Gamescale has an address listed as Malta and was founded in 2010, "...by few industry veterans from the top gaming companies (Playtech, Microgaming, 888, PartyGaming and more)...". We like to confirm these things independently but when we parse the history of the internet for their first appearance we find the following code is all that has been recorded of them;
User-agent: *
Disallow: /
This means that the website developers have instructed 'spiders' to never crawl and record their pages. This prevents even Google from caching the pages for a single day. We can confirm that Gamescale Europe Ltd is a Maltese company C-52473, and has been granted a class 4 license from the Lotteries and Gaming Authority of Malta, LGA/CL4/684/2010. We first find them listed on the LGA as a Class 4 Operator in August of 2011, although the issuing date may have been within a few months previous.
Without enough information we could only speculate on the Gamescale development and deployment process, however we have been told that they purchased at least 11 games from Viaden and 'upgraded' them. Since that time, they have released many more games. We currently find slots and other Gamescale games at two casinos owned by Conan Gaming Limited. This overlap of games has been very confusing to us as we still see some of the games at casinos stating they are solely powered by Viaden Gaming. (Trada Casino carries Luxor Valley, Dice Express, Non-Stop Party, etc. and has no mention of Gamescale on their website).
Gamescale Europe Ltd Software
The entire Gamescale casino suite is available as a download casino client or as Flash no-download in any modern web browser. The game complement seems the same in either version, so user preference will determine the option. However, the download version is only available for Windows PC's. The games we tested loaded within 15 seconds in the Flash version on first access, and instantaneously with subsequent openings. The user interface is well developed and easy to use. However, players should note that pressing the Bet Max button on video slots will change the coin denomination, and sometimes reduce the line count, rather than simply staking all lines at your chosen coin size. The AutoSpin button will also start the reels rather than display a dialogue - it is an "on or off" proposition. Paytables and Live Chat are available from within the game, and there is a drop down Games list so players do not need to return to the lobby to choose a new game to play. The Flash version offered a choice of six languages including English, Spanish, Dutch, French, Italian, and Russian.
Gamescale Europe Ltd Games
Gamescale offers over 50 casino games online. Over 20 video slots, 20+ reel slots, several blackjack and roulette variants, table pokers, half a dozen video poker games, craps, keno, and fixed odds games are available.
The video bonus Dark Harbour Slot has a 1930's gangster theme and payouts up to 10,000x line bet and scatter wins up to 1000x total bet. Disco Slot is a 3 reel game with up to 3 paylines. Players can stake as little as 0.10 a pull or as much as five 5.00 coins on all 3 lines for a 75.00 spin.
For players who want to practice a betting strategy or simply want to low-roll for awhile, their Micro Roulette accepts bets as low as 0.10 per spin. Don't let the low price fool you, this game is presented as nicely as almost any other roulette game online, and better than many. The Jacks or Better video poker paytable we tested awarded 7x bet for Full House and 5x for Flush. The Auto Hold function can be toggled on or off on all video poker games.
Gamescale Europe Ltd Security and Conclusion
As mentioned in the overview, Gamescale is duly licensed by the LGA. We find a certificate of integrity from TST for their RNG stating, "GameScale has successfully been tested to Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA) requirements". In the year or more we have known of Gamescale, we have not heard or read any complaints against the software or casinos running it. Although not likely to ever be a contender with the likes of IGT, Microgaming, or a host of other top names, Gamescale seems to be a growing concern and worth taking a look at if you enjoy diversity and variety in your online casino games.
