RCT Gaming
If you have never heard of RCT Gaming it’s safe to say you’re neither from North nor South America. This happens to be one of the older companies operating in these areas, established as early as 1994. Of course, they didn’t move from their original location until 2002, when the company expanded into Columbia.
This was followed by further expansion, as the company established itself in the land-based markets all the way into the USA by 2013. Today the offices can be found in Brazil, Peru, Mexico, and the USA. Slots and video bingo products are the two main areas of interest, with plenty of products to show in both categories.
A handful of other games also exist, but these are mere curiosities. Though the company is online, it doesn’t seem like much, if any, of its games have made the transition. However, in recent times the company seems to have partnered with Caleta Gaming for a more visible position in online casinos.
Online Presence
Rather than transforming their gaming products into online space, RCT Gaming seems to have opted to simply establish their own online casino called Betmotion in 2010. However, upon further digging you’ll find out that there are RCT games available, they just happen to be launched via Caleta Gaming. In this area too the partnerships only started in 2023.
It’s easy to see why RCT Gaming has entered this partnership, as Caleta Gaming originates from the same country and is clearly much better oriented for online casino audiences. The games that have been published through this route seem to share similarities with the land-based selection. Currently, at least the following casino games are available:
- Red Sheriff
- Talismanes
- New Fruit
- Reis do Egito
- Rio de Janeiro
- Halloween
- Samba
Truthfully, most of these games are very regional, and they also happen to be ported from their land-based games. Whilst the games might at first look somewhat old, we do suggest taking a deeper look. As soon as you get to the actual reels the graphical quality is actually pretty good.
Looking at the details…
…some characteristics start to pop out. All the games are set on a grid of five reels, with three symbols each. Likewise, they all have the same twenty paylines running from left to right. The games are all mobile-compatible, and offer a modern interface that even supports touchscreens.
However, once you start looking at the paytables and features, it becomes obvious that there is basically no difference between individual slots besides the graphics and effects used. Saying that this is a bit of a disappointment would be an understatement, as it means that all of these slots run exactly the same.
Each of the games comes with three features: a jackpot, and two pick-a-win bonus games. Whilst the graphics, texts, and themes are different for each, the gameplay seems to be exactly the same for all of the titles.
Other games from RCT Gaming, such as their video bingo games, seem not to have been converted into online games as of yet.
Land-Based Gaming
What applies to the online slots mentioned above also applies to their land-based slots, with the exception that the number of games is greater. When playing in casinos, or wherever these games are offered, the jackpot becomes a local progressive jackpot.
Currently, the company also offers two additional titles that don’t fall under video bingo or slots:
- Golden Pick
- Gold Poker
The first one is a simple lottery game, where you guess what numbers are going to be drawn, and the second one is a video poker game. These aren’t anything extraordinary, and as said only available in select land-based casinos.
The video bingo section is interesting. The reason why they haven’t made the conversion to online might be because their partner Caleta Gaming has their own selection of similar games. Here are some of the titles available:
- Park Bingo
- Steel Bingo
- Hot Bingo
- Super Bola
- Flex Game
The variety of these games is much bigger than it is with the slots. There are several different game types linked to how many numbers are on the cards, how many balls are drawn, and how many balls are available to be drawn. There are also many different prizes, based on the patterns that you create on the cards. The only thing in common seems to be the number of cards, which is always set at four. Not only do the games come with all these functions, but there are usually also from two to three different bonus games.
It’s a shame the video bingo games haven’t made it to online casinos, as they are something different from what we have experienced from most casino game producers. They could easily compete for space and visibility across the whole world.
Conclusion
At the end of the day, RCT ends up being a bit of a flop. Sure enough, their terminals and slots are available throughout Latin American casinos, especially in Brazil, with a growing presence in North America too. They produce all sorts of cabinets, and even their own hardware for these machines. Perhaps that is where their actual expertise lies.
When it comes to online presence we have but a handful of slots, which all play out the same. The only difference comes in the form of themes and graphics, which aren’t good enough to stand out on their own. On top of this, the availability of the games is somewhat non-existent. At the moment, it seems that the company is much more interested in running their own online casino, than they are producing games for online audiences.
