Quantum Blackjack by Playtech

In an online casino world rich with options, how can one title stand out from the pack?

This is especially challenging when the game in question is Blackjack, one of most popular table games in the world.

As it happens, the venerable designer Playtech has come up with a brilliant answer in their Live Quantum Blackjack release.

The approach is similar to the one the same firm used in their runaway hit Quantum Roulette: take an already nearly-perfect game, and spice it up!

Where does that spice come from?

Added win multipliers.

Thanks to RNG multipliers, the max win on a single hand takes an astonishing leap from traditional blackjack’s 3:2 to a jaw-dropping 999:1!

Not only does this make for increased excitement, but it does so without compromising the strong odds treasured by blackjack fans the whole world over. With an incredible RTP of 99.47%, this is just about as good as gambling odds get under any circumstances.

Before zooming in on what makes this title so special, let’s focus first on the company that brought it to the world.

The Designer

Even with today’s increased parity, driven by major successes from previously unknown companies, Playtech remains an absolute powerhouse in the industry.

They are the largest publicly traded online gaming software company in the world; they boast a catalogue of over 250 games that covers just about every possible variety of gaming style and structure, from arcade games to baccarat, slots, and even virtual horse racing; and they seem to be constantly in the news as they expand into new markets.

Whatever way you look at it, this company is right in the middle of the action!

They’re based on the Isle of Man, but make no mistake: their presence is worldwide, and makes itself felt in all phases of the industry. And having proven their mettle consistently since their 1998 founding, it certainly seems like they’re here to stay for the long haul.

Their reliably excellent standards provide a big part of the reason for their prolonged success. And with the splash their Quantum series seems to have made, it does seem that they’re taking things to the next level.

The Game

Like a true master, Playtech has built something that is both timeless and brand new here.

The beauty of this title is that any player with experience playing blackjack will immediately feel at home here. There are no new rules or tricks to learn, and play unfolds just as one would expect. An 8-deck shoe is used, and only a single hand is dealt.

What differentiates Quantum Blackjack from other blackjack games is not extra side bets or games within games…

… rather, it’s the random boosts to a player’s bottom line!

On each hand, three playing card values will be chosen at random to include win multipliers of 3x, 5x, or 10x. If a player has one or more of these cards in their hand and if their hand beats the dealer’s, the win will be multiplied by the factor displayed.

Better still, if two or three multiplier cards appear in a gambler’s hand, those multipliers are themselves multiplied – in this way, a winning hand with multipliers of 3x and 10x would be boosted by 30x, and a win with three 10x multipliers would receive an increase of 1000x!

(Again, this will only be true if the player’s hand beats that of the dealer.)

Two other optional bets are available: Perfect Pairs and 21:3.

One other important notice: if a player busts on three cards, the round is considered a push, with bets returned to players (and multipliers paid, if there are any in your hand).

Taken together with the win multiplier factor, some modifications to basic strategy might be called for in order to maximize this game’s unique payout structure.

Specifically, player’s may find themselves hitting and splitting more often than they normally would. With each new card potentially offering a win multiplier, and with three card busts counting as a push, what would be an unwisely aggressive approach in a traditional game may be the best option here.

Finally, it should be said that the visual design is beyond reproach. If Evolution Gaming usually wears the crown of best graphics in the live dealer arena, Playtech more than gives them a run for their money here. Blue and silver lines dart out against an all-black playing surface and background, while the dealers sport bow ties and sharp suits. In an offering this strong, looking this good is just the icing on the cake.

Where to Play

Since Playtech is such a well-regarded and -respected designer, players enjoy a wealth of quality options when it comes to the choice of where to play.

One excellent options is Queen Vegas Casino, a fine outfit that offers reliably solid bonuses for sign up, 2nd deposit, and the like. In addition to solid live dealer options, they also offer sports betting, table games, and much more.

Another potentially worthy suitor is Surf. They are an internationally well-regarded site that offers competitive bonuses for initial deposits and much more.
