Company Overview

Join Games was founded in 2014 as a brainchild of a handful of iGaming veterans. From the very beginning, the company sought to break the status quo in casino gaming. Their online slots aimed to do something other than produce your standard gaming experience.

One of the most notable examples of this was their concentration on VR products. Whilst trying something new is always commendable, it perhaps also explains why the company no longer exists. VR casino gaming, after all, never actually became a popular thing.

However, their main area of interest was always in online slots. Let’s take a look at what those games looked like, and if they’re still available.

Online Slots

An aim to produce unique slots is always a commendable one, but also a very difficult one to pull off. Make note that the last game released by Join Games came out in 2018, so the company is definitely not an active producer anymore. Still, for their time they did try something a bit different.

Some of the most notable slots from Join Games:

• Kleopatra

One of the first games to come out, and as usual using the iconic theme. There was also a VR version of this game, although the basic gameplay was still very much dependent on simple paylines and bonus features.

• Aztec Temple

Another slot that took inspiration from a rather popular theme. Whilst visually impressive, the game didn’t bring all that many new features with it. Simple bonus spins and bonus picks.

• Monsters House

One of the first games, and with relatively large wins for its time. The artistic style was certainly peculiar enough to gain attention. And the bonus spins numerous enough to keep it.

• Apocalypse Knights

Definitely a bit of a spooky theme, once again done with a style that was exceptional for its time. Gameplay didn’t offer any big innovations, though it did come with some pretty big wins.

• Caesar’s Glory

A historical setup, and perhaps not with such an aim to shock with graphics as with the other slots. Quite conservative in gameplay features too.

• Ice 7 Bar

A basic slot with the twist that the fruits are frozen. But that’s just for the graphics, as otherwise, the game is all about the paylines and the paytable.

Interpretation

At the end of the day, these online slots were quite basic even for their time. The biggest thing they had going for them was the rather unique set of graphics and animations. The gameplay was no different from the majority of other slots of the time. On top of this, quite a few of the games seemed to be carbon copies of each other.

It’s not a big surprise that Join Games eventually disappeared, as they didn’t manage to make enough of a difference to their competitors. The games are no longer available. Officially the company was acquired by investors in 2019, but no further news has emerged about this transition or the company since.
