Many roulette players enjoy the game because they have total control, every stake, of how much risk they want to take in return for rewards. The table and wheel never change and no system will ever change the universal odds of the game, but players can have a safe spin for even money if they bet odd or even, red or black – or they can risk the odds for a 35:1 payout by betting on a specific number. All possible variances in between can be achieved as well by spreading bets over the table; some high and some low risk.
The European roulette game gives cuts the House Edge in half as compared to American roulette. This is simply because there is one less green Zero space. Place your chips anywhere on the inside or outside of the betting table. Inside bets generally have higher risk and higher rewards. Outside bets are generally safer and payout less. There is, of course, no sense in betting on red and black at the same time, nor odd and even. Of course you would break even 36 out of 37 times, but the Zero space will come up once in any 37 spins on average and you would lose both bets. And there-in is the clue to the house advantage in European Roulette.
