About the Company

Triple PG, known variously as TPG or Triple Profits Games is an online real money gambling game developer. We find about 50 slots titles in deployment, mostly at Asian-facing casinos. The website doesn't provide ownership or other proprietary information including whether or not the games and random number generator are certified, or if the company is properly licensed.

Launched in April 2014, "[W]ith one focus to provide cutting-edge products designed specifically to improve conversion rates and NGR (Net Gaming Revenue) for gaming operators," the games are "strictly tested for accuracy and reliability. Games are developed with the idea of 'responsible gaming' in line with the GLI specification".

You can find many of their titles online by visiting Dafabet, or Live Casino House or any of about a half dozen other sites.

Software and Games

The company would appear to provide more than individual games to be plugged into another platform, as they write about their own dashboard which is meant to optimize player retention through bonus management. It also provides operators with easily understandable information about their traffic patterns, player trends, and profit or loss.

Multiplatform support is provided with HTML5, Android, and iOS versions for all of their games. The games and interface are available in several languages including English, Chinese (simplified and traditional) Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese and others.

Perhaps of most interest to operators and players alike is what they call, "Dynamic Margin Configuration". This feature is said to offer complete flexibility and control, the ability to adjust margin based on games, and the ability to adjust margin based on players group.

While we won't second guess what that means, the most obvious interpretation is probably the most elegant.

As meanings can get lost in translation when exploring multilingual content, we'll give the benefit of the doubt and suggest that some games are more profitable than others and operators have the ability to switch them out or focus their in-game messaging and daily bonuses on the most profitable games.

The dashboard may also allow certain games to appear to certain groups of players, based on algorithms that use the operator's data.

The Games

TPG offers games in several different categories. These include:

  • Slot Games
  • Fun Slots
  • Casual Games
  • Table Games
  • Fishing Game

Slots

Many of the slot games seemed to be clones or near clones. The same paytables and bonus features were employed repeatedly over games with different themes and artwork. No datasheets were available for public consumption on the official website and we didn't run exhaustive testing. Hit frequency, volatility, distribution of RTP between base game versus features, and total return to player percentages were not available.

One innovation seems to run through most or all of the slot titles, and that is the "Booster" feature.

Clicking on the Lightning menu icon will open a dialogue allowing players to choose:

  • No Booster (default)
  • Wild Card (change a slot to wild)
  • Lock Reel (lock a reel)
  • Double Payout (payout + 100%)

The extra cost per spin for each feature is determined by the amount bet. On the games we tested we found the following...

Wild Card - The upper reel position on reel number one was turned wild for 2x the regular bet. Rather than costing 10.00 for a spin, the price was 10.00 + 10.00, or 20.00 per spin. Toggling on and off several times did not change the number of wild symbols or where it was located. However, clicking any of the 15 reel positions did activate a different placement without changing the cost of the 'upgrade'.

Lock Reel - Any reel not displaying a Wild symbol can be locked for 2x the basic bet. It doesn't matter which reel, as long as there is no wild symbol in any of the three row-positions for the reel you wish to lock. It is not possible to lock more than one reel.

Double Payout - This simply doubles your bet and doubles the return when you land a winning combination. The process of toggling the booster on or off is no quicker or easier than simply changing the bet per line.

More Menu Items

Clicking the three-dot menu icon in the lower left quadrant of the game screen brings up the settings menu. Here you can choose:

Bet Setting (lines when variable, bet per line)

Pay Table Free spins and mini-game triggers are illustrated in the paytable, but there is no explanation provided beyond needing three of either scatter to trigger.

Game Rules (game rules are not explained. However, menu features are illustrated).

Free Spins - 5 bonus spins. The feature can be retriggered.

Mini-Game - A single choice picking game for cash prizes

Slots Game Play

The user isn't able to override anything currently occurring on the screen. You must wait until the game has displayed any win amounts or other programmed activity before spinning again.

Fun Slots

This category is not very densely populated. In short, they could be considered 'arcade games'. Book of Dragons is interesting in that rather than spinning reels, the 'book' produces dragons for the player to match up. Three identical dragons create a win, with each subsequent match from the triggering 'spin' awarding a higher multiplier. There is also a 'respin' feature.

Casual Games

Look for titles like DJ Mario, Dessert Marie, Xi You Mario, and Neon Keno

Table Games

Super Baccarat and Super 6 are on the menu for lovers of this card game. The Super 6 game is rudimentary with an overhead view of the table. The dealer is a cutesy sort of character with an oversized head. The paytable is standard as are the game rules. Side bets such as pairs pay 11:1, ties pay 8:1 and Super 6 pays 12:1. This bet should only be taken with the last of your bankroll or on a prescient hunch as the house edge is nearly 30% and the probability of the Banker getting a total of six is under 5.4%

Fishing Game is another casual arcade-type game designed for fun and entertainment.

The Final Analysis

TPG offers a variety of games, most of which are slots. The slot games do not offer much diversity except in themes and imagery. The opportunity to purchase a "boost" consisting of a wild card to be placed anywhere on the reels, a locked reel, or a bet doubler does not make sense to this reviewer.

The odds would tell us that placing a Wild Card further to the left would be the best bet and should cost more than pacing one further to the right, so it's unclear what's going on behind the curtain on this optional feature. If the games or software were at all sophisticated, players would be able to place as many wilds as they like, anywhere on the 3x5 reel display, as long as they were willing to pay the price - based on the odds.

As for Locking Reels, players may be able to gain a slight advantage by locking the first reel if it contained the most valuable symbols. However, the cost (2x basic bet) could never be recouped under fair maths except in very lucky circumstances.

The Double Payout also costs twice as much as a spin with no boost selected so it's also, regrettably, an exercise in futility.

If the software were much more advanced, the RNG certified, and the company licensed under a robust regulatory framework, it would be exciting to see all three of the Boost capabilities available for any given spin. The feature set is a great idea, but it fails on execution.

We find many Asian slot developers to offer engaging, innovative, and unique slots - these games are like a painful trip down memory lane to the days of the first Chartwell or Parlay clunkers.
