European Blackjack is slightly different to your traditional Blackjack table game. There are 2 decks of 52 cards in which are shuffled after every hand. The major difference is that the dealer is only dealt face up cards one at a time. You have to decide whether to take insurance if the dealer has an Ace on its first card before deciding to split or double.
The rules for European Blackjack are as follows; Blackjack will beat any hand with a total value of 21. The Dealer must stand on a total of 17 and has to draw if its total is16. Split is only possible once, can only split if the cards are of the same value. After a split, Ace and 10 do not make up a Blackjack. You can only double if your card values are 9, 10 or 11. If you chose to double, be aware you will only be dealt 1 more card, and then you automatically stand on the total value reached. You cannot double after any split. If your dealer is dealt with an ace, then you may take insurance on the dealer having Blackjack, this will cost you half your initial bet..
