Although the “3rd card” rules of baccarat can take some getting used to, players don't need to worry about them when playing ViG baccarat online. The software will deliver the additional card if needed to meet the rules of the game. Novice players can see the rules chart under the Game Menus tab in the lower left if curious about how this game of international intrigue is dealt. For players the decision process is completed after determining an amount to bet and placing chips on either Player or Banker and/or the Tie bet. The cards will be dealt and the hand with a value, via modulo 10, closest to 9 will win. In case of a tie bets are pushed but a bet on Tie pays 8:1.
Player bets pay even money and Banker bets pay 19:20, or 1:1 minus a 5% commission as the 3rd card rules favor the Banker bet. This bet is still the best by less than a percentage point of RTP after paying the commission. As for smart gaming the only suggested strategy is to only ever bet on Banker. But gamblers will be gamblers and taking the risks can pay off at times. The return to player percentage on Player bet is 98,76%. For Banker bet it raises slightly to 98,94% (after commission). Although the Tie bet can get you out of a scrape, continuous play will result in an RTP of 85,56% and should obviously be avoided.
