FremantleMedia, Ltd. is a division of Europe's second largest TV, radio, and production company; Bertelsmann's RTL Group. Its world headquarters are in London. They own, manage, and produce dozens of hit television game shows such as I've Got a Secret, Family Feud, What's My Line?, The Price Is Right, Password, Sale of the Century and Scrabble, to name a few.

FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) is a commercial part of the company and one of their arenas of activity is to develop existing Fremantle properties across other media such as interactive television, merchandising, wireless and the internet. The company works with game developers such as NextGen, Electrocade, Ash Gaming and others to bring their popular game and reality shows to the spinning reels.

The FME gambling division was originally launched as an internal start up in 2008 as part of FremantleMedia Ventures. With the announcement in January 2011 of it's full integration into FME, came the news that it would be headed up by industry insider Simon Murphy who spent 8 years in key rolls at IGT WagerWorks and Million 2-1 (mobile gaming specialists acquired by IGT). This, and the success so far of the brands they release, all point to Fremantle strengthening their position and expanding to become more well known in all aspects of entertainment delivery.

The slot games reflect a commitment to bring their brands into every imaginable media. Rather than simply taking an existing game engine and plastering familiar pictures over the model, they have built from the ground up to truly reflect the concept of the show. For instance in the X Factor Steps to Stardom slot game, there is a progression through the Bonus rounds that is closely in line with what a contestant experiences on the show. A player goes before the Judges and hopes for a vote of YES, a no vote ends the round. Then it is all or nothing with each additional Judge.

Another bonus feature relates to the audience and advances the player to Boot Camp where they can win money with free spins. Star symbols appear randomly on the reels and are added to a tally on top of the slot game. If 10 Stars are collected during the free spin round, the player is advanced to the Live Final. In this tier, the player receives three offers for Performance, Audience Reaction, and Judges Verdict. If not pleased with one result, they may attempt the remaining two offers and the last award will be final. Any Stars over ten are carried into the next Boot Camp bonus round.

All of the slot games are as intricately connected to the show as X Factor, so fans of any show will find a favorite in the new Fremantle slots games.
