Wshful Review

Wshful offers players an opportunity to increase their chances of winning at three of the most popular lotteries in Europe.

Games currently available include Euromillions, Mega Millions, and bonus Powerball draws.

They organize player pools to increase each member's chances of winning by up to 120x.

You might ask yourself...

How could that be?

We'll show you in this review just how that works. For now, we'll simply promise your chances of winning can be greatly increased without a dramatic increase in costs. If we promised anything more, like better odds per Euro, we'd either be confused or pulling your leg.

First, let's look at what Wshful is and what it is not:

  • It is a legal UK business entity, registered in England, operating within the law
  • It is a Lottery Syndicate Organizer
  • It's not a lottery promoter
  • It's not a UKGC licensed gambling company
  • It's not regulated by the Financial Services Authority

We'll break that all down in a moment. For now, we'll tell you who Wshful is...

Imagine a community of over 5,000 members pooling their individual power together to play in lottery syndicates. If you aren't familiar with the term, it simply means that more than one person buys the same lottery numbers - like you might do at work, with family and friends, or through a pool at the pub.

In fact, that's how they started. Their first syndicates purchased tickets for family, friends, and friends of friends. Within a few months, it started to get out of hand so they began automating their system. In 2017, they were ready to offer it to the general public and launched the website.

As of January 2019, they have already paid out over 600 "small" wins, and someday, members will almost certainly share in one of the world's largest jackpots. Numbers are numbers, and the numbers don't lie. It simply has to come to be!

This isn't some sort of "brute force scam". Imagine if the lottery pot was £100,000,000, tickets cost £1 and your odds were 1,000,000:1 to win the jackpot - You could simply buy every possible combination of numbers for £1m and even if 5 other people got so "lucky, you'd still end up with £4m profit after splitting the pot six ways - that's Brute Force, and that's not what this is, but it works in a similar way to increase your chances!

What does the Gambling Commission think about pooling money together in order to increase member's chances of winning?

Let's look at their guidance on running a lottery syndicate and find out:

In a traditional workplace lottery syndicate, person A offers to purchase lottery tickets, using the money of persons B, C, and D. As far as the lottery operator is concerned, person A is the only ticket holder.

Therefore, the lottery promoter would only distribute any prize won to person A. Persons B, C, and D would not have a direct claim. The fact that person A has agreed to distribute the prize, if any of the tickets win, amongst persons B, C, D, gives a contractual relationship between the parties.

This personal syndicate organizer (person A) would avoid being classed as a lottery promoter. If a business operated syndicates as described, the same would apply.

Seems straight forward enough.

What does Wshful offer?

Quite simply, they organize groups of members, who pay a subscription fee (minimum 4 weeks) and pool their money to buy tickets.

#1 This increases your chances of winning

#2 It increases your odds of winning a jackpot or other prize

#3 It also dilutes the amount of money you win in direct proportion to your increased odds

The first two are obvious, right? If you buy 2 tickets, you have 2x the chances to win. Your odds are doubled (or halved, depending on which side of the desk you or on).

But let's look at #3:

The EuroMillions Jackpot offers an average prize of £39,935,092

If there are 88 members in your syndicate, you would divide that prize eighty-eight ways when you win [39,935,092/88 = 453,804.83].

The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 139,838,160

Increase your chances with 87 other players and that number becomes 1 in 1,589,070. Still a long shot, but when we strip some zeroes off the numbers, 1.5 is so much better than 139!

No, you won't win £40m, but you are sooo much more likely to win about half a million. If half a million would change your life, this model might be the one for you.

Of course, that's just the average jackpot... the top ten Huge Jackpots have all been over £150,000,000!

How does it work?

The syndicates work on a subscription model. Players choose at what level they wish to participate.

  • Basic [(Bronze) 1 syndicate, 80 chances]
  • Standard [(Silver) 3 syndicates, 240 chances]
  • Premium [(Gold) 6 syndicates, 480 chances]

Each progressive option gives players more chances, better odds, and reduced cost. Higher levels offer better value due to pricing breaks.

The company never takes a commission on winnings, your equal share goes directly into your account. Cash out any time you have more than £3.

Pros of playing in a syndicate

Your chances of winning any prize are greatly increased. The jackpot, 1st, and 2nd tier prizes are really what it's all about! You are also more likely to pick up your share of smaller prizes, so it's more certain you won't go bust every single week as you would playing alone.

Syndicate play is more like roulette and individual play is more like a slot machine. Wshful takes some of the volatility out of the equation. You'll win more often, you won't win as much, and if you win a super prize it might still be super.

Cons of playing in a syndicate

All for one and one for all is a two-edged sword. Yes, you have a better chance to win the jackpot... but... you have to share the prize.

There is a solution, however. In addition to your subscription, you can always pick up a ticket on your own each draw! You might win the big one, and when you win a lower tier prize, it's all yours.

How do I join a syndicate?

Go to the website and take a look around. Go to the support page or the "How it Works" page if you want to learn more. Otherwise, navigate to "Pricing", choose your subscription level (infinite subscriptions with 4-week minimums, pricing from around 10p to 20p per lottery line).

  • Visit site
  • Register an account
  • Proceed to payment (Visa and Mastercard are accepted)

How do I stay on top of my account?

You'll find sections detailing your tickets, your winnings, a withdrawal page, as well as how to invite friends and win free entries.

If you have a win of around £150 or more you will be notified by phone or email. Otherwise, you'll need to check your account.

When you want to withdraw winnings, just hit the button, fill in banking details and your cash will be in your bank account in a few days.
