A world of magic and enchantment awaits those who enter the whimsical forest in this release by Betixon.
Elora’s Quest follows the titular Elora on the also titular quest. What does this adventure entail? Oh, just the usual Tuesday night activities for girls. Getting lost in fairy forests, avoiding evil-looking chalices and riding unicorns.
But it’s not all just whimsy and rainbows, it’s about cold hard cash too. All this questing would be for naught without some kind of remuneration at the end. And Betixon delivers with some fun mechanics and an extra spins mode.
Theme
Smack dab in the center of some kind of arcane forest clearing is where this offering takes place. It’s dark, but more in a strange way than a scary way.
The trees all have vines growing on them, and orchids in the canopies. Don’t question it, it’s magic.
There are glowing rocks too, to complete the atmosphere.
The reels are magical too…
…because in a really lovely touch, the developer has decided to weave the trusty card numbers out of colorful vines. Usually, low paying symbols are boring and unremarkable, but here they actually look great and complement the vibe in a really great way.
The high paying symbols are represented by items often associated with fantasy quests.
There is a chalice of poison, a treasure chest and…
…a backpack? Guess you have to keep the coins somewhere.
Overall, it’s a very colorful and bright theme.
Betting Options and Functions
This is a game with five reels and three rows and 30 fixed paylines. To begin the forest hike punters can stake 30 cents per spin as a minimum or up to 30 euros as a maximum bet.
Autospin is present as an option with a maximum of 50 spins and advanced options to control the conditions of when to interrupt them.
Special Features
The features of this offering are not very extensive or involved. Whether punters will like that or not depends on what they’re looking for in a game.
Those who need flashy effects and multi-stage special bonuses topped off with a 3D animated pick game will not find what they’re looking for here.
But…
…if you don’t mind a simple game, you might find it’s good sometimes to go back to the basics and enjoy something uncomplicated.
So with that in mind, there are two special features on offer. One is a random wild feature that triggers during the base game and may turn some symbols into unicorn wilds.
The other…
…are extra spins. Collecting three or more scatter symbols, represented by the heroine Elora, will trigger the bonus. Two good things about them is that they can be retriggered and there is an x3 multiplier on all wins.
Our Take
A graphically pleasing game that’s a let down by lack of anything special going on. In the age of over-the-top special features and flashiness, is there room for simple games like this?
Yes, as some punters still like them. And for those who do, they will find a worthy offering here.
