.

The last reply addressed a bettor in Vietnam who simply said they ‘hated it’. A representative answered saying they were sorry and asked if there were any suggestions for improvement - then crickets. Posts like that are usually from sore losers.

With 99 reviews as of the time of this review, the site has been rated as excellent by 68% of those surveyed, great by 7% average by none, poor by 2%, and bad by 23% of contributors.

Onto the more valuable indicators for slots and live games - casino player reviews and player advocate sites. These too, have to be taken with a grain of salt if you don’t know quite what to look for, but we’ve boiled it down and sifted it out to find only the most relevant feedback data based on decades of experience.

We don’t find any complaints or grumbles in the player comments section at LCB.org and they don’t have a dedicated representative on board to man a complaint line. The one player who left a note was from Taiwan, they rated it as awesome with 4.6 stars out of five, and said they hoped there would be more bonuses offered.

Another trusted site with transparent metrics for rating and ranking gave it a very good reputation. Player reviews there mentioned a single negative of live chat not always being available. The next site which takes a lot of discretion to interpret didn’t have any player reviews but there were also no complaints. Negatives that were mentioned were the lack of fiat currency options and slow live chat responses.

Software and Games

Thunderpick allows players to register an account in a variety of ways including email, Steam, VK, Switch, and Google. For all of its diverse betting elements, the site is well-organized and easy enough to get around on. Simply choose the type of betting you want to do and the rest of the options will remain at the top of the page but quickly recede from awareness. Once in the casino new options appear and become the focus.

There’s a text search bar for games, providers, and categories. We’ll dig into that feature more in a minute. Navigation is very intuitive from here.

Large icons run across the upper portion of the lobby page with text descriptions of each game category.

  • Spin (roulette-like numbers game)
  • Crash (place a bet and pull it right before the random crash to win the most)
  • Live
  • Slots
  • Blackjack
  • Poker
  • Video poker
  • Cards
  • Roulette
  • Lottery
  • Craps
  • Baccarat
  • Bingo
  • Game shows
  • Casual

Also, along the left edge of the page, you’ll find smaller icons without the text description. They are mostly intuitive and those that may not be at first are soon learned thanks to the work of their counterparts.

Spin gives players an easy betting scenario. Simply choose an amount and stake it on one of the four colors in the array around the wheel above. Each color corresponds to a payback ratio starting at 2x and running up through 3x, 5x, and finally 30x your bet. There’s an auto bet feature with several parameters and the game is Provably Fair on the blockchain with the Hash shown for each spin. If you’re not familiar with the tool, it’s easy to find a primer.

Crash is a low-risk game that is easy to understand - but, you can push your luck into the stratosphere for huge payouts. This game is also provably fair and the Hash for each round is displayed right on the game page. Some players like to set up a strategy and set it to autoplay. There are plenty of strategies spelled out on the Crash page. We’ll illustrate the most basic for the player who likes to play a while rather than go for broke and cash out or give it up right away.

Bet big and cash out at a low number - alternatively - bet small and let it ride cashing out at a higher number.

Let’s skip to…

Lottery games, mostly to take a look at the navigation filtering and sorting options available.

First, I’ll mention that this is a ‘smart’ site. The game database is well constructed so it’s easy for players to find what they want. If you use the “providers” dropdown menu you’ll notice that only the providers with “lottery” games are available to select. From there you can sort the games using important criteria like RTP and Volatility as well as alphabetically A-Z or Z-A and by popularity.

Not being a regular player of lottery-type games or scratch cards, I would use those tools when I do play - either to extend playtime with high return to player percentage games and low volatility or some other combination that met my needs.

With those tools in mind, let’s take a look at…

Slots

In addition to the sorting and filtering just described, each game icon also has a piece of information call out. Simply tap or hover over the italicized “i” to see things like the number of paylines, the volatility level, and the theoretical return to player percentage (RTP) of any game.

When you open the slots lobby the default sorting is by popularity. When we visited, the top 6 games in descending order were:

  • Rise of Olympus (Play’n GO)
  • Sweet Bonanza (Pragmatic Play)
  • Wolf Gold (Pragmatic Play)
  • Bonanza Billion (bGaming)
  • The Dog House Megaways (Pragmatic Play)
  • Vikings go to Valhalla (Yggdrasil)

The fourth spot might be slightly massaged into place but I’ve never played the game so I don't know for sure. All of the rest seems reasonable. A quick Google search for the top title, “Rise of Olympus slot” produced 1.6m results. Searching “rise of olympus rtp” produced 307,000 hits.

It was a little surprising to only find one Megaways slot at the top of the page, but that title features prominently on the most popular pages of myriad gambling websites.

On a lark I decided to try the text search box, entering “Megaways” and received 48 returns. From there, however, all of the other filtering tools disappeared. I guess it’s too much to ask to be able to use filters to find the highest (percentage) paying most volatile Megaways games so I could take that knowledge into a journey through the pay tables for other things I like including the highest paying combinations.

While using the provider dropdown menu you‘ll notice that each game studio has a game count after the brand name. I have to admit I had no idea Wazdan has over 140 titles and Spinomenal over 160.

The game selection or curation is interesting here with a single slot from Blueprint, two from Iron Dog, and one by Rabcat.

Looking at half a dozen games from Avatar UX I noticed that all but their first title Bounty Pop were made with Yggdrasil as part of the YG Masters Program. If you’ve never played these games, be sure to check out Wild Pops, Cherry Pop, PopRocks, and Lilith Inferno too. They are unique and well worth a visit in demo mode or for real money play.

While you can search several ways, once you have opened a category such as slots,  there’s not much more you can do other than filter by the provider and sort by the criteria mentioned earlier. Unless a game has the word “Egypt” in its title you can’t really search for Egyptian slots by theme. It’s also not possible to seek out music slots or rock slots unless you know at least part of the title such as Alice Cooper, Def Leppard, KISS, etc.

Individual players may or may not like the fact that the more concise category such as baccarat, blackjack, etc., is presented rather than simply Table Games, with further options from there. I found it very easy to get accustomed to.

The Poker icon opens to a variety of mostly RNG (random number generated) animated games followed by a few live titles. The category is necessarily a little broad or organized a bit differently from the way I think as we find one Teen Patti in the poker section and Evoplay’s Texas Hold’em in the Cards section along with Ezugi’s Teen Patti. Sic Bo will be found under Cards as well as in the Craps section so as easy as it is to get around or find a game title via the text search, the elimination of the broad category for Tables does have its drawbacks in this instance.

Blackjack

This category currently holds over 220 games which are a mix of RNG titles and live dealer streams. The vast majority of games on the opening page are live titles and most of them are provided by Evolution and Ezugi (Evolution owns Ezugi and shares their UKGC license with them).

Betsoft Gaming (aka BSG here) offers a good variety of animated blackjack games with decent rules and quality graphics and animations. Look for Super 7, Single Deck, Pirate 21, European, American, and American Burn Blackjack.

Baccarat also has its own section. Most of the tables are streamed by Pragmatic Live with one Evolution table for Live Peek Baccarat. The only RNG game available from Platipus. You will need to play the live games to bet in the upper registers.

Live games

This section offers well over 100 tables depending on your location. Pragmatic Live fills in about 70 titles with at least that many by Evolution. Ezugi is well-represented too.

GoldenRace games are found here too, but these are virtual sports “on demand”. Most of the options are league football along with speedway and horse racing, a form of roulette, and a deluxe Keno game.

Bonuses and Promotions

New players are welcome to a 1st deposit bonus and the site has quite a few ongoing incentives such as quizlets, daily giveaways, weekly races, monthly gift cards, reload bonuses, a refer-a-friend program, and a VIP club with fractional tiers.

The 1st deposit bonus of 5% is always available. See above and visit to find the 100% offer. Sometimes you’ll find a 100% match offer. Bonuses are usually available for play on casino games, eSports, and regular sports betting. The maximum 5% on us is €500 and the most you can get at 100% is €500. Wagering requirements are 2x and 30x respectively.

We don’t find a standard Terms and Conditions section so it’s necessary to go through the Legal page, individual policy pages, the FAQ, and follow any pertinent links in the footer of the pages.  Visiting any of the following pages opens a menu on the left to the balance of them - FAQ (which includes a fees page), About, Legal, Privacy, and Security, Provably Fair, and Responsible Gambling.

Banking and Customer Service

Banking couldn’t be simpler for players familiar with  Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The site traffics exclusively in cryptos so all deposits and withdrawals are expected to be processed quickly and efficiently.

Fees and limits may vary by player location and the banking pages might be dynamically generated based on your location but we are currently seeing no fees associated with deposits or withdrawals.

Those familiar with cryptocurrencies will want to examine the FAQ/Fees page (even though all fees are 0 as we visit). Some deposits could be credited quicker depending on how quickly confirmations are occurring.

Bitcoin deposits require a single confirmation while ETH, Tron, and Tether confirmations are in the double digits.

Depending on your level of play, or even your current luck, you might want to look at the current maximum weekly and monthly cashout threshold for your favorite coin. BTC, LTC, and ETH are eligible for €50,000 per week withdrawals and if you time it just right and the calendar stars are aligned in your favor you might be able to hit the monthly maximum of €250,000 in withdrawals for those coins. Weeks cycle Monday to Sunday so you could conceivably catch 5 Sundays and 5 Mondays (which happens four and sometimes five times per year).

Some coins like BCH, TRON, Tether and Dogecoin are limited to €5000 per week in withdrawals.

Payouts should be processed within 5-30 minutes but some withdrawals can take up to 24 hours on the operator’s end for security reasons. Of course, once paid, the transaction will have to be confirmed as many times as your exchange requires it to be before you can cash it out or transfer it again. Coinbase usually releases BTC after 3 confirmations.

Pitfalls

  • God Clause that allows the casino to terminate any account
  • No telephone support
  • Cryptocurrencies only banking

The Final Word

Thunderpick Casino offers a good variety of game types and ways to bet. Bitcoin and other digital currency players will feel right at home the moment they visit.

Banking is fast enough with no withdrawals taking more than 24 hours on average and if you use the more well-traveled coins like BTC you won't face the same lower cashout limits as players who use TRON, DOGE, or BCH do.

The welcome offer is generous and the wagering requirements are fair. Ongoing bonuses may not come with the cadence some players would like, but the welcome bonus is sure worth a try.

It is not a good place. You will lose. Waste of money and I wish I could say time, but you will lose your money too fast to waste your time. I am not being ungenerous. I have deposited and wagered with them over 20 times. All the same, total loss and quick. Skip this one, they obviously cater to the crypto anonymous high spending crowd and fleece the others to do it. There are several anonymous casinos to play at. LCB has a nice list, there are other ones out there as well.

enjoy playing at Everygame (previously Intertops). Usually, I play the Classics casino games. They are much older casino slots, but I like playing here because I don’t have to bet big and my money typically seems to last longer than playing at other casinos. I’ve cashed out when they were Intertops, but have yet to withdraw with the new company. Seems to be a solid, reliable online casino
