LVFH
LVFH or Las Vegas From Home Entertainment was originally a Canadian company that operated in the field of casino gaming, offering slots, poker and other similar games. They also used to run a subsidiary called Actop Poker Gaming, and both companies seem to have operated with a Curacao licence. Their main market area, as the name implies, was the USA.
Online poker seems to have been the trump card of the company, which also probably explains why the company is no longer operating. The Black Friday of 2011 pretty much ensured that much of the industry disappeared. In this case, the company posted its last updates around 2012, after which they seem to have merged with US Digital Gaming, and subsequently disappeared from the world stage.
We have gathered here a bit of information that we could find on the company, their products, and how they used to operate.
Software and Games
Whilst the company used to have a collection of casino games available, not much remains of these in the way of information. Most of the information available has to do with the various poker games they offered.
And this poker network seems to have been the centre of attention. Texas Hold’em and Omaha were the two most popular games, but other variations also existed. The software system itself was built to support hundreds of thousands of simultaneous players, though these numbers never seem to have materialised.
Some Asian table games were also made available under this platform. Namely games like Mahjong, Fight the Landlord, and 13 Card, but also the usual cadre of roulette, baccarat, and blackjack. The games were available in a handful of different languages, such as English and Chinese. They also offered the usual sit&go tables, together with tournaments. For a while the company also operated no-rake tables for members.
How the setting looked and how it felt to play at LVFH poker tables is hard to say, as the company operated in the very early days, and never really managed to gain mainstream success. The products were also available via social media sites.
Interpretation
LVFH seems to have originally targeted US Casino markets, then moved to Asian markets, and even operated in the Mexican market briefly. Curacao licence was used for all of these, and the games and software was further certified by iTech Labs.
At the end of the day, Las Vegas From Home falls into the category of online casino gaming companies that tried their best, but still disappeared without a trace. Some companies get bought out, others simply fizzle out into bankruptcy. The company seems to actually have been quite long lived, with some sources indicating it started operating as early as 1999. They simply couldn’t make it through the fall of the poker boom.
