Pontoonby Galewind Software Corp.
The game of pontoon is a variation on blackjack with very generous rules that reduce the house edge, with basic strategy, to less than 0.40%. That give the player an expected RTP in the long run of over 99.6% making it perhaps the lowest house edge game in any casino carrying Galewind games. This game is played with 8 decks and when you see the generous rules you will know why there are so many cards. Although the dealer hits on soft 17 (hit in pontoon lingo is 'twist'), he will also peek for Pontoon (21) and save you the trouble of chasing rainbows. Pontoon pays 2:1.
Players can split and re-split to a total of 3 hands. Unlike blackjack, when you split and end up with a 10 value card and an Ace, the hand is a Pontoon (blackjack). Doubling is called “Buy” in pontoon and you can double your bet and buy once at any time, no matter how many cards you have. If you end up with 5 cards under 21 it called a 5-card trick and pays 2:1. Players may only stake one seat per game round and the deck will be shuffled after every hand so there is no sense in counting cards.
