RedCherry Casino Review Jump to comments 39
RedCherry Casino is an SpinLogic Gaming powered online gambling site launched in 2021. One unique feature of the site is that registering an account there opens two other casinos for players - Triple Seven and Lady Luck.
What this means in essence is that you only have to register one account to play at all three sites. Since your accounts are unified, you only have to verify the account to play at all three casinos as well.
Another benefit of using a single account at three different online properties is that your loyalty rewards, comp points, and VIP status are combined across all three brands. Play at one, or play at all and your rewards grow just the same.
The company behind the trio is TheOnline.Casino (TOC). They are not releasing much information about the upcoming sister sites yet, but you can sign up at RedCherry now and you will already be registered with the new sites when they are launched.
While we don't know if they will all carry the same games, we do know that if you sign-up and earn comp points at the inaugural site you would be able to cash them in at TripleSevens or LadyLuck on opening day.
This early in the game, we really don't know anything about the operators. Like all new sites, they claim decades of experience in the industry.
Unfortunately, the landing portal or introductory webpage doesn't give us any information about the ownership or management and they don't display a clickable link to a gaming license.
That doesn't mean it is a clipjoint by any means, we've played at some online sites that don't list their license jurisdiction for decades with no problems.
The brands are new, so we don't know the operators nor even have any viable clues as to who they are, good or bad. Given that, we are reduced to examining the terms and conditions for clarity and fairness and identifying any potential pitfalls.
As time goes on and they've had a chance to respond to any inevitable misunderstandings or valid disputes, we should be able to update the review based on earned reputation. For now, you may be able to mouse-hover over this tab on your browser to extract the data on customer satisfaction from all of our sister sites.
As well, if you play there, please take a moment to rate your experience from 1-5 stars or even leave your own review or thoughts about the experience on this page. That can help other readers in the meantime as we gather user experiences across the network.
We'll start off by looking at the software and games. As we delve into the bonuses and promotions as well as banking and customer service we should be able to get a pretty good sketch of the operation put together for you.
Let's wrap it up below with a bullet list of any pitfalls we discover and then we'll render a final word based on what we learn.
Have a coffee or cold drink? Let's dig in!
Software and Games
When you visit the site you will have three choices right away. Click Mobile for iPhone or Android - Instant Play to open the games lobby directly in your browser, or click Download to install the SpinLogic [RTG] desktop client, but only for Windows.
Any one of the choices is all you need to get started. We would suggest registering an account on your mobile or in a browser. You will have access to more games in the download client but can always install it later.
The mobile and instant play software use a gdroot-g2.crt certificate to ensure all communications between your device and the servers are secure over a secure socket layer. The identifying 'thumb prints' are in SHA-2.
The protocol is a set of cryptographic hash functions which were designed by the United States National Security Agency (NSA). All personal and financial data is sent over encrypted networks so your information is always 100% safe.
We'll use the desktop web browser instant play site for this review. Mobile and Instant Play both use whatever native browser you have installed. The only real difference as of mid-2021 is that not all of the instant play games have been converted for mobile play yet, and not all of the mobile browser games are available for PC/Mac/Linux browser play.
The industry recently experienced a seismic shift in the way all instant gambling games are played (migration from Adobe Flash to HTML5 markup language).
While game providers and casinos had years to prepare for it, some of the smaller companies like RTG found themselves flat-footed when support for Flash was abandoned by Adobe and all of the major browser providers.
The good news is that the casinos continued to function 100% properly with the exception of which games are currently available on which channel. This and the dozens of legacy games that only reside on the download version are not much of an issue for most players.
Still, it's a bit of a pain. For instance, if I want to play the original Enchanted Garden, I'll only find it on the download client - if I want to play Count Spectacular, well... that's only currently available on mobile.
A couple of games (10x too big for HTML5 hyper-fast download and play) like Pirates Isle and Elf vs Orc are simply no longer available at all. But that's "progress" for you! We hope that eventually, all games will become available on all devices for a true omnichannel experience with seamless transitions across a device-agnostic environment.
The games
No matter which channel you choose, the game library will be populated with every type of casino game you would ever want to play. Slots, roulette, craps, baccarat, dozens of blackjack and poker variants, video poker, keno... you name it.
The variety of progressive games cuts through the channels as well. Caribbean poker games like Stud and Hold'em with $1 side bets that can bring down hundred of grand in cash; slots with network-wide progressive jackpots over a million dollars, and over 100 real series video slots with their own local progressive random jackpots are ready to play.
The random jackpots can be won at the end of any paid spin - One penny spins, $25 spins, and everything in between all has a chance. I've seen nearly $10,000 won on a $0.07 bet and have brought down a couple of Randoms myself over the years.
Random jackpots are not something you want to chase, the odds are just too slim - but that doesn't mean you can't choose to play smart for the best chance possible of winning one.
There are three variables you might be able to control by game selection in order to increase your chances of winning a big random jackpot.
- Volatility
- House edge
- Jackpot size
✅Low volatility
Since the jackpots are awarded randomly at the end of a paid spin, does it make sense to play a low volatility game with a lot of small returns rather than a hardcore high-risk game that might only pay back something of value after an average of 1,000 or more spins?
We think so.
A low volatility slot will give you more spins, on average, with a $50 bankroll than a highly volatile game (unless you hit a big win, but they are fewer and farther apart, aren't they?)
✅High Return to player percentage (RTP)
The next element to look at would be the theoretical return to player percentage (RTP) of any given game. Unfortunately, RTG allows operators to install specific titles like Achilles, Cleopatra's Gold, Aladdin's Wishes, etc., at a chosen RTP within the company's range.
Historically, that range has been anywhere from 91% to 97.5% across all slots. The best RTG casinos take use developer's default setting which is reportedly 95% and never they request a change.
Sites that continue to offer a lot of big bonuses with low wagering requirements after several months or years of operations obviously must choose to install their games at the lower end of the spectrum. How else could they stay in business?
Savvy players want the best value for their gambling dollar. They want high RTP games, but they realize that is not the most important element of volatile games like slots. If the RTP is unknown or unknowable, the focus must be on something that is controllable by choosing games that meet your desires as a player - if one of those desires is to win big jackpots!
Briefly, RTP is far less important when discussing volatile games like slots than the actual volatility is. A low variance game like blackjack will eat you alive if the rules are so bad that the 99.94% RTP (0.06% house edge) is reduced to 94% RTP (6% house edge) because it's simply a grind, waiting for that lucky streak. Slots, on the other hand, can give you wide swings, big roller coaster rides, and plenty of opportunities to cash out as a winner regardless of whether the RTP is 91% or 97.5%.
Why?
Because the real RTP numbers for slots only approach the theoretical numbers after millions of spins. A low V game can settle in at the theoretical number (+/- confidence interval) in several hundreds of thousands of spins, but a high V game can take millions of spins to reach its average mathematical 'equilibrium'. Deviation from the mean, how far it swings above and below the theoretical RTP determines the volatility.
✅Jackpot size
You will able to identify low-risk games because the RTG software labels them for you. In List view, or by clicking the red down arrow under a game in Icon view, you can see a rough volatility index of most RTG slots. Their range runs from "low" to "very high".
If you are playing at an RTG site that has a good reputation and few deposit incentives, lower percentage matches, and or higher wagering requirements - you are probably playing 95% RTP slots. While this element is harder to choose for, it's not impossible.
The last element is the size of the jackpots. In List view, you can sort by any number of game qualities, one of them is jackpot size.
- Low volatility
- Low house edge
- High jackpot size
Your mission here...
Use the two elements you can always control - volatility and jackpot size. Serious hunters might be interested to know that deep internet research, including the use of the Wayback Machine and some developer code to force Flash files to work, can uncover the high and low thresholds of many legacy RTG slots. If the range is 95%-97% you know the operator can't set it lower.
In layman's practice, simply sort games by jackpot value in descending order (click 'jackpot' to toggle between ascending and descending) in List view.
Near the top of the list identify a game you enjoy that resides on the lower end of the volatility index.
If you have uncovered insider knowledge about the RTP range, you now have three elements under your control that were previously 100% under the auspices of fate. It is said that the power of fate stands above the power of the gods in the hierarchy of supernatural forces. Bringing any element of chaos under your control gives you special powers and increases your chances of cashing out the big prizes.
By choosing games using this selection criterion, you have now increased your chances of winning a jackpot because you will have more spins (which is concomitant to free raffle tickets entered into a draw).
The return to player percentage is higher which matters more with Low V games than Highly volatile titles.
And finally, the jackpot is higher than most so when you do win your value will be much greater.
This craft will only serve you if you choose bonuses with no max cashout... so let's look at the RedCherry bonus environment!
Bouses and Promotions
Our current best introductory offer is in the box above. Basic terms are listed and you can learn more by visiting the casino.
The regular bonus terms upon launch were attractive and better than most. While free chips, free spins, and cashback credits have higher wagering requirements and max cashouts than deposit bonuses. The match bonuses offer a good value if you like to play with a mixture of your funds and theirs.
Huge percentage matches and other welcome bonuses often have higher wagering requirements in order to discourage professional bonus hunters (advantage players).
Regular bonuses here (weekly 100% for example) have a wagering requirement of 25 x deposit plus bonus (25xd+b) and these offers have no max cashout. Can they maintain that level of generosity indefinitely? It's hard to say. If they do everything else right, yes.
Can you beat the bonus?
Yes, if you get lucky and play smart. Remember, the casino isn't out a penny when you win a progressive jackpot. The $1,000 seed money is made up through a slight RTP reduction so that comes out of players' pocket as does every increment of increased value. Any casino that acts like it's "their money" is giving you a clue about their basic intrinsic level of integrity and understanding of the business they are in.
A basic restriction here while playing with a bonus is a $5 max bet. Please note that the terms are crystal clear that the betting cap remains in place even after you complete wagering. I really like the way that term is "in your face" and not buried or clouded by other terms.
Many RTG casinos allow bets of $10 per spin. We see the $5 max bet rule as a risk-limiting term and a result of fiscal responsibility. New casinos that operate within their means from the very beginning are the most likely to maintain player satisfaction not to mention liquidity.
Note: The betting cap of $5 per spin remains a term in force even after you meet the wagering requirement.
This just means you will have to cash out your winnings, and they'll have to pay processing fees whether you redeposit or not. I guess they feel like if you are on a roll you are likely to stay on a roll. See Newton's first law of motion (inertia). This term and the subsequent withdraw and potential redeposit must be the "unbalanced force" intended to put your power at rest or change the trajectory.
No partial withdrawals are accepted to cancel the bonus terms after meeting the wagering requirements - cash out all your winnings or stay under $5 per spin.
Comps accrue on every wager, bonus derived or not.
Don't request a bonus if you have a cash balance or your existing balance will become subject to wagering requirements too.
Is that kind of a sucky term? Yes. But..!
It's right there in easy to read white and black.
Players in most normally bonus-banned countries must make a cash deposit before becoming eligible for any non-deposit bonuses.
We don't find any murky or squishy terms or conditions. The rules are spelled out clearly in people-speak without a hint of legalese to confuse regular people. That's refreshing and always a good sign in our estimation.
Nothing complicated, no labyrinthine pathways or gotchas hiding behind a subsection to an addendum or anything of the sort. Nice! Please see our Banking review below for the sole exception to clarity, an obscure rule that will not affect many players - it's only for massive payouts (they can charge a fee).
Banking and Customer Service
The list of restricted countries is brief, so it's no surprise the list of banking options here is long.
Players in the USA and elsewhere can use Visa, Mastercard, direct bitcoin deposits, or QBDirect. Yandex, SafetyPay, and QIWI are also available. EZiPay/Payspark is found in the cashier as are Neosurf and Paysafecards. All of the aforementioned payment methods are viable deposit options.
On the withdrawals page, we see Bitcoin, free courier checks, ecoPayz, Neteller, and Bank wires - all free on the casino end.
The T&C does state that they reserve the right to charge reasonable fees, but the cashier lists all deposit and withdrawal options as free of charge.
The terms state that there is NO LIMIT on the size of cashout with the caveat: '...however large wins may be paid in installments depending on the limitations of the payment method used to withdraw'.
Within the cashier, we see a maximum of $25,000 per transaction for all methods. We don't suggest ever transferring $10,000 or more to a financial institution in a single transaction in the USA or most other countries due to reporting requirements.
Clarity Caveat: We're not sure we understand this rule completely, it seems to say that if they pay you more than ($25,000?) they might charge processing fees on any amount in excess of the withdrawal limit...
[The] casino reserves the right to apply reasonable charges for processing withdrawals. If a maximum withdrawal restriction is in place this charge will [be] applied after the maximum withdrawal restriction has been applied.
Customer care
"Antonio" answered our live chat hale within 5 seconds and was very knowledgeable and helpful.
Pitfalls
- Lack of owner/manager transparency (who is the operator?)
- No clickable license link
- Newer, currently unproven operation
- Single software site (RTG/SpinLogic)
The Final Word
RedCherry Casino is one of at least three gaming sites you can play at from a single account. As each future site is launched on The Online Casino network, we'll provide more information.
The unified account allows players to play at multiple properties while only needing to register and provide verification documents once for cashouts at all properties. Comp points and VIP rewards also accumulate into your single account across all casinos on the network.
The game selection is the same at any RTG gaming site, but very few operators are offering the download client these days. RedCherry customers have access to far more games than players at most Realtime Gaming casinos.
Downloading the desktop client also makes it possible to join tournaments when they are offered which aren't currently available in the mobile or instant play browser lobbies.
The bonus terms are clear, fair, and easy to understand. The wagering requirement and size of bonuses (upon launch) present players with much better chances of cashing out a win of any size, not to mention a big win (no max cashout) than most other sites on the RTG platform.
It's not possible to know at this point whether the expected value is due to sub-par RTP or if it's more of a "loss-leader" stratagem designed to attract new players with the intention of converting a loyal player base.
Banking options are numerous and we'd like a chance to take them up on a $25,000 Bitcoin withdrawal and then exchange BTC for USD and transfer the winnings to PayPal, a debit card, bank account, or all three in smaller increments. It would not be a surprise to see them lower the withdrawal limits after the 'honeymoon period' to bring them more in line with the competition.
I'm usually happy to let other players be the weather balloons for new/unknown operations. However, I will occasionally take on the role of a test-subject myself with profits from another casino. The welcome package here, along with the stated withdrawal limits and other terms, as well as the possibility that subsequent 'skins' will offers games from a diverse range of suppliers all add up to make this a gamble worth taking for me.
Of course, I will keep my ear to the ground and my eye on the horizon for any signs of sketchiness, player complaints, etc., but...
I'm going in!
