In yet another take on classical Greek myths, developer Spinomenal has decided to tell the Story of Medusa.

Depending on the version of the myth Medusa was either a fearsome member of the Gorgon sisters, themselves product of an unholy union between ancient monsters Phorcys and Ceto, or a beautiful maiden transformed into a monster by Athena as punishment for a dalliance with the god Poseidon.

No matter which version is true, the developer has cooked up an interesting take on the story with some intricate and fun features.

Theme

There have been slots with this theme before, such as PG Soft’s Medusa but where that game dealt with the origin story, Spinomenal has decided to start their story at the end of the myth.

It’s the story of how Medusa was finally beheaded by the hero Perseus using a mirrored shield granted to him by Athena (she really had a thing for Medusa, didn’t she?).

…Medusa herself, the hero Perseus, a hapless victim turned to stone, and a bust of Athena.
