Mission Cashby Play'n Go

Spies are always fun and spy-themed media is always exciting and interesting. Yet it somehow gets even better when it’s set in the 60s. Maybe it’s all the free love.

Here’s another example of this genre, Mission Cash, which is a 5x3 slot game which clearly takes inspiration from the classics. Mission Impossible, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Saint, The Avengers (that’s classic British TV, not contemporary blockbuster series) and so many more have defined 60s TV and left a whole generation with a taste for all things spy-related.

Play’n Go decided to dip into this well and bring us something that feels very familiar but also very fresh.

Theme

The first thing you will see when you fire up the game is a swishy logo animation that maybe borrows a bit too much from Mission Impossible. Still, it’s very sleek and adds a layer of high production values to the proceedings.

After that’s done…

…the game begins in a retro-futuristic control room like we’ve seen in pretty much every spy movie ever. But it grounds the game in familiar motifs and it’s a cool reference.

That’s when you will meet the four spies that make up the team for this mission. Agent Red, Blue, Green, and Purple. These are of course codenames (or maybe not, that would be a real twist) for highly trained assassins. Or agents. Or world-class thieves? The title doesn’t really specify what our protagonists are doing.

Suffice to say, they are on a mission. A mission for cash.

They also make high paying symbols and wilds. The rest is card symbols which fit very well into the vibe and so does the groovy music.

Betting Options and Functions

This 5x3 high-octane rollercoaster slot costs as little as 20 cents per spin or as high as 100 if you want to live right on the edge just like spies do.

The game comes with theoretical RTP of 96% and sky-high volatility with a tantalizing maximum payout of half a million euros.

Special Features

No high-stakes mission would be complete without some thrilling features and luckily there are spades of them in here.

Every time the reels spin a crosshair appears called the Wandering Crosshair. Depending on where it lands different bonuses will trigger and delight punters. If it lands on Agent Blue or Agent Red they will expand to become stacked sticky wilds and trigger a respin feature called Take the Shot.

If the crosshair lands on one of them again the feature will retrigger, if not the feature will end.

Of course, no game would be complete without…

…extra spins! And this game has its own twist on this mechanic. They activate when the crosshair lands on the scatter sign. During the mode, all the agents can become sticky stacked wilds if the crosshair lands on them, and if it lands on a scatter again more spins are awarded.

Our Take

The 60s are just a very cool time period and this game proves it. Yes, there have been spy games before but this is a top-shelf production by Play’n Go with great graphics and sound and a very well developed atmosphere.

Top it off with great features, and you’ve got one amazing game.
