Sarah is a punk, according to the title. But forget the punks of the 70s with their spiky hair, leather jackets, and a love of loud and cacophonic rock music.

These punks are all about steam, engines, goggles, monocles, and other Victorian-era accoutrements.

That’s because this is yet another steampunk-themed slot game, a genre which has seen a lot of popularity recently in all sorts of media like TV, movies, videogames, and of course real money gambling.

Theme

So, that’s the theme. Steampunk. Steampunk is genre of fiction set in worlds (usually but not always Victorian UK) where electricity never really rose to prominence because steam engine technology just kept getting better and better.

In stark contrast to what happened in the actual world we live in, steam engines rule these fictional stories and provide light, fuel, and everything else.

It’s like that in this game too, with the symbols being zeppelins (it’s not really cyberpunk without these huge flying gas-filled balloons), diving suits, and a steam-powered movie camera.

The highest paying symbol is the titular Sara herself appearing with a set of goggles on hear head and a monocle on her eye.

Developer Playstar has really managed to set the proper atmosphere and tone with their design which all steampunk fans will have to agree is totally on point.

Betting Options and Functions

When it comes to this, the game is very standard. Everything takes place on a 5x3 grid with 20 fixed paylines.

There is a wide range of possible bets because punters can choose both the coin size and the bet level independently of each other.

That leaves a number of possible total bet sizes, from the minuscule 25 cents and then all the way up to 600 euro on the highest setting which is sure to be a treat for any high rollers that try this game out.

Special Features

It’s all about the extra spins round in this offering. To get into the mode, punters need to have 3 bonus symbols land on the reels at the same time.

As we mentioned earlier, steampunk is becoming quite a hot commodity when it comes to game themes. Even big players like Microgaming are getting in on the action with releases like Steampunk Heroes.

So, does this effort by Playstar stack up? Definitely. It has nice graphics and cool game mechanics reflected in the multi-stage extra spins round.

Even if you’re not a fan of this genre, this game is a well-executed example of it that might just turn you into one.
