Hawaiian Christmasby GameArt

Christmas-themed slot releases share many similar visual elements, naturally, those being the picturesque snowy background, Christmas tree, Santa Claus, reindeers and festive ornaments with greens, reds and golds popping out colorfully before your eyes.

However, a somewhat different take on the Christmas theme comes in the form of Hawaiian Christmas, a 5x5 layout slot title that takes you to the Hawaiian beach, although not as tropical as it should be, since it is oddly covered in snow.

This video slot with the Cascading Wins feature was made by iGaming software provider GameArt.

Theme and Symbols

The snow-covered beach and palm trees provide the background for the reed-rimmed video slot machine that spins fruity symbols such as pineapples, plums, and coconuts, as well as a golden star.

The six fruit symbols each have their respective value, with the star being the highest paying regular symbol in the game.

The beautifully animated traditional Tiki figure on the left side of the slot machine is celebrating each time you hit the win and yawning when you take too long to spin the reels. Just to drive the point home, this particular Tiki is wearing a Christmas cap.

The dashboard at the bottom allows the player to toggle the height of the bet, set the quick spin option, or opt for the number of extra spins, ranging from 10 to 500 such spins.

Lastly, the music, while not exactly Christmassy, is fittingly cheerful and choir-like.

Betting Options

Bets can be placed anywhere from €0.40 to €200.00, the coin value ranging from €0.01 to €5.00. The maximum win stands somewhere around x10,000 of the placed bet.

The RTP stands at a perfectly decent 96.08%, although the high volatility might make you break your sweat before you score some bigger wins.

Bonus Features

First, the Cascading Wins feature activates whenever you hit the win, removing the aligned symbols and replacing them with new ones in the same position. As long as consecutive wins are coming your way, this feature will last, stopping once no new wins are being made.

The aforementioned Tiki figure can trigger the Tiki Pop feature at any time during the spinning of the reels. What this feature does is remove lower-paying symbols randomly and activating the cascade feature.

Additionally, the Tiki is also a meter that fills in with each removed symbol. The number of 6, 11, or 16 such symbols being collected will result in the appearance of Wilds on the reels. At most, 3 such Wilds can appear, substituting for any other symbol in the game.

If 40 such symbols are collected with the Tiki feature, the extra spins feature will be triggered. The Wilds also appear during the extra spins, expanding the reels to the 7x7 layout.

What Is Our Conclusion?

While being a somewhat strange thematic approach, combining a tropical island with snow and winter theme, Hawaiian Christmas is beautifully designed.

Where it hits the right spot is the way the features complement each other, from cascading reels to the Wilds and extra spins, it all seems well-rounded to create an opportunity for many winnings in the row, creating an engaging gaming experience in the process.
