Xplosive Slots
About the Company
Xplosive Slots is an online casino slot developer with hot games and a low profile. Some usually reliable sources indicate the company is a subsidiary of BlueOcean Gaming that launched in 2015. We're still unable to confirm that with any certainty. We do find GameART and BlueOcean sharing an address in Slovenia, but if we ever confirmed Xplosive Slots(XS) operating from the same address that information no longer seems to be available.
The games are certainly carried by BlueOcean, a platform and services provider with white label solutions and a unified API that they claim currently offers over 400 games. While they speak of their own creations in their online literature, they don't host a portfolio of original titles on the website, leaving inquiring minds unsatisfied.
The US-player friendly Vegas Crest Casino carries games from XS and GameART under their XS category. Games from both brands are accessed via the GameART loader. However, the Xplosive titles are either in a different directory or accessed using another Application Programming Interface (API). This relationship is not as easily seen at sites like LuckyBetz that operate on a different platform.
While we prefer certainty in reviewing any online provider, sometimes proprietary business information is simply not available. As it stands, operators know where to look for the games and players know where to find them, sometimes that's all we can do.
Software and Games
We have found about 15 titles by the developer. All have the same basic user interface and many share bonus mechanics such as free spins with sticky expanding wilds. All games are available for instant play on mobile or desktop. The is no download suite. Any browser will get you playing.
You may find the art and some other features to be more advanced with GA slots, and they have repositioned a few of the user buttons, but the games have a lot in common. The most striking similarity to catch the eye is the small 5x3 grid that sits above the spin button on games from both. After each spin, win lines and scatters appear in the miniature generic version of the reel set. Stop, wait, spin UX are the same in all games and they all use a free spins countdown meter on the right side of the screen. With so many other correlations between them all, we'd venture to say that they at least share some resources.
Now, onto the games. Games like Wild Princess and Dollar Express couldn't be more different and they couldn't feel more the same. Wild Princess is a 10-line game with low hit frequency and mid to high volatility. Dollar Express has 243 ways to win and while it is not easy to hit the bonus round, players are given five volatility options when free spins are triggered. Choose from 10 free games with all wins multiplied by a random factor of 10x, 15x, or 30x or 13, 15, or 20 games with each having a slightly decreasing multiplier range - or play low risk by choosing 25 free games with multipliers of 2x, 3x, or 5x. There really are no bad choices and free games can retrigger indefinitely.
Wild Princess features a well endowed young lady in the jungle. When she expands to cover a real a creepy but alluring whisper is repeated each time. As far as I can tell it says, "The alien is in", but your guess is as good as mine. She appears on reels 3, 4, and 5 and stays in place until the current set of free games is completed. The feature can be retriggered. The game can pay out like gangbusters on a lucky feature.
While all XS games have similarities the paytables, bonus features and math models are quite different from game to game. The only way to really arrive at a few favorites would be to play them all, accept the themes and feel of a few and then go with how you like to play as far risk factors goes. One great thing about Dollar Express is you have a choice when you get to the bonus round. Try Aztecos Slot for different features or Farmer Bob for a fun time.
The Final Analysis
It's this reviewer's personal opinion that GameART and Xplosive Slots are either subsidiaries of BlueOcean Gaming or are operating under some sort of shared resources agreement. The games are simply too similar and the location of the BlueOcean and GameART, along with the lack of information about XS seem to lead to that conclusion. The important thing is that the games can be red hot and will become the go-to portfolio for some players. I know where I check first at the sites I play at. Even with thousands of other titles to choose from, you'll find me playing XS.
