Immersive and mind blowing are just 2 of the words that come to mind when I first laid my eyes on Psycho the slot from NYX Interactive.
Based on one of the most iconic movies of all time – “Psycho” by Alfred Hitchcock, this slot transforms Hitchcock’s twisted idea of suspense and turns it into one of the most entertaining video slots you will see in a long time.
It’s hard to reproduce something as unique and creative as this movie. The few attempts to re-create the movie over the last decade are a reminder of just how daunting a task it is. But, while the attempts to bring back to life one of the scariest movies ever to the big screen have failed, Psycho the slot delivers on all fronts.
Everything from the eerie music, to the Bates Motel are done beautifully. You will even get see the famous shower scene during certain bonus rounds of the slot.
Psycho isn’t just about cut scenes and graphics though. To really do the Hitchcock name justice, the slot is packed with free spins, wilds and multipliers.
Let’s find out all we need to know about Psycho the slot, so you can start playing right away.
Psycho the Slot Rules
Psycho is a 5-reel slot with 3 rows of symbols. There are 25 fixed pay lines that must all be played during a spin. You can set the amount of money to play each spin though. The minimum bet is a penny per line. With the maximum being $2.00. This puts the minimum bet at $0.25; and the maximum at $50. You can see that this slot appeals to a wide range of bankrolls.
The controls are little clunky to be honest. Unlike most slots that have controls laid out at the bottom of the reels, Psycho has you hit a tab to access the line bet and auto play features. This is perhaps the only downfall to Psycho. Not a big deal, but still something worth noting.
Psycho Symbols
The symbols are obviously themed around the movie and its iconic figures. Aside from the standard 10 through Ace symbols, you will find a nice array of symbols that you will be familiar with if you’ve seen the movies.
There’s the key to room 1 where most of the movie takes place. And also the 2 main characters of the film. I was happy to see that they used the classic, original characters and symbols instead of the newer remakes. They look nice and add the perfect touch.
Even the symbol backdrop on the reels is the curtain where one of Hollywood’s most famous scenes took place. Just another unique touch that shows the designers put effort into creating this game.
The highest paying regular symbol is the female character that pays 1,000x your line bet with 5 or more symbols.
The wild symbol is a black and red symbol that simply says Wild. No mistaking this one. This symbol substitutes all other symbols except the scatter. It also pays out 1,250x your line bet if you get 5 wilds. And to add even more value to this symbol, it can randomly multiply your win by 2, 3, 4, 5, 10 or even 20 during normal spins. I say normal spins, because it can do even more during free spins. More on that in just a second.
Psycho Free Spins – Multiply Wins Up to 40
The free spins are triggered when you get 3 or more of the scatter symbol. This symbol is the house that says scatter on it. Another symbol that cannot be mistaken.
You can win 10, 15, or 20 free spins, depending on how many scatter symbols trigger this round. During free spins, the wild symbols will flood the reels and can multiply a win up to 40x your line bet that triggered the free spins.
Free spins can also be re triggered.
Psycho Slot
As an avid slot player, I’ve seen slots come and go. Psycho is by far one of the better looking slots I’ve come across during tenure spinning the big reels. If looks and design are important to you in choosing a slot, then Psycho should be a top choice. The cut scenes are amazing and somewhat scary.
But, we all know a good slot is made up of more than just fancy graphics and a big name. Psycho finishes it off right by adding plenty of features that will have you wanting more.
