About the Company
Lost World Games is a developer and supplier of gaming content in regulated markets. The Ashton-Under-Lyne, Lancashire, UK company was founded by Robert Smith in early 2015 and has produced a small handful of premium real money gambling games to date. The company realized early on that developing HTML5 games was the only way to go forward and their prediction was correct. As the markup language can be read by man and machine and will incorporate virtually limitless innovations as they develop, it is infinitely scalable, future-proof, and adaptable.
Smith worked closely with the pioneering ODOBO company in various capacities including legal and compliance beginning in 2012 before founding Lost World Games (LWG). He presently has a gaming consultancy business based in Manchester and consults for Casumo Casino.
While we don't find a Gaming Commission license for the company per se, Smith is a qualified solicitor and Gambling Commission Personal Management Licensee. The firm's first title was developed in association with UKGC-licensed Old Skool Game Studios Inc., a Vancouver, Canada company that has worked with several top names in casino game development. King of Kaiju: Rampage Riches was launched over the Gala Coral network in 2015 and then picked up by Bet365, Prospect Hall, Mr Green, and Betmotion soon thereafter.
LWG strives to produce games that are truly different and will only build the sort of games they would like to play themselves. Custom design and development services are available on a limited basis to operators who want exclusive gaming content or branding on games already under development.
Software and Games
All games are built and deployed in HTML5 so that they can be played on any device with a browser that is connected to the internet or a cellular data network. HTML5 loads fast and the files are lean, calling only the elements needed in any data transfer. The games play as well on a big screen desktop display as they do on a handheld smartphone or tablet, with no regard to the device's operating system. They can be provided in several different languages including Bulgarian, English, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Romanian, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, and Swedish.
King of Kaiju: Rampage Riches is a 5-reel 20-payline video slot in the style of an illustrated sci-fi comic book. Think Godzilla, Pacific Rim, and Cloverfield for theme and artwork. Rampage Riches also takes its cue from video games with an HD movie intro and more than 40 in-game achievements. The narrative is well-developed and the mechanics are designed to elicit excitement, anticipation, and reward in sync with the theme. The wild symbols are radioactive and can explode and transform and may mutate other symbols into wilds. The free spins bonus can re-trigger and guarantees wilds on every spin. The multi-stage picking bonus allows players to choose a Kaiju to destroy landmarks in London, New York, Rome, and, of course, Tokyo!
Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde is a 5-reel, 25 pay line game with a theme and backdrop that transform the good doctor's laboratory into a chaotic steampunk environment struggling for balance and order. The game can be played in landscape or portrait views.
Beer Goggles offers 40 lines and is set in British country pub with stacked wilds, free spins with multipliers and re-triggers, as well as a wild reel that can be purchased before the spin. The maths model of this game, which we haven't played, is said to be highly volatile.
The Final Analysis
While still a small studio, Lost World Games has had some success due largely to the uniqueness and innovative hybridization of their first title, as well as what seems to be a passion for perfection. Looking at all of the games that have come under their work, it's easy to imagine much more success for the company.
