About the Company
The online gaming world added a new family member in late 2019 with AllWaySpin (AWS).
The design studio produces a unique form of art in their slots, from the cutesy and adorable to the potentially terrifying, and everything in between.
We haven't seen them registered at any of the major Asian or other iGaming trade shows yet, but they are on our radar for a reason - they are an exciting new company with a somewhat novel offering.
We'll look into the company by examining their products, software, certifications, and anything else we can find out for you... but especially the games.
We find some associations or partnerships, but no news about business cooperation with The Gaming Platform (TGP-Europe) and GamingSoft. Either company could provide any of a full range of standard or bespoke services to the firm - or, they may simply be integrating AWS games onto their platforms as other solutions providers have.
We find the games alongside titles by Spadegaming, Habanero, TopTrend, and Pragmatic play at a few mostly Asian-facing online casinos such as the Indonesian attracting Lottery (Togel) 86, and Ace.
Software and Games
One of the highlights of the game developer's portfolio and suite is the potential to add gamification elements to any of their slots.
Here's what we mean by that...
Not only do they provide a plugin that allows for instant bonusing of VIP players, there are also in-game notifications for tournaments; achievements are updated in real-time on a player's status bar, but also multiple leaderboards update as progress occurs, which brings us to the ability for players to participate in multiple tournaments and never lose their place.
The studios also keep the content dynamic, so that when operators run a promotion - for example, a holiday campaign - the game art can be retrofitted and updated for the occasion.
But the gamification is not simply seasonal. Players can accumulate bonus coins throughout the entire lifetime of their engagement with the games. Operators can add dynamic challenges such as tasks for players to accomplish periodically and toss in a "lucky wheel" now and then to reward achievements and status.
Operators have an easy time offering these features to players because they come with a single integration... plugin one API and no further configuration is needed.
The company prides itself on super responsive HTML5 compatible game loading and low latency. The game system is continuously monitored to provide uptime as high as 99.99%, according to company literature.
Fine and well, but you might ask...
What about the games?
The first thing to note is that the site bears the bmm test labs logo, so the games adhere to stringent requirements of regulators in Asia, Europe, and the United States. While we don't find a link to specific licensing jurisdictions, that is not unusual. If a gaming site with a Malta license were to carry the authorized games, we would see the company listed on that license.
With PAGCOR's obfuscation of the information database when they created POGOs [(offshore casino operator licenses).PDF] it is nearly impossible to drill down and find any specific operation of the 60 or so license holders. There could be thousands of developers, not to mention gaming sites licensed under those published shell companies and corporate names.
Games on Offer
All games are HTML5 compatible for play on any device, including vertical view (portrait) mode on a mobile device. They play right in your internet web browser so no additional software downloads or apps are needed.
Each title has a unique and fairly in-depth narrative that we enjoyed.
The features are well thought out and are not rubber-stamped from each game to the next.
The low volatility games are indeed low, as evidenced by the paytables and the high-risk games offer as great as 28,812x awards.
The user interface is the same for desktop as it is for portrait orientation on a mobile, but has a scene filling the rest of the screen to the left and to the right of the game.
We'll start with...
DJ Monkey King
The back story is entertaining.
齊天大聖 Sun Wukong is the title character. The offspring of a goddess and adherent to Bodhi, the boy has many superhuman strengths and attributes including the ability to morph into many different objects and animals.
After invading the palace he battled four dragon kings and earned several powerful weapons. Now, he operates a nightclub owned by the Jade emperor and invites you in to forget your worries and dance the night away.
Nice, huh?
It's a high-risk 3x5 game with a baseline reelset featuring 243 ways to win. Almost every other spin will return something, but not usually much until you trigger the feature.
Here, the reelset expands to create 7,203 ways to win with expanding wilds making it possible to win up to a 28,812x multiple of your bet.
The RTP (theoretical return to player percentage) is a meager 95.02%, but with a volatility index of 67% (4 out of 6) giving or taking a few numbers, either way, it will not likely make a difference to most players.
Throwing Disks are the scatter symbols and 3 or more will trigger free games. Three scatters will award 10, four=15, and all five will award 20 free spins.
It's quite a thrill when the wild symbols appear in free games and the screen grows three rows taller for as huge as a 6x5 reel set with no designated win lines.
Before we go further...
It should be mentioned that the inherent sense of humor found in these games is tasteful and effective. In this reviewer's humble opinion, there is nothing as liberating as having a laugh at ourselves.
Competition is intrinsic to the human psyche. Let's take a look at Snail Racing!
This is another fairly high volatility slot (4 on a scale of 0 to 6).
The mathematics are a little more interesting in this game with a 96.09% RTP.
The game itself is not my cup of tea, but it has great potential with 1024 ways to win on the 4x5 grid right out of the gate.
Twenty wild symbols in that setup are the golden ring to grab for a payout of 4,096x bet.
The "transform symbol" feature during free games is where the "lottery win" potential of this game comes in. You will only get a return from about one out of four spins on this hard nut to crack with a 26.15% hit frequency.
Until...
You get the free games and the snails start to race across the top of the game screen.
No matter which Snail wins, they all transform into winners before the spin pays.
Other Slot Games
Weiner Donuts
(Yes, Dachsunds mixed with pastries in theme)
This 3x3, 10 line, low volatility game has a hit rate of 43.14% and a max payout of 250x.
Oh! Party!
Another low-risk game with RTP over 95% and a max prize of 200x. The hit rate is about one out of three spins (33.01%).
The characters, Hannah and Amy are simply cute and feature in two bonus rounds - one or two reels wild, or sticky wilds in the free spins round.
Both of those games are fun in their own right.
But...
Lord of the Dead (Anubis) carries the honest splash screen art right into the game with a tremendously well-executed theme. It builds on the mechanics unveiled in earlier titles and introduces some new elements to the mix.
Anubis displays a 3x5 reelset with 10 paylines, offers medium-high volatility, 94.88% RTP, and a hit rate of 31%. This means, that on average, more or less one out of three spins will return winnings.
Land three or more scatters to trigger free rounds.
Prior to spins commencing you will have a choice between the following three feature configurations:
- 12 free games with 1 Mystery Symbol
- 7 with 2
- 5 free games with 3 Mystery Symbols
A glowing stone tablet with cuneiform writing will appear and the special symbols will emanate from there. The symbols are worth 10x during the bonus feature.
Max win is 7,000x.
The Final Analysis
AllWaySpin creates games with a good mix of maths models, themes, and engagement potentials for all types of players.
The games are all "mobile-first" but play just fine on a desktop screen or a tablet with a wide aspect ratio.
Their engagement engine (in-game promotion tool) incentivizes and rewards users throughout the lifetime of their accounts and is engineered primarily for VIP player engagement and retention.
As the brand's titles become more widespread and available, we see several potential niches of players gravitating toward them. If operators utilize the add ons, the brand could enjoy a decent level of popularity much sooner.
