Matador Magic
Company Overview
Truth be told, there isn’t much at all that can be found about this company. For sure, Matador Magic is no longer an active company. And by the looks of it, hasn’t been one for quite a while now.
The company seems to have been active sometime around 2012, operating in the Swedish and UK markets. Their main product was a collection of bingo games. These were multiplayer bingo games with their own rooms, rather than video bingo games.
Other services included white-label solutions. However, it doesn’t seem like this ever proved too useful or popular. Only a handful of casino sites operated under this platform, and not one of them is still active. No information has been left behind about any of these.
Software and Games
The main product seems to have been a suite of bingo rooms. Not all that surprising, their main market area was the UK, which still remains one of the biggest bingo markets in the world. 90-ball bingo and 75-ball bingo. Different rooms came with different themes, prize pools, jackpots, and player groups. The few glimpses still left of these rooms shows that they were neither ahead nor behind the times, offering pretty much what most bingo networks offered. Though clearly, mobile gaming was not part of that experience.
In addition to bingo, the company seems to have produced a selection of traditional casino games. These included three and five-reel slots, and something called World Record Reels. The latter were a selection of games that reached up to seven or nine individual reels. Something of a curiosity for its time, although nothing is left remaining of these slots either. Occasional titles of video poker, keno, and table games were also found mixed into the catalogue.
Interpretation
It doesn’t seem like the company ever partnered with any of the other game producers. And it didn’t seem to be able to decide whether they were a white-label provider or a game producer. The problem this created was that their own selection of games wasn’t nearly enough to fill online casinos at a time when other companies started diversifying, to the point that now most casinos have most online casino games in them.
On top of that, their gaming products also suffered from a lack of access to mobile devices. Again, at a time when mobile gaming was more and more important. These facts alone were pretty much alone to kill the company.
Their competitors simply did everything better in the long run. And the final nail in the coffin was the bingo products themselves. Whilst quite numerous ten years ago, the competition was extremely fierce, and today only a handful of bingo networks like Playtech and Jumpman Gaming remain.
As for this company, nothing remains.
