Treasure of Horus takes you back to ancient Egypt for a chance to explore tombs of the gods full of infinite riches and winning opportunities. Enter the domains of Anubis, Weret, and Horus with free spins, scatters, and scarabs that reveal multiplying wilds. The game has a mesmerizing Egyptian music soundtrack and potent visuals. Wild symbols don't simply land when the reel strip falls into place, Scarabs fly up the reel from bottom to top, and if you are fortunate one or more will land and replace a symbol with a substitute.
The 5x3 reel set is bordered on each side by ornate Egyptian column shafts decorated with Egyptian Falcons, the Eye of Ra, and more. All of the symbols gleam with points of light in this colorful and intriguing game.
The game has 20 fixed pay lines with bets ranging from 0.01 to 2.00 per line for a max bet of 40.00 per spin. The lower paying symbols of J, Q, K, and A pay up to 125x line bet and are pretty common. It takes matching three of any on a line from left to right to win.
The better-paying symbols are depicted as Coins, Scimitars, Cats, and an Ankh amulet. The Ankh is a rounded cross and the symbol of life. Cats or "Mau" were very important to early Egyptians and considered sacred. The Scimitar or more properly the Khopesh was known to them as the Sword of Truth, and coins have always been coins but these could represent Charon’s obol or other valuable and important grave goods.
Gameplay is made exciting with nearly every spin as Scarabs ascend the screen across one or more reels. They can land and turn any symbol into a Wild, giving you the opportunity to have an otherwise losing spin pay quite well. During regular gameplay, Wild symbols do not multiple win lines. But during feature games, they can multiply your win up to 5x.
To enter the bonus games on Treasure of Horus you will need to land a Horus symbol on the central reel. Horus has a dog-like head and will allow you to enter the Chamber of Anubis with 6 free spins. Once you have entered the Anubis chamber, another feminine symbol can appear on the middle reel. This will award an additional 6 free spins and bring you to the Chamber of Weret. Here Wild symbols of 1x and 2x can come into play. Landing a new icon on the middle reel will also award 6 spins and open the Chamber of Horus. In this tomb 1x, 2x, and 5x Wilds can come into play and so can the Scatter symbol which appears as a golden funerary mask. Three or more of these Scatters will award prizes.
Although the theoretical return to player percentage is nearly 96%, this is a high variance game with a volatility rating of 8 on a scale of 1-10. What that means is it may be some time before you get to the level that will pay Scatters, and once you get there, it may not pay much at all. The top prize on a single paid spin for Treasure of Horus is a whopping 102,500.00 on a 40.00 or more than 2,500x total bet. That puts it up there with the best super high variance games for those who hunt the big treasures.
