Ah, time travel. It’s everywhere. In TV shows, in books, in movies. It seems like we would really like to have the ability. After all, who hasn’t done or said something they’d like to take back?

It goes way back too, as one of the first time travel novels, The Time Machine by H.G. Wells was published in 1895 and set the literary world ablaze.

So it’s no wonder that the people at Saucify have been inspired to give this subject a crack in Tales of Time Travel, their slot game with 40 paylines, stacked wilds, and timeless free spins.

Theme

Just like the book, the game is set in Victorian London. But there is a twist…

…this is a steampunk Victorian London. And aside from all the steam, what does that mean?

Lots of blacks and greys and moody dark skies. Grime everywhere and a towering Big Ben in the distance. Maybe not a place you’d go to for a vacation, but certainly evocative.

A closer look at the reels reveals:

The low paying symbols are the card numbers we all know and love, while the high paying ones are representations of the different eras of history. We start in the Jurassic with a dinosaur, Ancient Egypt with a scene from the building of the pyramids, medieval times with a knight, and finally a futuristic neon cityscape.

Betting Options and Functions

A five by three game with variable paylines (up to 40) and variable coin size. This means the punters will have a lot of control over the structure of their bets as a lot of different denominations can be played.

This means the minimum bet can be even just one cent if you choose to play only one line at the smallest coin size.

Betting veterans will be happy to know there is an autoplay feature that works exactly how it works in any other game. Set it and forget it up to a maximum of 999 times.

Special Features

Sadly, despite the rich setting, the game is a little thin on bonus features. There are the expected extra spins, activated in the normal way by scatter symbols.

The extra spin feature also gives an automatic 2x multiplier and cannot be reactivated once the mode starts.

Our Take

While the lack of special features is a bit disappointing, this is still a worthy offering. The graphics are very nice and pop when played in full screen on a desktop or mobile devices.

For all fans of steampunk or classic time travel tales, this is one you don’t want to miss.
