company_overviewMake note that Ever 88 Entertainment is no longer functioning. We would outright suggest that you do not even search for this company, as their former website has been hijacked and is full of questionable material.

But who was Ever 88, and what happened to the company? From what we can gather, the company was both a slot producer and a platform provider. This means that they helped other companies establish their online casinos, and offered a variety of games for them. They seem to also have offered games via partnered game producers.

But the story goes a bit deeper than that. Join us as we dive deep into the depths of the internet and do our detective work. Or simply move on to other online casinos and software providers that are still active.

Getting the Timeline Straight

Just like with other gaming companies that disappeared, most of the information regarding the company has long since vanished. According to some sources, they started operating relatively yearly, as far back as 1998. It also seems that the company used to go under the name CGTV Games, before switching their name. Interestingly enough, there still exists a website for this provider, though they certainly haven’t been active for ages either. The latter company seems to have been registered in Canada, but it’s hard to say if there is or was any connection between these companies.

The origin that we have found for CGTV Games dates back to 2006, when the assets of GFED Games were purchased and repurposed under this new brand. Other companies or brands included were iCrystal Software and Azure Media, which seem to have been companies operating out of Curacao.

At this point, the company was still heavily invested in US casino gaming, which promptly changed as the markets closed. They repurposed themselves to aim for the international markets instead. Game production was ramped up, and new technology was invested in.

And that’s where the trail leaves us cold again. At some point, the brand name changed to Ever88 Entertainment, which seems to have operated globally for some time. But looking back at the products, they never evolved over the next hump in technology, being now over a decade outdated. There no longer exist casinos that use any of the services.

Games and Services

Most releases of online slots happened around 2011, and these games have pretty much disappeared since. They don’t seem to be available anywhere, and to our knowledge, they were not sold on or reskinned for a more modern look.

This is not surprising as the games are very outdated by today's standards. The look is very much of old graphics, with the interface itself reminding of an actual old land-based gaming terminal. And if we look at games like Fruity Loot, Dragon Lair, Gold Cup, Penguin Playground, Best of Show, Atlantis, and Wild Gene, they are pretty much copies of each other.

The games themselves offered five or three reels with a varying number of paylines. The only feature worth noting was a progressive jackpot shared across some games. Otherwise, you were stuck with wilds and scatters, and perhaps bonus spins in a game or two. There seems to also have been a poker network, though not much information remains of it. The same applies to table games, lottery products, and number games like keno.

Other services included payment processing and banking methods for almost all countries and currencies. Over a dozen different languages were also supported. A software platform seems to also have existed, which allowed casinos and producers to localise their content for different markets. Other solutions for managing websites and casinos were also produced and used across a wide variety of sites.

Interpretation

interpretationEver 88 Entertainment, or its other monikers like CGTV, seem to have once been quite a formidable suite of games and casino software. The services covered all the popular gaming types at the time, and allowed casinos to operate across the world. The downfall seems to have been the blocking from US markets, and simply failing to keep up with the times.

The interesting part is that the company still holds a website, despite not having operated for what seems like a decade.
