About the Company
FUGA Gaming Technologies is a London headquartered developer for land-based, online, and mobile casino games. The first British iteration of the Limited company was founded in 2014 but later dissolved. We first see their HTML5 games in an announcement that they were bringing development partner, Uma Entertainment's games online and to mobile users with a launch on the now-defunct Odobo.
The company seems to work closely with the St. Petersburg based Uma Entertainment as some of their announced partnerships and launches also seem to be claimed by Uma. It could be that many of the deals were done as the exclusive distributor for their games. It may also be that the actual physical plant for manufacturing their land-based games is also located in Russia as their given London address does not appear to be a production facility. Indeed all of their games could be developed and produced outside of London, yet they are all developed "in-house".
We find online games released by the company appearing at Comeon and Cherry AB's B2C and white labels in early 2017 as well as Mr Green and LeoVegas. These launches occurred after distribution deals with GAMEIOM, Relax Gaming, and the Connective Games software platforms. The ComeOn launch seems related to Relax. We find the games at about 20 online casinos but they could have much deeper penetration we haven't yet discovered.
The company seems to be made up of industry veterans and they claim over 20 years experience in the gaming industry. We find them operating in the Italian land casino markets as early as 2011 and perhaps earlier. One of their releases, the Bat Family slot, was first deployed in the Italian market in 2011 before its online release in the summer of 2015. They also made great inroads there with the new Comma6A class of games (AWP, NewSlots) that replaced or will replace nearly half a million machines, mostly in bars and pubs in Italy. The games are regulated by the ADM Decree dated May 29, 2013 (Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli).
Further land-based areas include specific concepts to suit any regulatory requirements or language, Class III games, adaptation, and creation of games to suit clients' hardware requirements, jackpot systems, multiple games screens, as well as server-based, stand-alone, or VLT installations and multigame configurations.
Online Games and Software
One of the company's talents that differentiates them from many developers is that they are able to quickly and flawlessly convert landbased games to online delivery via HTML5. The process may be an extension of their standardized approach to the development process.
All games are created or recreated in HTML5 for online and mobile so they will play on any device. The user interface is well laid out for all games tested. We found an autoplay pop-up that can be set to stop spins when a certain number of games have played (10-100) by loss limit, or when a single game wins a certain amount (up to 500x total stake). There is also a settings menu that allows players to show the splash screen or not the next time they visit the game and to toggle Space Bar spinning on or off.
The paytables and rules are well laid out but occasionally may assume the player knows more than they might. One instance is a respin rule that simply states that scatters "start the series of respins" but there is no quantification. We found one respin even though a 4th scatter appeared on the spin with no explanation as to why only one was awarded. We won't assume that 4 or 5 scatter create more, and we can't assume that a random number of spins is awarded, as the paytable does not describe the rules in enough detail.
We find the game 3 Elements appearing at ComeOn Casino delivered via Relax Gaming. No instant replays are available in the mini lobby while playing in fun mode.
The game is set in Egypt in the early to mid 20th century and the highest paying symbol is an attractive women explorer named Glory. 3 Elements is a 5 reel, 40 line game that can be played with 20 or 30 lines instead. Using various line counts will change certain awards during the respin Skull bonus. More lines create greater multipliers and more stacked wilds.
During the base game the Eye of Horus can appear anywhere on the reels, but when it lands on the central reel it can swap positions with symbols next to it when that will increase the total payout. The feature can build a lot of anticipation, for instance, when it could become swap with either a low or high paying symbol.
There is a bonus picking game triggered by 3 Amulets. A series of treasure chests will appear. Picking will continue until 2 matches are made. The least that can be won is 10x total stake and the most is 150x bet.
We also find Polar Picnic, Fruit-o-Matic, and WitchCraft at Comeon! and other Cherry partners, as well as at Mr Green. Ocean's Secrets and several other games are available at Betsson. Mr.Illusio was launched at LeoVegas exclusively.
The Final Analysis
The games look great, play really well, and have a good variety of math models and unique mechanics. We liked the "speed spin" feature and didn't really mind that it didn't function after 2 bonus elements were on the screen as it built anticipation for the triggers. The company has over 70 land-based games and their online and mobile portfolio is constantly growing.
