The Final Word

Rocketpot is a very unique crypto-casino with an amazing selection of games. 

There are some truly strange references in the terms and other site narratives that may or may not affect the player/casino gambling contract.

Here’s one that immediately follows instructions on depositing Bitcoins: “This means that if the bankroll loses bitcoins to lucky players, the maximum allowed profits made on new game rounds will shrink. If players lose to the bankroll, new rounds will allow higher profits to players. This maximum allowed profit prevents players from winning the entire bankroll.”

That means two different things and nothing at all and could be an artifact of the developer’s notes to each other or a funding partner. The term “bankroll” seems to relate to the operator's liquid assets as in what is currently held in their wallet address. The statement that there is anything like “maximum allowed profit” in a fair casino game is ludicrous - and these are fair games provided by the developers - regardless of any third-party or aggregation platform involved - they cannot change the returns. We scoured to find a max payout clause but were unable to and that is the only mechanism that could account for that, and only if it were a rolling, constantly changing number.

There is at least one other strange term that perhaps simply needs better translation. In English it is stated as: When withdrawing from the Rocketpot Bitcoin Casino, Rocketpot.io has the right to refuse withdraws when deposit to bet ratio suggest misuse, defined as an odds of less than 1.1.

Since minimum turnover of 3x deposit without bonus is handled elsewhere in the terms this one seems to be some sort of sports bet caveat but is not identified as such - so it becomes a murky casino term, which can’t be ignored even if it can’t be understood.

The last oddly configured section is in regard to bonuses, comps, and game weighting. Bonus wagering only earns ⅓ the loyalty points cash wagers earn, video poker earns 1/10th of that and table games including live dealers contribute 1/10.

This may seem fairly normal except that standard terms state that rollover is 100x bonus -  making tables and video poker wagering 1000x and basically worthless for amassing comp points or advancing levels.

I won’t even get into the comp point differentials they use except to say it is a convoluted rolling volatility formula that the average player would have no ability to fully understand - ergo, they allow you to audit the hash.

That said, this doesn’t seem like a place that was “made by players for players”, but more of a specialty niche for bitcoin enthusiasts who also like to gamble. Do such people understand the basic gambling contract of a “bet laid is a bet paid”? Or are they more focused on a system and the rules you agree to? My tentative conclusion would be the latter with what we know so far.

However, because they are licensed and provide a representative to settle any disputes in public, clarification of any terms I don’t understand completely, and a conclusion to one valid complaint would be all I would need to give them a try.
