Gold Strike is a video slot manufactured by Microgaming. The theme of the game is based on the historical Gold Rush of California in the late 1800s. This game is admittedly underwhelming in its visual and aesthetic appeal, but what it lacks in appearance it makes up for in features and game mechanics. The games interface is designed to resemble a cartoonish sort of Grand Canyon scene with matching game symbols and a cartoon Gold Miner and his mule in the games title at the top.

Gold Strike is played on 20 fixed pay lines with 5 reels across 3 rows. The game features an Auto Play button and a Gamble feature. The games bet per line can be set from between 0.01 credits per line to 5.00 credits per line or a total bet of 0.20 credits to 100.00 credits on all pay lines. The game lacks a Jackpot but does feature both Scatter and Wilds and awards bonus features.

Gold Strike features a Wild Symbol shows a Sheriffs Star or Badge. The Scatter or Bonus Symbol shows a Stick of Dynamite. Wilds can substitute any symbol except for the Bonus/Scatter Symbol and pays the highest winning symbol on its pay line. The Bonus Symbol will award a multiplier when 3 or more appear and a Bonus round called “Tin-can Alley” when 6 or more appear.

In the Tin-can Alley Bonus round you shoot cans to win the revealed prizes. If a “Lucky Strike” symbol appears, you proceed to the next bonus level where you randomly select positions on a map to reveal prizes. An ‘X’ symbol will end the round, but if you find another “Lucky Strike” symbol you will proceed to another level called the “Gold Mind”. In this bonus round you will detonate one of three abandoned mines to reveal the final prize at the conclusion of the bonus round.
