European Rouletteby IGT Interactive

The existence of a single zero, rather than two zero wells effectively cuts the house edge in half compared to American roulette. There are no bad bets with European Roulette by Boss Media. The object of the game is to predict which of the 37 wells the ball will fall into. Straight up bets are placed on a singe number and offer a 35:1 payout for those who like to risk the odds, whereas an outside bet of red or black, odd or even, first or last 18 pays 1:1.

For the outside bets you will have 36 chances to win and 37 chances to lose giving the House an edge of 2.70%. For the mathematically inclined this number is arrived at by the following formula: −1×36⁄37 + 35×1/37 = −0.0270. Regardless of the volatility of any bet (risk vs reward) all bets on the European table have the same expected loss of 0.053 – hence no system or method can ever produce a winning result in the long run. The only way to profit is pure luck, and the ability to quit while you are ahead.
