VIP Casino Royal Review Jump to comments
VIP Casino Royal is an online casino for players in the USA and elsewhere. Look for a nice selection of mostly 3D slots from developers like Betsoft, Dragon Gaming, Dragoon Soft, and for players outside of the US, a selection of Felix Games is also available.
The site operates with limited transparency as far as licensing information and ownership go, but it does maintain a direct connection to casino support on at least one of the major player forums. The Direct Casino Support threads at LCB.org are completely transparent with all questions, complaints, and other inquiries appearing in the public domain.
The site’s digital literature states that the brand was created in March 2020. However, the copyright on the website is from 2021 and it appears to have been operating under its current domain since January 2022. Perhaps the company was formed, and “launched” on the earlier date but the public door to the slot machines and other games seems to have opened later.
Banking is made easy by them accepting Mastercard debit and credit cards as well as American Express and cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. Your first withdrawal could take up to 21 days due to KYC (know your customer) requirements but subsequent cashouts should come much quicker with a pending time of 48-72 hours. Bank wire withdrawals take longer, as always but Bitcoin is faster than bank wires. Bank checks should arrive in 7 to 10 working days after approval.
Bonuses are rich - out of the gate - but terms and offers often change. Wagering is 30x in the terms but some offers may come with different requirements. Free chips and other risk-free offers have their own terms and max cashouts.
Many of the deposit bonuses come with extra spins or chips. There’s also a cashback offer but you’ll need to contact customer service to learn your particular terms as they aren’t spelled out generally for all players. All bonuses we examined had a max cashout of 10x deposit and there is a term stating the most that can be withdrawn from any deposit - with or without a bonus - is also 10x.
While we don’t find a history connected to the operators the terms and conditions are highly similar to those found at Bobby Casino - another newer site with player support on the forums. Representatives have not had to field any complaints and player comments are sparse with no complaints of bad business practices i.e. violation of terms.
We’ll take a look at the site and take the terms at face value. If we run across anything that seems a bit squishy or unclear, we’ll make notes of those along the way as we review and then present a bulleted list for quick viewing.
Software and Games
This is a basic site with easy enough navigation. With only a few game providers there doesn’t seem to be any sense in presenting a complicated sorting and filtering process to find games. The game types are simply categorized as All Games, Featured Games, Slots, Table Games, and Video Poker. The vast majority of titles are slots and most of those are provided by Betsoft.
The table games are on a single page with almost every sort of game imaginable. Again, most are Betsoft titles but you’ll also find at least three games from Dragon including blackjack and two roulette variants. There are at least two more titles in the development pipeline ready for release so look for more Dragon Gaming titles under table games when you visit.
Deuces Wild is a lonely Betsoft video poker game, but more could always be added in the future.
While there weren’t any live dealer tables on offer when we visited, we did find the following RNG (random number generator) titles:
- American Roulette
- Baccarat
- Blackjack
- Caribbean Poker
- Draw Hi-Lo
- European Roulette
- Oasis Poker
- Pai Gow
- Pirate 21
- Pontoon
- Red Dog
- Three Card Rummy
- Top Card Trumps
- Triple Edge Poker
That’s a pretty good assortment of table games!
Slots selection
We visited the site from the USA and didn’t notice many Felix Gaming titles. However, that doesn’t mean they were geo-blocked - we simply didn’t notice many titles that stuck out for the brand. After signing up, a five-image splash screen loaded for It’s a Joker, but no game was available. We closed it out and tried to reload and the system told us to log out and back in as playing two games at a time is not allowed. After logging back in we were able to stake funds on the game.
To find slots, simply start to type a slot game name into the search box or scroll down the page visually. When you reach the bottom of the page there is a button to load more.
Most of the titles have a free-play button, but not all of them. Felix Gaming slot, It’s a Joker didn’t have free play.
Betsoft and Dragon Gaming fill up most of the slot lobby.
Dragoon Soft slots
Dragoon Soft titles are relatively new to players in the US and anywhere outside of Asia - the provider shouldn’t be confused with Dragon Gaming. According to the Dragoon Gaming website, which is available in Chinese and English, its customer base is distributed around the following percentages in each region.
Southeast Asia 57%
China 21%
Northeast Asia 13%
Europe 7%
America 2%
It’s always fun to find an operator willing to bring “new” games to underserved markets like ours in the USA, Canada, New Zealand, and nearby.
Please feel free to leave a comment below if you find these games when you visit and would like to share your experience playing them. I am particularly fond of Asian slot games thanks to the innovative bonus features - especially the multi-tier progressive bonuses found on some of them.
Dragon Gaming slots
This developer has really “upped its game” in the last year or two. Many of the slots are indistinguishable from those made by decades-old veterans like Betsoft, except in the user interface.
Of course, not all of their games have multifaceted bonus features and cinema-quality animated 3D graphics. Take The Wild Show, for example. This game has three reels and one pay line, but a high hit frequency with 96.10% RTP, and a top payout of $1,200. It’s medium volatility so it’s always worth a few spins or you might spend a lot of a session on it. No matter how you dress a random game, one that pays is always fun. Hit 2 Wilds and it respins until you hit a winning combination.
While the variety of themes. The RTP, and math models run the gamut, there’s something “fetching” about almost all the Dragon games. Much like the Dragoon Soft titles, you will find plenty of Eastern-themed games, but they also provide a litany of diverse titles. Most of the games are over 96^ RTP, a few in the 95s, and we have found two that are in the 94% range - Zombie Invasions and Prosperous Bloom.
It’s a shame that Zombie Invasion is “only” 94.1% RTP, but that’s still 20 pp better than Las Vegas slots are required to pay!
Land the Policeman, Waitress, and Runner Zombies on reels 1, 3, and 5 to start the Escape Infected City bonus game with five levels of play. Open doors on each level to kill a zombie or progress to the next level - or, as happens, be killed by a zombie and see the feature end.
On each level, a higher win multiplier is available with Level 5 offering 1000x your bet. If free spins bonuses are more to your liking you’ll find up to 20 free games with Random Wilds triggered with scatters.
If you are a risk taker or at least want the opportunity to follow a hunch and bet big on a slot now and then, try Four MIghty Beasts. This game allows you to buy respins on any individual reel to build up massive wins - but - you will also take massive risks if you ride it until the wheels fall off. I’ve seen one set of circumstances where at least two reels would only cost $0.01 to respin, but the central reel had a price tag of over $1,500! Of course, nobody has to take that sort of risk to have fun and maybe even win.
Betsoft slots
Most players in markets served by Betsoft are familiar with many of their titles. I’ve always found them to be less interesting than games from most other makers, but that is just a personal preference. My favorite Betsoft titles are the ones I can manipulate to play around with the volatility.
Mamma Mia! Is a game that will allow you to blaze through wagering requirements by purchasing Wild positions on specific reels (when allowed) for an all-or-nothing experience that can end up with a nice fat bankroll. Unfortunately, it can take some big bets because the wilds you will want to buy come at a high price and if a few spins don’t pan out you can go broke in a hurry.
Of course, this type of game is not for everyone, but if you like controlling your own risk I can suggest at least one more. Good Girl Bad Girl, also a jackpot game, has low volatility right to left and offers high-risk spins left to right. Switch around following your gut or simply choose both girls for wins both ways and medium volatility.
Bonuses and Promotions
Since deposit incentives and free spins/chip offers change a lot over time, we’ll just point you to the top of this page to find the latest offers on our dynamic bonus display. It changes as the current offers change and includes basic terms. However, always be sure to check the official terms and conditions on the gaming site as those can change quickly too. For instance, a week ago the site was not accepting players from the USA but they are now. Always read the terms.
The terms as they exist today include a 30x wagering requirement on all match bonuses, regardless of the percentage. Most of the offers we are seeing are high-percentage offers. The caveat is that all deposits come with a 10x deposit max cashout term whether you use a bonus or not.
So, since 30x d+b is better than most places and the fact the wagering requirement doesn’t go up with larger percentage matches, there’s no reason for players who want to get the most out of their deposit to decline the bonuses. However, that’s a strictly personal preference. If you can cash out the same amount with or without a bonus, why not take one if you mostly enjoy extended playtime and never expect to hit many jackpots? A max win every ten deposits is a break-even with bonuses, so that’s something to consider too.
Free chips and free spins have their own wagering requirements and max cashout amounts - usually 60x for slots and $100. When offered a $25 free chip no cashout is allowed according to the terms. There are other clunkers in there - some simply don’t make sense in or out of context, and usually revolve around unique terms related to “play/no max bonuses”, “free processors”, and other alienesque jargon. When in doubt, shout out to customer service.
Some of the seemingly contradictory or nonsensical terms are probably due to a poor translation, however, the good news is that English support is available from customer service.
- Your account must be at $5 or less to claim a bonus
- No two free chips in a row without a paid deposit in between
Banking and Customer Service
When we signed up, Mastercard, Visa, and American Express (Amex) as well as Bitcoin were accepted for deposit. The minimum deposit amount was $30 and the max per transaction was $200 with multiple transactions accepted.
Bank wires and Bitcoin wallet withdrawals were offered.
While the first withdrawal can take up to 21 days to process due to KYC (document verification), subsequent withdrawals should be completed more quickly. Most sites are reporting 48 to 72 hours pending. The following term is probably included in order for the operators to always stay within their own terms and conditions if some unexpected delay should occur:
It takes 3 to 4 business days for funds to be transferred once a withdrawal has been allowed; once verified, it takes 3 to 4 business days for the cash to be remitted. We will not be held liable for bank/ wallet processing times.
Customer care
The live chat link is omnipresent on the pages - you’ll need to hover over it to bring up the “X” and close it. An email address and link are also provided on the Contact Us page.
Pitfalls
- Limited number of games (+/- 200)
- No live dealers
- Max cashout (10x deposit)
- Some oblique terms (unfamiliar jargon e.i. “Free processors” etc)
- No linked license
- Long pending period for first cashout (max 21 days)
The Final Word
VIP Casino Royal offers an interesting assortment of high-quality slots for players in the US, Canada, New Zealand, and elsewhere. While the variety is good, the number of games is limited.
We don’t find a live dealer suite at this minimalistic and highly focused gaming site, but the selection of random number generator table games covers most if not all the bases.
The bonuses are generous, but all that we saw also had max cashouts of 10x deposit. Unfortunately, unless we are reading the terms wrong, no deposit with or without a bonus can be turned into more than 10x your deposit - that makes this a special kind of “casino” that in reality is not much more than a place to pay for entertainment for many players.
That said, I’m cocky enough to think I can beat the bonus more than one time out of every ten times on average, simply because I don’t find any max bet amounts listed and many Betsoft games have a player-choosable number of paylines. The average gambler who never cashes out more than 10x their deposit might have their own reasons to take the max cashout provisions in stride and enjoy massive bonuses with restrictive terms.
While the variety of restrictions when taken together might not flesh out the absolute best possible gaming experience and collectively might lead a seasoned analyst to assume it is a thinly funded gaming site, the fact that they would be limiting business risk with those conditions, rather than seeking maximum profits is actually a good sign. They simply can’t lose money or fail to build reserves as long as they have customers. That due diligence and risk limiting also lead one to believe they do indeed operate with a license but have chosen to not reveal the regulator.
At this point, we just don’t know.
