About the Company

Bla Bla Bla Studios is a Cape Town, South Africa-based company involved in 2D and 3D art and animation for the gaming industry with a focus on casino slots. The company received their gambling software license from the UKGC in December 2017. By March of 2018, they had released Amazing Alchemist at SlotsMillion and other online casinos over the Leander Games aggregation network.

The company was founded in 2012 but only later became involved in developing casino games for PC, tablet, and mobile. The first entry into a partnership that we are aware of is a late 2016 partnership with Las Vegas, Nevada-based Slot Game Lab, a land-based Category II slot provider in the U.S.

The company is headed up by Carmen Granger, who has been CEO since 2013. She previously held long tenure at Traction, a highly successful business development corporation in Cape Town. It may have been this experience that led her to a partnership with the UK's RNG Foundry Limited. In June 2017 the company announced that it had signed a distribution agreement with the gaming accelerator to supply exclusive content to online casinos over the Microgaming Quickfire platform.

In addition to a full complement of artists, animators, developers, and other technicrati hailing from the cartoon and motion picture industries at their Cape Town studios, Bla employs a global network of freelancers and contract persons from such disparate zones as France, Switzerland, Spain, Indonesia, India, Canada, and Latin America to name a few regions.

Software and Games

In addition to multi-platform slot games, the company has expanded into applications and card game development. As for the slot games, the first thing that jumps out at a player is the quality of art and animation. However, the games enrapture you in no time as the storyboard-driven narratives take over and the player becomes immersed in a fantasy world that is a far cry from the online slots gaming experience of even a decade ago.

During regular gameplay, the reels cannot be stopped and win celebrations must conclude before the next spin. This, along with the inability to change the number of paylines make their games too 'controlled' for my taste, but I do have a particular style of playing that would not appeal to most sane gamblers.

The game has a picking bonus game made all the more urgent and exciting by the soundtrack. The free spins bonus also builds a lot of anticipation with five separate bonus features - each potentially more lucrative progressively with the fifth, and most rare, feature awarding instant win + extra wilds + wild column + extra wilds with a multiplier.
