Alderney description
Alderney is the third largest of the Channel Islands of the Bailiwick of Guernsey. The island is located just 60 miles from mainland Britain and eight miles from France. The island has its own government, legislature, and company laws, with the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) overseeing the online gambling industry.
The AGCC was first established in May 2000 with the Commission made up of three members, plus the Chairman. The group is independent and non-political. The Commission regulates online gambling for the States of Alderney, ensuring regulatory compliance of any license holder.
The Commission is in charge of overseeing the entire industry, from the licensing process to player protection. Any company interested in licensing in Alderney must be registered on the island and prepare to complete the application process.
