Lilith’s Infernoby Yggdrasil Gaming

Lilith is the embodiment of evil in Jewish mythology, a dangerous demon of the night who steals babies. Quite dark, isn’t it?

What isn’t so dark is the game, Lilith’s Inferno, in which a girl we can only assume is the titular heroine battles through hordes of dangerous demons to get to one of two Hell bosses which when defeated leave behind some pretty massive treasures.

How’s that for mythology? Yggdrasil Gaming has taken some pretty big liberties so let’s see if it all leads to an interesting game.

Theme

It has inferno in the title and that might conjure images of lava, smoke, fiery pits and so on. And you’d be right as rain. The theme of this game is hell, demons, and lots and lots of fire.

But you wouldn’t know that from the main screen of the game which is a bit of a shame. The frame the game uses almost has a tropical tiki vibe, which is very strange and the background is just a blurry mess of a blue gradient.

However, it all comes alive when the special modes hit, which 3D rendered graphics and some proper Hellish landscape. The sound effects are very cool too and really create a suitably epic atmosphere.

The symbols…

…are the monsters that populate Hell as the high paying and some card symbols as low paying. Of interest is the scatter symbol which is a quite cool flaming monkey skull.

Betting Options and Functions

This expedition the heart of Hell takes place on a 5x4 grid with 25 fixed paylines. The price of your soul can vary between just 10 cents or a whole 150 euros for this intrepid enough to take this challenge head-on.

Aside from that, Hell is surprisingly accommodating which auto spin options, a possibility to increase animation speed if the default one is too slow for your taste and on option to use the spacebar to initiate spin rather than clicking with the mouse.

Special Features

Everybody spends some time wondering what Hell is like, but do people wonder if Hell has special features? Well, this game does give an answer to this burning question.

Yes, there are.

The main special feature in this game is boss battles but to get to them one must first collect three or more of the aforementioned flaming monkey skulls. A certain number of extra spins will be then awarded the possibility to earn more in a “hit the demon monkey” minigame.

Once the extra spins get going collecting two or more Versus symbols initiates the boss battle, which is of the pick and click kind. Just keep clicking on the enemy until the health bar is drained. Beating the boss turns the boss symbol wild in subsequent spins and awards two extra ones.

And there’s a little more extra…

…because collecting 3 of the monkey heads in the extra spin mode grants four more spins and an x3 multiplier.

Our Take

It’s a very strange take on Hell and Lilith in this game. And we can’t help but notice a certain World of Warcraft influence in the fact one of the bosses in the game is a warrior panda.

Still, there are some nice features and the battles themselves are appropriately grand and epic. You just might enjoy this strange journey into the depth of a very weird Inferno.
