About the Company

Opus Gaming is an Asian live casino game provider established in 2009. The Makati City (Metro Manila, PH) company displays the PAGCOR emblem and chevrons for TST (GLI) and iTech Labs.

In addition to live casino products, which would include a handful of slots, they also provide sports betting solutions.

The software is found at over 50 online betting sites worldwide, mostly Asian-facing. A complete list of rated and ranked sites we have reviewed appears below. Dafabet, Paiza, and Happy 8 may be the most widely recognized operators in the west, with plenty of other sites familiar to players in Asia filling out the list.

Players in the Philippines are not allowed to gamble at locally served sites licensed for offshore traffic, but the provider is well-known in Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Japan with English, Chinese, Japanese, and Thai being the supported languages of the site.

We don't find them on the First Cagayan licensee roster, but that is very common for the Philippines' concerns in the gambling business as they almost always list under their parent company or corporate name. They are also not listed on PAGCOR POGO or as a physical component provider (GLDD) under the Opus name.

The length of service to the industry (est. 2009) as well as the wide distribution of games (over 50 sites) assures players the software and dealer functions are fair. However, we prefer to see clickable links to licenses and certifications - but good luck finding that with Asian suppliers.

In recent years we've seen the company ink deals with several aggregators and platform providers. This and future partnerships should see the Opus studios become available to more players in the west. Indeed, we are seeing a greater proliferation of their content across Europe.

We also see aggregators such as Pragmatic Play bundling their selection of games with Opus, which provides existing customers the option to include more games from European developers.

Software and Games

The sportsbook and casino components are separate but can be included together on any business customer's site, regulations notwithstanding.

All gambling access is accomplished in a web browser so it doesn't matter what sort of device you access the host casino or sportsbook on. Apple, Android, Mac, and Windows devices all work simply by using your native browser with no plugins, downloads, or permissions required.

Opus sports

The sportsbook or live casino is simply "bolted on" to the back end of the website you visit and features the same SSL encrypted security as the main site, and the same as your online banking provider uses.

The sportsbook offers a wide range of betting markets with over 30,000 pre-matches and more than 10,000 live matches on the book every month.

Betting action is available around the clock and throughout the calendar year. The display is designed to be familiar to Asian bettors. Punters have access to real-time stats and full details on live scores. The odds are competitive, which attracts good betting volumes.

Opus Video Slots

While we don't find slots as a current offer, at one point in time the company posted several titles from other providers on their Youtube channel. That outlet has not been updated since 2015 and their social media, at least Facebook hasn't been updated since 2016. That's okay, they seem to be focused on what they do best now, which is live dealer games.

Live Casino

The live dealer suite offers a variety of Asian games with a simple and easy-to-use modern interface. One thing many players like most about Opus is the speed with which game rounds are completed. The company claims to offer the "fastest gameplay per round on the market".

You can see the physical studio in the following video. It's a 360 video tour so feel free to move around to see the space from several angles.

The other studio, the digital end of it all, is married to the physical table view for each game in the user interface. Both parts shake hands in perfect harmony to deliver the best possible experience to players.

The Games

Opus Gaming offers a variety of traditional and Asian-favorite casino floor games. Look for baccarat. dragon tiger, Sic Bo, and roulette among other games. Players can choose more than one table or play more than one type of game to play using the Multi-table facility.

When you enter the Opus live lobby you'll see a variety of games offered by your chosen online gaming site. Not all operators carry all games.

The most basic lobby should at least include

  • Baccarat
  • Sic Bo & Roulette
  • Other Games
  • Multi-Table

All of the major user interface elements remain the same for all games. The "wrench" icon in the upper right corner of the lobby contains the main menu items. These include audio controls, the ability to generate reports, look up game histories, and to summon live help. Depending on the integration, there may also be a cashier button for deposits directly into your live gaming account.

While viewing the main studio floor, before choosing a particular table or game, you will be able to choose a static video stream (for very slow connections) or one of the three camera views. This tool is also in the upper right and appears inside individual game screens as well.

Each game loads in a new window (unless you are playing multiple tables). The large display is mostly consumed with a view of the table and the dealer. All user interface buttons are well-placed and out of the way.

The (digitally generated) betting pool and betting area are displayed on the bottom of the game screen with all options clearly defined.

Road maps are also displayed along the very bottom of the screen when relevant to the game. Click the result to see a video replay of that historic hand.

Live Baccarat

Since the studios face the Asian markets, and because baccarat is the favorite of high rollers and other casino players in the region, we'll start with baccarat.

However, you will certainly find baccarat - and most likely, several variants as well. The first option will be your bet limits and whether you wish to play the normal game or a no-commission version. Other games will present different options, but you can always choose the table limits prior to entering the game and choosing your seat.

Side bets are available in the no-commission version including Big, Small, and Pairs.

If you have never played baccarat online it may be good to mention that the basic game is as easy to play as betting on the flip of a coin - if that coin might land on its edge and result in a tie about one out of ten flips on average.

Bet on the Player's hand or Banker's hand, or give up some RTP to get the higher payout for betting on a tie. That's about all there is to it. You won't be asked to deal, carry the pot, or count the cards. The dealer will follow the posted rules and deal any third cards required to complete the hand.

While not always well labeled or defined prior to entering the game, you may also find 7 Up Baccarat. Dragon Tiger is found in the "other games" category.

Live Roulette

Look for a single zero version of the game here as with most live roulette streams. The American version of two zeroes has no benefit to players except the ability to place one very high volatility bet with the worst possible odds.

The so-called "basket bet" (7.89% house edge) might pay 6:1 but it's simply not available on single-zero European roulette tables.

As with the other games, players have control of their video view angle, sound, and betting limits. High or low video quality is also an option for slower connections or metered data.

Statistics and history are provided and players can save several favorite bets or betting patterns under any name they want to display for them. Special French roulette bets are available with a single click.

Clicking the dice icon near the upper right-hand corner brings up a digital mini Sic Bo game so you can bet on more than one game at a time. The betting options are limited compared to the live version but big, small, odd, even, and any triple (not specific triple) bet are accepted between 1.00 and 6,000.00 per round.

Live Sic Bo

If you like the ability to control the volatility of a game, such as a variety of roulette bets give you - you may want to try Sic Bo. With about 50 different bets ranging from odd/even and big/small to predicting a specific triplet of three dice for 150:1 payouts, this game has something for players who enjoy any level of risk and reward.

Multi-Table

When we visited, baccarat was the only game listed under this category. However, that game did not launch.

The Final Analysis

Opus Gaming has been in the business since the pioneer days of online live dealer games. The studio is rather small but the types of games offered allow them to scale the betting pool almost infinitely.

In mid to late 2020 the games were still delivered in a Flash window rather than over the HTML5 framework. It's unclear what the company plans to do after Google Chrome and other major web browser providers stop supporting the plugin in late 2020. Another way to play Flash games or some sort of bulky conversion may come into play. As of today, the games seem to be on their way to being outdated.
