company_overviewOnGame was a poker network active during the early years of the poker boom, and for a long time running on the Bwin platform. The company’s origin seems to date back to 1999, functioning as a website. Later on, around 2004, this developed into a platform of its own.

The company withdrew from US markets around 2006, like many of the other poker networks. They were then bought out by Betandwin, which is today known as Bwin. In 2011 a merger led to the players being moved to Partypoker, which greatly diminished the value of the network.

In 2012 the platform was sold to Amaya Gaming, which once upon a time was known as the Stars Group, or as PokerStars. What little assets and players remained was sold on to Nyx Gaming Group, and in 2016 the whole network was finally shut down for good. Which is no surprise as the heydays of thousands if not tens of thousands of players had dwindled down to perhaps a few dozen active players.

What the Company Offered

The client operated directly from the web browser, which was quite an attractive benefit at a time when almost all other poker clients functioned via a separate app. Of course, as years passed other companies caught up, and at the same time provided highly popular mobile apps.

The platform provided both tournaments and cash games. Texas Hold'em, Omaha Hi/lo, and other similar familiar poker games such as 7-Card Stud were offered. It wasn’t the most numerous selection of poker games, but combined with available tables it made for a good place to enjoy popular poker games.

The company also offered satellite events, which means that you could play at paid online poker tables and win tickets for live events. These were usually concentrated in Europe, though some offered events worldwide.

Interpretation

The company is without a doubt gone. The last bit of news was NYX offloading the remaining assets somewhere, but no one quite knows where, or what was sold. Or what was really even left at the time the company was bought.

During the early 2000s the company was quite successful, but like many others, the US markets banning online poker ultimately led to their demise. No lasting legacy seems to have been left, save for a handful of players who moved onto other poker networks.

There’s not much to know at this point, and it is better to move onto other pocket sites, or perhaps try out online casinos for a change.
