Crypto Thrills Casino Review Jump to comments
Crypto Thrills Casino is an alternative currency gambling site launched in early 2019. The site offers a variety of real money online gambling games from Genii/Saucify (formerly BetOnSoft) and welcomes players from the United States.
Although the site doesn't display licensing information, that's not too surprising based on US laws and changing opinions from the administrators and interpreters of those regulations. Several online casinos serving the USA, including Bet Casino Grand Bay, Lincoln, and others with sustained reputations choose not to display license information even though they are licensed.
This site also chooses to leave out company information but does provide contact information in the form of an email address and a contact page.
Based on certain wording in the terms and conditions, as well as proprietary information garnered from technological records, taken together with a statement in the FAQ alluding to the number of years the operational team has been in business, leads us to an educated guess as to who is behind the site.
That said, it is further unclear if it is operating as a white label (B2B) or is "company owned" (B2C). The same expectations should hold true either way.
Based on what is known, from a curious and diligent player's perspective, this reviewer believes the operators have built a mixed reputation for nearly two decades with most historical complaints coming from free bonus hunters. In one instance, marketing partners may have been affected.
We are not aware of any refusal to pay out on straight deposits or percentage match bonuses and I have deposited at a site I assume to be operated by the same team within the last 30 days.
Players should do their own due diligence and perhaps ask a customer service agent if the site is licensed and if they can provide any referrals. This review is an observation of the new site, the software and games, bonuses, promotions, and banking methods. We'll also note any pitfalls and give a final analysis. Our job is to inform, and occasionally advise, not to steer or control our readers.
Software and Games
The site performs well on desktop or mobile. Rather than provide a hamburger menu for mobile or scaled desktop view, you'll need to swipe side to side to see the full horizontal menu.
Most of the top-tier (header) navigation in desktop view is devoted to bonuses and promotions. Below that, players can choose:
- Featured
- Video Slots
- Video Poker
- Table Games
Overall, the site is laid out quite simply with easy navigation. That is, once you figure out that you need to go to "Other Games" at the bottom of the page to open the filters menu on the left. We were unable to find the filters menu on mobile. We assume this is a beta glitch that has been overlooked or is under development as the site has not been live for long.
The filtering isn't extremely sophisticated, but with a single game provider, we don't need to sort by the developer. Unfortunately, Saucify has never been overly transparent with their return to player (RTP) or volatility data, so we can't expect to sort in those ways anyway.
Without data sheets for the games, we would take any second or third-hand reports about Saucify RTP, variance, and popularity with a grain of salt.
Players can sort by:
- Type of game
- Game features
- Pay lines
Video Slots
The games in this section run the gamut from titles originally released by BetOnSoft before they rebranded to Saucify in 2014, to newer games that have also become known by the Genii name. It's unclear just how and where the games are developed, but the Genii Limited label would seem to be a separate company with more transparency, that is licensed by the UKGC. Games claimed by both companies overlap with occasional rebrandings such as BetOnSoft/Saucify's Double Trouble and Genii's Sassy Spies.
To be sure...
The Saucify website displays the iTech Labs shield. Genii would have had to have the games tested and certified by an accredited testing house prior to receiving a license from the UKGC. The Gambling Commission has awarded the company a remote gaming license for Casino and Gambling Software.
Look for "time one" games with high paying multipliers during free spins such as Gunspinner's Gold (formerly, Fist Full of Dollars) with expanding wilds and variable paylines.
You'll also find original as well as enhanced versions of older titles such as Big Game, Road Trip, and Horn of Plenty. The enhanced games are rebranded to include the word, Spin16.
Spin16 games were released in early 2017. They look like regular slots for the most part, but they operate differently. The reels will spin up, down, left, and right. This is great for mobile play as you simply grab a reel and spin it the direction you want all of the reels to spin.
No matter how they are spun, a green 'multiplier match' arrow will take a random trek around the outside of the reels. Multipliers up to 10x will appear in the direction, or opposite direction of your spin. when the green match arrow is positioned on your chosen reel, direction, or both, the multiplier will apply.
You can also use one of two spin buttons instead of activating a specific spin direction. Spin "Cold" or spin "Hot" to try to match a multiplier.
Age of Spartans offers a 20,000 coin jackpot, wild multipliers on the reels worth 2x, and scatters to trigger free games.
Unfortunately, they have decided, so far, not to offer classic 3-reel games here. For potential high returns via volatility, we'd suggest the nine-line Roll Up! Roll Up!, Double Trouble, or Age of Spartans (Original).
One of the best 10 reel games out there, if you like colorful slots with augmented soundtracks and stacked symbols is Realms.
According to a section of the online FAQ, 7 Chakras, Big Game, Wild Berry, Age of Spartans, Gems n Jewels, and Sirens’ Serenade are the most popular games.
Video Poker
Players will find a good selection of video poker games here from single hand to 50 hand versions. The paytables are "iffy" to very good with the more volatile games giving the lowest returns.
Jacks or Better is 9/6 full pay with a house edge of just 0.46% (99.54% return) while at least four games (Bonus Deuces, Bonus Poker, Bonus Poker Deluxe, and Double Bonus) return 99.45%. At the very bottom of the list is Deuces and Joker Wild with a big payout, but an RTP of only 97.97%.
Table Games
At least upon launch, the site seemed more devoted to slot players than card and table game aficionados. Perhaps the filters weren't fully deployed yet, but we were only able to find a small handful of blackjack variants and one single zero European roulette table.
Blackjack:
- Single Deck
- European
- Atlantic City
- Vegas Strip
Other Games
There are four varieties of keno here including classic, Captain Keno, PowerBall Keno, and Superkeno.
Bonuses and Promotions
Many alternative currency sites don't offer great bonuses, but the first match here on par with non-crypto sites. The wagering requirements are as reasonable as most, and better than some. Percentage matches of 100% or less don't have maximum cashout limits.
The minimum deposit threshold to claim a bonus is very low for a site that accepts US players.
Loyalty tier Anniversary and Birthday bonuses are mentioned in the terms and may come as a pleasant surprise for some players.
Be sure to look over specific bonus terms as some types of games can only be played with bonus money after a certain number of deposits.
Like most places, if the terms state that a certain action could result in loss of winnings, it probably will.
Banking and Customer Service
Upon launch, the site accepted three kinds of cryptocurrencies:
mBTC (Milli Bitcoin)
mBCH (Milli Bitcoin Cash)
mLTC (Milli Litecoin)
Withdrawals must be made in the same type of coin as the deposit was.
Deposits should be instant, taking into consideration network traffic, confirmations, etc.
Withdrawals are stated as immediate and within 30 minutes.
Maximum withdrawal amounts per week are based on tier levels, with no concrete definition of what determines a player's tier level nor how and when they may advance. The amounts are quite low and should be examined before depositing. Depending on current BTC volatility the terms should be checked often.
While this may not please players who want to be paid a full jackpot as soon as they win, it is actually a good sign. It means the venue is operating under a licensor's financial guidelines, is soundly managed financially, or both. They should be able to service all payouts within terms and conditions.
The minimum withdrawal amount for straight deposits and match bonuses is very low compared to most sites.
Customer Service
Look for a FAQ and Contact links under "Support" in the footer. An email address is provided with a promise of 24/7 support, 365 days a year. The live chat icon on the bottom of the page will bring up a new window so you can continue navigating the site and playing if your question isn't urgent.
Pitfalls
- New casino
- No ownership stated
- No license on display
- Low weekly withdrawal limits
There are unclear or contradictory terms indicating in one subsection that it's okay to play for 5 minutes or up to 25% of deposit before requesting a match bonus - but in another, it states that nothing can be wagered prior.
The Final Word
If your preferred method of depositing and withdrawing is a digital currency, and you simply love BetOnSoft/Saucify/Genii games, this is the place for you to test the waters. As the site is a new launch and we don't want to take a chance of receiving preferential treatment, I won't be depositing here for several months. When I'm sure I can play anonymously I'll give it a go and possibly revisit this review in the future.
With such a low minimum deposit (under $10 at today's BTC exchange rate), and with what I think I know, it seems worth a try. Other than the occasional ludicrously generous first BTC deposit bonus, the only reason I personally use BTC is for the instant payouts, especially now that Coinbase is selling to PayPal again (instantly out of the casino and instantly into my hot little hand).
As the weekly withdrawal limits are very low for new customers, I would jump ship at the first sign of a slow pay unless it was a blockchain problem occurring elsewhere as well.
It's nice to see more software becoming available for digital coin play! If you have a good or not so grand experience with Crypto Thrills Casino, please feel free to leave your own review below.
