Inteplay

Inteplay was a casino software company, originally established in 2014. The company had quite a widespread presence in Asian casino markets, with offices spread across several countries.They produced a variety of games like slots, bingo, lottery and live dealer, and also offered their own sportsbook.

However, the company’s website seems to have been taken over by another party, and their social media sites have been quiet since 2017. Not much has come out in the form of news either, so we feel safe to say that Inteplay no longer exists, or at least no longer runs any operations even if the company exists on paper.

That said, we were still able to find some information on the sort of games the company used to produce and run. Let’s take a look at those next, in the name of legacy.

Software and Games

The company operated a white-label platform, which means that they provided the background software, branding, marketing, promotion engines, and all the other bits and pieces that are needed to run an online casino.

The company produced a handful of table games. Roulette, blackjack, baccarat were of course present, but you also had some rarer games for Asian casinos like Belangkai, Red Doc, and Sic Bo. Information on the specific is scarce, but most likely these were the standard versions of the games were used to.

Mobile gaming was part of the repertoire, though the company seems to have concentrated more on desktop gaming. Some examples of slots that were available include the following: Carnival of Brazil, Football Frenzy, Hello Sweet, Five Dragons, Money on Tree, and The Golden Lotus.

Gameplay-wise these aren’t much to talk about. The games relied on paylines and normal reel setups, with special functions pretty much restricted to wilds, scatters and bonus spins. Nothing to really make them stand out.

Live casino was most likely provided by a partner, as there is no real information available on the company offering any games themselves.

Interpretation

Something to note is that the slot games are available today under the moniker AWG (in turn, previously named Aiwin Games). Whether this was the original company, a partner, or someone who bought the assets is at the moment unknown. There is even less data about this company online than about Inteplay itself.

The primary solution from the company seems to have been the platform itself. They clearly weren’t much of a game producer, at least when it comes to innovation. However, their platform did provide some interesting ideas. Such as LAN-connections for land-based casinos. This meant that you could run a semi-online casino at any resort. Something that is commonplace these days, but perhaps not when the company was operating.

What the final story is, is a bit of a mystery. The company was purchased, went out of business. What we know is that they are no longer a player in the iGaming business.
